Neville dreamt he was on an enormously crowded subway train with his friend David Morton, the two of them quoting Blake to each other and agreeing that no argument could persuade anyone that all this was within them; David handed him a bundle of letters to post, and as Neville promised to mail them he woke on his bed at about six thirty.
