Neville recounts sailing back from Barbados with his wife and three-year-old daughter Vicki, arriving in New York on 1 May to keep a Milwaukee engagement, after the Alcoa Steamship Company unexpectedly offered him a cancelled two-berth passage the day after he imagined the return voyage in detail. This is the same voyage as hist_event:5872, which dates the offer to 1948-04-02.
