Neville recounts his vision of the Crucifixion: walking in a great Arab-like throng, a voice declared that God walks with them and, asked where, answered "At your side"; a woman turned, laughed and said "You mean Neville is God?", and the voice said "Yes, in the act of waking"; then a voice within him spoke of laying itself down within him to sleep and dream, and he was drawn into his body on the bed with six whirling vortices in hands, feet, head and side.
