Evening News (London), 15 October 1925, p.6: a society 'About Bobbed Hair' column describing Amerique and Neville dancing a tango to 'El Choclo' among 'the new exhibition dancers' — falls within their documented autumn 1925 London engagement. The column's own occasion was bobbed hair, and Amerique is in it because she had not bobbed hers: 'Nor was the woman member of the new exhibition dancers, [Amerique] and [Neville], as lissom and graceful a pair as have been seen in a ballroom, wearing her hair bobbed.' On the performance: 'They began with a tango, with that best of tango tunes "El Choclo."' A Sir Denison who was present remarked, 'That was the original tango tune we heard in Paris in 1909.' He is not further identified in the clipping. The setting is a London society gathering during Cesarewitch week, the column opening on the Frenchwomen who had come over for the race meeting.
