On arriving in Los Angeles a man with self-conferred degrees tried to silence Neville for denying the historicity of Jesus and barred him from the dozens of groups where he was already contracted to speak; when the man found Neville was not dependent on his money he relented too late, and Neville took away one of his best supporters.
