Thy Words Were Found
We read in the 15th chapter of the Book of Jeremiah, “Thy words were found, and I ate them, and they became a joy to me and a delight to my heart”—then he gives the reasons, and the reasons are as he gives them—“I am called by thy name, O Lord, God of hosts”. He found the words of God and he ate them, and as he ate them they became a joy and a delight to his heart. Then he gives the reason why…because “I am called by thy name.” Thy name is “O Lord, God of hosts.” The Word is what every man in the world—by man I mean generic man, male, female made he them, every child born of woman—must experience. He assimilates the Word: he hears it, he understands it, he accepts it, he fully believes it; and then suddenly it erupts within him, and he has an experience of the Word, and he himself is God. There is no other Creator, no other God.622 ¶1
So in the New Testament we find the story of the Word: “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him and without him was not anything made that was made. He was in the world, the world was made by him, and the world knew him not”. He came to his own home and his own people received him not. And you ask, “What was it that Jeremiah actually ate?” Well, it’s the Word. What is the Word? What did he discover to be the truth concerning God by whose name he was called? He discovered that your own wonderful human Imagination is God…that’s what Jeremiah discovered.622 ¶2
Blake tells it in a simple way. It’s so simply told that people think, well now, this is told for little children, for he calls it The Songs of Innocence. He calls it The Lamb. He said, “Little Lamb, who made thee? Dost thou know who made thee? I’ll tell thee who made thee…for he calls himself a lamb. He is meek, and he is mild; he became a little child. I a child, and thou a lamb, we are called by his name. Little Lamb, God bless thee!” And we think that’s a nursery rhyme. Blake is telling you the most profound thing that one could tell. Here, he calls himself a lamb and yet he is the little child, the Christ child. Well, “I am a child” said Blake, “and thou art a lamb, and we are called by his name.” He’s repeating the same story as told in the 15th chapter, the 16th verse, of Jeremiah.622 ¶3
Here, your own wonderful human Imagination is the God of scripture. Listen to another statement of Blake’s: “Babel mocks”—well, that’s the world, Babel is the world with its multiple tongues—“Babel mocks, saying there is no God nor Son of God, that thou, O Human Imagination, O Divine Body, art all a delusion; but I know thee, O Lord, when thou arisest upon my weary eyes, even in this dungeon and this iron mill. For thou sufferest with me tho’ I behold thee not.” And then the divine voice replie,s “Fear not! I am with you always…only believe in me, that I have power to raise from death thy brother who sleepeth in Albion; fear not, trembling shade”. Here, your own wonderful human Imagination is the God of scripture. It is the Jesus Christ spoken of, for John identifies Jesus Christ with the Creator, and here the Creator’s name is called “the Lord.” He is called “the Lord” and he is called “the Lord, God of hosts.” And Jeremiah, which means “God or Jehovah will rise,” is telling you that he is called by the name of the Lord: “I am called by thy name” and then he names it, “O Lord, God of hosts.”622 ¶4
Then man discovers that he is actually the Lord, the God of hosts. But while he wears the garment of flesh he is restrained, he is restricted to all the weaknesses and all the limitations of the flesh. And he decays as all bodies decay…everything decays in this world. But in spite of the decay of the thing that he wears like a mask, he, the wearer of the mask, is the Lord, the God of hosts. One day he will experience that he is. No matter what the world will say, he knows there is no such thing as “I believe” anymore; there is an assured “I know” for I have experienced it. Even though I must continue in the world wearing a garment that slowly wears out, and eventually it must be so worn out it has to be discarded. But after the experience, you’re no longer restored into another garment similar to the one that you’ve worn out. You depart from this altogether into the body that was yours before that the world was. And wherever that body is there is heaven. For heaven is only the body that is alive, this infinite body, and wherever you are, the realm in which you dwell is harmonious, it is heaven. For heaven is a body, the body that you will wear in eternity; and no matter where you go everything is transformed into the perfection that your body is. So you don’t go into a realm called heaven; you are heaven by reason of the fact that you wear the body that now you have awakened within you, which is the imaginative body. Wherever that body goes it is heaven. Not a thing can remain imperfect in the presence of one who wears the risen body. If you went into hell, instantly—not over a period of time but instantly it’s transformed into heaven. No matter where you go it is heaven.622 ¶5
And if you are not wearing that body, wherever you go it is really hell…as this world is hell, all decay, all conflict…everything in the world is really in a conflict. So when he said, “Thy words were found and I ate them,” how would I eat words? Do you know many a person has taken the Bible and eaten the Bible? I went to the mental institution in Barbados with my brother Lawrence, who is now gone from this world, who was the doctor there. Here, all these mental patients, many of them with their Bibles tearing them up and eating them. Eating the pages…I actually saw it and I could hardly believe my eyes…they were eating the Bible…they took it literally. And we aren’t helped by the early church fathers who changed the Word of God. For here, the prophets inspired as they were wrote what they heard and what they saw, and the early church fathers added to the Word of God to make it conform to their traditions, their conventions, and changed the entire picture.622 ¶6
I’ll give you just a couple of examples. In the 3rd chapter of the Book of John there’s a conversation between one called Nicodemus, who was a master of Israel, a member of the Sanhedrin. He would be like any Cardinal today, the master of what is considered the right thing concerning God. He encounters now one who stands in the presence as God, for he has experienced God, and he said, “When you see me you see the Father. I am the Father.” Then he makes the statement, “Unless you be born from above, you cannot enter the kingdom of Heaven”. Nicodemus replied, “How can one who is old once more enter into his mother’s womb and be born?” He said, “You a master of Israel and you do not understand?” Now take the 5th verse, “Truly, truly, I say unto you, unless one is born” and now they have added “water and.” It isn’t so. The verse now reads “Unless you are born of water and the Spirit, you cannot enter the kingdom of God.” The words “water and” are added; they are not in the original script. These are added by the editor, the early fathers of a church, to give support to their tradition of baptizing a child with water.622 ¶7
Now the 8th verse—I’ve just quoted you the 5th verse—let me read you the 8th verse: “The wind blows where it wills, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know whence it comes or whither it goes; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Now the word “water” is not used in the 8th. Here in the 5th he has added “water and”; here in the 8th water is not…that is gone from the script. You must be born of the Spirit. And now he likens the Spirit to the wind…and the word in Hebrew and Greek for Spirit and for wind is the same word. So, as the Spirit blows or moves, you may say…but he uses the word, the translator calls it now “wind”…“as the wind blows where it wills, and you hear the sound of it, but you cannot tell whence it comes nor whither it goes; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Well now, when my mother came to this country when my little boy was two and a half years old, one of the first questions she asked of me was, “Where was Junior baptized?”…that’s my little son, two and a half years old. I said, “He wasn’t baptized.” “Oh,” she said, “Neville, how could you? Suppose he dies?” I said, “What has that to do with anything?” She said, “He couldn’t go to heaven. If he isn’t baptized, he couldn’t go to heaven.” Mother was stuck with that one little word which her minister taught her, “You must be born of water and the Spirit” and “the water” he explained to her—and to millions in the world who call themselves Christians—is baptism by water. It hasn’t a thing to do…that’s been added by the early church fathers just to support and sustain their concepts which they practiced. It’s quite an income. You’re not charged for baptism, but it is expected that you give something. It amounts to a considerable sum of money. This is one of the little things, one of the little indulgences of our churches and you can multiply that all over the world.622 ¶8
I know from my own experience having been born from above that the wind is correct and the water is false. You hear a wind and the wind is in your head, but it also comes from without, seemingly from without. You do not know whence it comes…you think it’s from this direction and you look over here. At the same time you’re looking there, you also feel it in your head. Then when the whole drama is over and the infant appears, then the wind disappears…so you cannot tell “whence it comes or whither it goes; so is every one who is born of the Spirit,” and not a thing to do with water.622 ¶9
When the side is pierced and out comes water and blood that has been added. It’s a symbol of birth, yes, but that has been added. If you take the 6th chapter, which is one of the most difficult chapters in John, all based upon a peculiar thing concerning “eating my body.” Well, the “body” of scripture is the Word and the Word is God—you understand it and you assimilate it and you’re eating it. You actually eat it by assimilation. What you cannot assimilate, like the physical world, then you will reject and therefore you eliminate. I can’t quite understand this and so I will simply eliminate it; I can’t quite take it in and assimilate it. So we’ll start with the 51st verse of the 6th chapter. You can eliminate from the second half of the 51st verse right through to the 58th verse and go into the 59th…and it’s all about “eating my body.” He said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven. He who eats my body will live forever.” This he said in the synagogue. In between these nine verses you find all the things that support the Eucharist, support the Holy Communion. And just to support the traditions of the church the early fathers added those nine verses, from the second half of the 51st verse through the 58th verse of the 6th of John. We could take you through the entire book and all the other gospels, the [...], and show you where the redactor made it conform to the traditions of the church.622 ¶10
And today, well, as my mother said to me concerning my little boy’s baptism…so I went down to please my mother and arranged with some Episcopal minister to baptize him. Well, the only thing that happens to a little child in baptism, or to an adult when they’re old, could be catching a cold. Not a thing happens spiritually may I tell you. My first wife who got religion at the advanced years and joined some…I don’t know…Baptist? No, she joined the…oh, what was this…well, it will come to me eventually. But she joined it and took my little boy over to an indoor pool at the St. George Hotel in Brooklyn. She was going to be completely immersed. She couldn’t swim anymore than my little boy could swim, and they almost got drowned. She was going to be just completely immersed and so she’s going to get religion. All she got was just on the verge of death. And my little boy who couldn’t swim, she did the same thing to him, not knowing that when he was two and a half, because of my mother’s fear that he would go to hell if he, an innocent little boy, wasn’t baptized, I allowed this performance.622 ¶11
So I tell you, throughout the book when you read it there are so many things that the early fathers incorporated in spite of the warning which they would not heed. You read it at the end of Proverbs, “Let no one add to or take from the words of the prophecy of this book” (30:6). In the very end of the Bible, in the very last chapter of Revelation, we are warned against adding to or taking from the words of the book (22:18). But they would not heed the warning. They are going to make it conform to their traditions and their conventions. And you never heard the statement in scripture coming from the mighty I AM states, when all through John he said, “I am the light of the world, I am the bread, I am the door, I am the way”—all these mighty I AM statements—it never said, “I am the conventions, I am the traditions.” But to support their traditions the early fathers inserted and added to the Word of God.622 ¶12
So here, I tell you behind the mask that you are wearing is the only God. There is nothing but God. Divine Imagination reproduced himself in you in your own wonderful human Imagination. And because he contains all, all is contained in the human Imagination. Man one day will awaken to this fact to discover the whole vast world is himself pushed out as the whole vast world is God pushed out. This, as he awakens in you, begins to expand within the bosom of Divine Imagination. You are the human Imagination, but it is one with Divine Imagination. So reproduced in us is the Divine Imagination. And who is the “us”?—human Imagination. Certainly not in this little body…this is only the mask that I wear. So here, we eat the body of God by hearing the Word and then assimilating it. I hear it. I may not at the moment be able to understand it. As we’re told in the Book of Nehemiah, “They read from the Word of God, and they read it with interpretation; and they gave the meaning, so that the people understood that which was read” (8:8). So it all came from within and they understood it. Well, when you hear it, do you understand it? If you don’t understand it, go over it and over and over again.622 ¶13
But the New is only the fulfillment of the Old. So when you’re told, “I am the bread,” he’s only quoting from Jeremiah. He said, “I found your Words” and he is called the Word of God. Now he identifies the Word with that statement in Jeremiah: “Your words have been found and I ate them, and they became to me a joy and the delight of my heart; for I am called by thy name, O Lord, God of hosts” (15:16, KJV).622 ¶14
Well, man is embarrassed to be told he is the Lord, the God of hosts when he can’t pay rent, when he can’t buy clothes, when he can’t eat as he would like to eat…and he is the Lord, the God of hosts? Yes, limited by the body that he is wearing. And no one imposed it upon him; he did it all by himself: “No one takes away my life, I lay it down myself. I have the power to lay it down and the power to lift it up again” (Jn.10:18). So I did it for a purpose: I did it that I may expand. For the joy is constant expansion. I could not expand unless I first contracted. So I reach the limit of contraction called “man” and this contraction is the limit of opacity. Then at a certain moment I break the shell, and what is contained within is the God who created it all, and it begins to expand. And everyone in this world will succeed…not one can fail.622 ¶15
So I may be satisfied today with my little earnings in the world, my little place in which I live, but all of this is a contraction. The day will come I will actually eat the Word of God: I will experience the Word of God, and when I experience the Word of God then I will know that I am he. But not until I am that hungry will I do it. As we are told in the Book of Amos, “I will send a famine upon the land; it will not be a hunger for bread, nor a thirst for water, but for the hearing of the words of God” (8:11).622 ¶16
The average person is not interested in hearing the word of God. When they go to church what do they hear? I read in this morning’s paper some sermon given yesterday in Santa Monica, and the minister is telling the congregation that religion should be rooted in reason. Of all the asinine things in the world! Religion is revealed truth which cannot be logically proven. It’s revealed truth.622 ¶17
How could you explain to anyone logically the story of the birth from above? How could Nicodemus ever grasp until he experienced the birth from above how it could be done? I am born from below as the whole vast world is born from below, from the womb of woman. How could I, a grown man, approaching the grave, be born from above? And where is “above”? The world thinks the above is out there, and the above is within; for in scripture “above” and “within” are the same, and “below” and “without” are the same. So I came into the world by being born from below; I enter into my eternal state by being born from within. That “within-ness” is from above, and that “above-ness” is the skull of man. That’s where I was born from above, and not any water was present in the birth, so, no baptism of that nature whatsoever.622 ¶18
So here, we find the words “water and” and we delete them in that 5th verse of the 3rd chapter of John…just delete them. You’re not born of the water and the Spirit; you are born of the Spirit…so forget the water. And so, if it pleases the family when a little child is born to have the child baptized, then please the family…that’s all. I pleased my mother when I took my little boy down and had him baptized for her satisfaction, that she would feel that if he should die at least he would have a chance to enter heaven.622 ¶19
And you only enter heaven from here when you are born from above. When I say here, here does not end with death. The world does not terminate at the point where my senses cease to register it; therefore, when someone departs this life they are still here in a world terrestrial just like this. So they go on, and they will be born from within, which is from above, from their skull. They will be restored to life. All are restored except those who have experienced the birth from above, and they now can die no more. They can’t pass through any more departures from one state to another. They are now sons of God, and the son of God is one with God: I and my Father are one (Jn.10:30).622 ¶20
So here in this statement of Jeremiah, he discovered that Jehovah rose within him. When he rises within me, well then, when I wear that garment in which he rises—which is my garment that I took off to come into this garment—then all impossibilities will dissolve at that touch of exaltation which his rising in me imparts to my nature. So wherever I go then clothed in that form is heaven. So heaven is not a location; heaven is the body that I wear and wherever I go wearing that body is the realm called heaven. For everything is transformed in harmony with the perfection that is now springing and rising within me.622 ¶21
So I know from experience that these things are really inserted and they have violated scripture by adding to the words of God. So that statement in Blake when he identifies the human Imagination with the divine body of the Lord Jesus Christ. And then the world denies that there is a God. The mocking world says, “There is no God nor Son of God, that thou, O human Imagination, art all a delusion. That thou, the human Imagination which is the divine body of God really does not exist. But I know thee, O Lord”—he knew exactly the one who returns morning after morning upon his weary eyes, because he could bring through the vision right down to the moment when he once more awoke within the garment of flesh. So he came through remembering exactly what he had done and how he came back through this bridge of incident that led him into the so-called waking world of this mundane state. So then, he returned upon his weary eyes…he opened his eyes to know how it came back. For in that state whatever he imagined happened and he knew the power of the Creator, that all things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made (Jn.1:3). If you awake in a dream, you can control the dream, and you know exactly who is doing it: your Imagination. If you ever catch yourself dreaming, you either quickly awake, as you undoubtedly will, or in that state you control everything that you do and you know exactly the controller and the begetter, and he is your Imagination. If you awake and not awake here, then you will control everything that you are doing and make it come out. So when you return upon the weary eyes in this dungeon and this iron mill, you still remember the Lord and the Lord was your own wonderful human Imagination.622 ¶22
One day, you will completely awake in that body and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other Jesus Christ. Everything in the world is but your own wonderful Imagination pushed out. Here in this world you did this for a purpose, a heavenly purpose. The restriction you imposed upon yourself was for the purpose of expansion and you could not expand until you first reached the limit of contraction, the limit of opacity.622 ¶23
I can’t tell you the thrill that is mine when I’m getting your letters and reading how you are awakening, one after the other, as the visions are coming through. But everyone will. Those who tonight would deny it completely, condemning it, then forgive them. It makes no difference. Let them condemn it forever. I am not speaking any longer as one who will say, “I believe it…I was told it by my mother whom I trusted and I believe her implicitly.” I don’t have to say that any more. Mine is an assured I know! Mine is not rooted in reason; mine is revealed truth. Truth is revealed: it is God’s unveiling himself in the individual, for God became man that man may become God…so in man he unveils himself. It’s revealed. You cannot in any way logically come to any of these conclusions. You cannot prove truth by any logic in the world; it simply unveils itself. And then you tell it…some believe it and some deny it.622 ¶24
So when you read Blake bear in mind he wasn’t writing for any little child as you understand a child. He was telling the most profound truth in the language of the child that it may be kept alive. Because it is so beautifully told it will it will live forever and forever. “Little lamb, dost thou know who made thee? Little lamb I’ll tell thee. He is called by thy name, for he calls himself a lamb. He is meek and he is mild; he became a little child. I a child, and thou a lamb, we are called by his name.” So he’s telling you in the most beautiful manner exactly the experience of Jeremiah in the 15th chapter, the 16th verse of Jeremiah.622 ¶25
So when we speak of the lamb being slain, all right, not a little lamb…that’s a symbol. I took my own life when I came down here, you took your own life when you came here, and we are the one being who did it. He calls the one being Albion, the universal humanity in which all are contained. So in this one man all men fell, and we individually rise back into the one man. So the one man is gathering himself together, one by one, into the same one man who is God, who came down into universal humanity. And not one will be missing; every one will be gathered. He will leave the ninety and nine who are saved and go in search of the one because the body is not complete until all are redeemed. So all are brought back into the one body that fell, and that one body is God. You and I are contained in him and we are called “the gods in the one.” So the word translated “the Lord” would be singular and the word translated “God” is plural, it’s Elohim. So when we speak of the great confession of faith of the Hebrew, “Hear, O Israel: the Lord,” that’s singular…“our God,” that’s plural…“the Lord,” singular, “is one” (Deut.6:4). So the one became fragmented into the many, and all are gathered one by one into the same one Lord. So you hear this wonderful confession, “Shema, Israel, jah adonai elohenu adonai achad.” One Lord…the numberless gods gathered together in the one Lord. Every one is going to have this identical experience.622 ¶26
And so, if I could take from you the few little things that have been added into scripture because they confuse the mind, forget the word “water.” You are not born of water and the Spirit; you are born of the Spirit. No physical baptism has anything to do with your second birth. Completely forget it…whether you were completely immersed in the river or a little water thrown on your head. Most of the little children cry anyway…if you’ve gone to these baptismals…they scare the little things to death. But that is not important. If it pleases, as it did my mother, then do it to please the one rather than offend her. But don’t think for one second you have to be baptized by any person in this world. Who by the laying on of hands in this world can do anything for you? Who by taking a little water and putting it on your head can do anything to you spiritually? But you will find a real baptism when you stand in the presence of the risen Lord whose body is gathering together one after one after one, and then he embraces you. That is baptism by the Holy Spirit.622 ¶27
And then you are sent to have the experiences of the Word of God: “For my word cannot return unto me void; it must accomplish that which I purpose, and prosper in the thing for which I sent it” (Is.55:11). So the Word is God himself and he’s in you. He sent himself and then you go through all these afflictions of the world, and then one day it suddenly erupts within you, and you are called by his name and you are the Lord, God of hosts. You are looking upon the whole vast world and you realize it is yourself pushed out…everything in the world is yourself pushed out. So if you don’t like what’s going on, you can only change it by changing your attitude towards it and change it within yourself. It cannot change unless you first change your attitude towards it, because the whole thing is within you. And when you see it changed to conform to the change in you, then you really have confirmation of what is taught in scripture.622 ¶28
Then one day you awake, and you know when the final day comes after you’re awake…it can’t be delayed too long…well then, you enter into that garment that was yours before that the world was. Then you become one of the watchers from above who contemplate the world of death, waiting eagerly for the return of all your brothers, for we are all brothers. We were before the world was, we still are though we don’t recognize each other, and we will be when this world ceases to be. But all will be enhanced by reason of the experience of coming into the world of death and conquering death.622 ¶29
What I’m telling you tonight I tell from experience; I am not speculating, I am not theorizing. Weak as I am in the world of Caesar, limited as I am, I still know the experience and I cannot deny the experience. I could no more deny this experience than I could deny the simplest evidence of my senses. I had dinner tonight, I drove here with a friend, I know exactly what happened and I couldn’t deny that. Well, I couldn’t deny my experience. If I deny that, it’s like saying I didn’t come here tonight with my friend and my wife. I can’t deny it, it is so real to me.622 ¶30
And I know that everyone here is going to have it, but when, I cannot tell you. The day, the hour remains the secret of the Father in you, for he will not awaken within you until he has accomplished his purpose. He sent himself into the world clothed as you. When he awakens, you are the Lord God Almighty, but still restricted until that moment in time when you take off the garment as you would as an actor…take it off and hang it up in the costume department. Then you depart from the stage, depart from the theater.622 ¶31
Now while we are here there is a technique given to us where we can make it easier…knowing who God is, and God is our own wonderful human Imagination. We can imagine that we are the man, the woman that we would like to be and persuade ourselves that we are; and to the degree that we are faithful to that assumption, that assumption will harden into fact. If I could now persuade myself that I am…but I must first of all want it.622 ¶32
The world will say to you, well, why don’t you want to be rich? Well, maybe you don’t want wealth. It’s the most difficult thing in the world to convince someone that you really don’t want to be rich. They think you’re insane, you must be insane. Don’t you want to be well-known like, say, Richard Burton, who could spend a million dollars for a diamond for his girl? And you say, no, I have no desire to have a million dollars to spend on a diamond for my wife, none whatsoever. The little that I gave her she doesn’t wear, and so she has no desire for that, and I have no money to that extent, none whatsoever. Well, they think something’s wrong with you. Well, that’s perfectly all right. Leave that individual just as he is. If he wants a million to spend on a diamond, let him have it, and pray for him that he may have it. But personally I have no such desire, none whatsoever. I’m not alone, I’m quite sure I am part of the majority.622 ¶33
Because I had no desire to be known when everything in this world is fading and will vanish and only the immortal you will remain and he doesn’t function in this world. So everything you ever accomplished in this world will pass and really pass forever and leave not a trace behind. But the you of whom I speak and to whom I am speaking are immortal…that’s the eternal being. And when you awake, you awake in an immortal body. It is perfect, it cannot be improved, and wherever you are that realm is perfect. There can be no blind, no deaf, no halt, no weakness, no limitation wherever you are. Everything in your world as you walk by is transformed into the perfection that is you…and that is heaven. So, really, heaven is not a locality, it really is a body, it’s a character, and that character as it moves in the world, the universe, transforms every place where it is into heaven. That becomes then the realm for the time that you dwell in it and leave it for anyone else, for when you go on wherever you go is perfect, for it is heaven.622 ¶34
So when you read this, don’t think a man is going to eat a piece of paper as I saw them in Barbados doing it. And that’s not alone they do it all over the world. When you eat the Word of God, you first hear it with understanding, with interpretation, and you say yes to it. When you can say yes to it then you accept it and you’re eating it, you’re assimilating it. You can’t take it all at the same time. Certain portions of it you can’t digest, and so you simply reject it for awhile. Eventually you’ll eat the entire loaf…as my friend saw the entire loaf alive and blood pouring from it. It was all bread, beautiful symbolism, beautiful imagery and so true.622 ¶35
She has completely accepted the fact that all things spring out of her own wonderful human Imagination. And he could not for one moment alter the fact as she called the number one after the other and it all added up to the whole loaf. “Eat my body and drink my blood.” She doesn’t have to go to any church to have a little piece of wafer and a little sip of wine. She saw the entire thing because she has eaten the body of God: she has completely accepted the fact that imagining creates reality. Whether she proves it in performance or not she still accepts it one hundred percent. So she may falter in proving it in the testing, but she has completely accepted it and that’s why the symbol came to her in a vision.622 ¶36
And so, she may tomorrow because she’s married, she has two children and third is coming, she may find moments of difficulty in her life, but having seen that symbol she will always fall back upon it and know she can’t pass the buck. She can’t blame her husband, John, or her three children, as the one is to be. She has to turn and say, “No man takes it from me ;I lay it down myself. That no man cometh unto me save my Father calls him, and I and my Father are one.” So you are a rascal and you couldn’t come into my world unless my Father called you, and I and my Father are one. So you came to take from me what is mine, and if you succeed in taking it, I still say you could not have come unless I called you. You could not have taken it unless I by my attitude toward life allowed it. So the whole vast world is myself pushed out. I either control it or I don’t control it.622 ¶37
And that’s the story of scripture. There is no other God than your own wonderful human Imagination. So when you speak of Jesus Christ and you bow you head mentally if not physically, do the same thing when you think in terms of your wonderful Imagination. For that is Jesus Christ, that is the Word of God who is God himself, and by your own wonderful human Imagination the world was created and that world is supported and sustained. It changes only as you change your Imagination. Believe that and you will live in a wonderful, beautiful world.622 ¶38
Now let us go into the Silence.622 ¶39

[...]622 ¶41
Well, my dear, I gave you tonight the words of God. I could give you no deeper than I gave you tonight: you are God. When you look into the mirror you see a lady and you say here is [...], and that’s the name you’ll answer to if I call you by it. But your name as told tonight is the Lord, God of hosts. Yet without loss of identity and though you are the Lord, God of hosts, you will respond to that name. You love the name. I respond to the name Neville. When I heard the heavenly chorus sing my praises when I was risen they called me by my name Neville. They said, “Neville is risen.” They didn’t say the Lord, God of hosts or God of hosts; they said Neville. So they’ll call you by name. You’re completely individualized and not in eternity will you cease to be. In fact, forever and forever you’ll be more and more individualized, so that you’re distinct and you’re not going to be absorbed into one body. You are that body, but you have your individual being. That’s the joy of brotherhood. I will know you in eternity and know you as one that I knew before that the world was. And like a great masquerade, it’s always hilarious when the mask comes off and we see who we love behind the mask that we did not recognize when they wore the mask. But when you have these experiences, [...], write them for me…write them out. Let me just dwell upon them for awhile, will you?622 ¶42
When you talk about identity, do you mean when you are aware of being? If when you awaken you don’t lose your identity, then your identity is like exactly where I am today?622 ¶43
Your true identity is the Lord Jesus Christ and that’s your true identity forever and forever. But the Lord Jesus Christ comes to us as one unknown yet in a mysterious manner he lets us experience who he is, and when we experience who he is we discover who we are. So without loss of identity you are the Lord Jesus Christ. I am still Neville and yet I have experienced everything said in scripture concerning the Lord Jesus Christ, including crucifixion. And it was not as painted in scripture, a sad event; it was ecstasy. It’s a joy beyond the wildest dream…no blood and water came out. There were six points in my body, but they were ecstatically done, whirling vortices, six not five…two feet, two hands, my head and my right side were vortices and the ecstasy that you enter into when you feel it! And this is only a remembrance. You can remember the event and relive it, but not to the extent that you do when you first lived it. This is only a remembrance, mind you, and yet the ecstasy was so great. So I tell you, we have been crucified with Christ. “It is not I who live but he who lives in me and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and became me” (Gal.2:20)…and that was God himself. So I could not lose my identity. I recall it vividly…it was the fulfillment of the 42nd chapter of the Book of Psalms. That was my triumphal journey into the holy city, when I heard the voice, and the crowd that I led in procession to the house of God. What the voice said to me and it was heard only by me from the depths of my own soul. Then came the crucifixion and it was ecstatic, it was beautiful…whirling vortices in my hands, my head, my right side, and the soles of my feet. So, far from being a sad event, it was a heavenly event! And the churches do not teach it that way. They have completely misrepresented the mystery, because the men who ran the churches are men without vision. You aren’t elected as a cardinal because you’ve had a mystical experience; you’re elected cardinal because of your capacity to raise enormous sums of money. If you can prove you’re a good business administrator and raise enormous sums of money, you are right in line for the next little cap. Don’t tell me any pope was elected in any other way than we now elect our presidents. This does not mean that he has any spiritual vision whatsoever…any more than Mr. Nixon has. I don’t think he would claim that he has. He was elected as a politician by pressure groups who have been promised that they would get certain things if he was successful in getting the election, and he has to keep his promise or not run the second time. Well, the pope is running for office in the same manner. It’s never unanimous. They go in there and spend hours, sometimes days, before the smoke comes through the chimney. If it was a unanimous decision from on high it would be automatic. It’s never a unanimous decision. How can God, who is one, not bring in a unanimous decision?622 ¶44
When you awake you find out your true identity, which is the Lord; then when I awake, my identity will be the Lord, which is the same as your identity—the true identity is the same for everyone—then how can you all raise up in a body with your own identity if it’s all the same?622 ¶45
Here, if you are the Father of my Son, are we not one being, though seemingly two? See, there’s only one Son and the one Father, so if all of us have the experience of being the Father of that one Son, we are one (2Sam.7:12-14). Now read carefully, and may I tell you, try to commit it to memory, the 17th chapter of the gospel of John: “I in them and they in me…that they may be one as we are one. And Father, I have made known to them thy name and will make it known” (17:23-25). The name he made known was “Father.” So I tell you, I dwell in you and I am the Father and I have a Son. If I dwell in you and I awake in you without changing your identity, I awaken you as Father. Then the same Son that called me “Father” when God awoke in me is the Son who’s going to call you “Father.” Well, if you are the Father of my son David, then he doesn’t have two fathers…there’s only one Father. Then you will realize the unity of humanity. And today, no matter what skin he wears, when he awakens and he is God the Father because of the Son calling him Father, and the same Son called me Father and I know I am his Father, you will have the same innate knowledge that you are the Father. This wisdom from above is without uncertainty, so you will know it. Well, knowing that you are the Father of that one Son who calls me Father, you will know when you look at me that you and I are one. And if you will ever forgive yourself for an act that you did wittingly or unwittingly and you heard that I had done it, you would know that you did it, and therefore you’ll forgive me. So, “Father, forgive them; they know not what they do” (Luke23:34). If you would like to be forgiven for an act which you heard that I had done and you would have the experience I have had, you would willingly forgive me, because you would know that you and I are one. There’s no other way that we would ever know the unity of being save through the Son revealing us as God the Father. And I’m telling you, and I’ve never read it before save in scripture—but I didn’t know it in scripture until I experienced it—that the true Son who reveals man as God the Father is David. It’s in scripture. You will realize that he called Jesus Christ “Father”…also in scripture. And so, when he calls you “Father,” though to the world you are a little person that is ignored, not worthy of a second glance…they pass by not knowing that they just passed one who knows he is the Lord Jesus Christ. Should they be told you are, they would not be impressed, because they’re judging from appearances and they do not know (1Sam.16:12). But go into a restaurant and say, “Look who’s over there,” and you say, “Well, who?” “Well, look at that person, know who he is?” And you don’t know. “Well, he has a billion dollars!” And of course, they’re so impressed because he has a billion dollars. They never tell you how he got it…that is hush-hush. The third generation from that inheritance will enter the social register and they will be in all the great books of the world because they have money. You will walk by having had the experience of being the Lord Jesus Christ and no one will know or care, because that’s not the Lord Jesus Christ that they are expecting. They’re expecting some being to come from without. He can never come from without: he comes from within and he allows the individual to experience who he is, and when you experience who he is, it’s who you are. That’s how he allows you to experience who he is. So you never see him as another; you can only experience him as yourself. When I hear Billy Graham getting up and saying that he hopes that he’ll live long enough to meet the second coming of Jesus Christ, and he’ll go forward and shake his hand. Well, millions hear his voice and he’s highly publicized and they go all for it…the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. When I read that in the New York Times, well, I could hardly believe that I’m seeing correctly. I reread it and reread it…yes, unless they misquoted him, which they could…but he’s waiting eagerly and hoping that he will live long enough, because he thinks that signs that are about now are the signs of the coming of the Lord for the second time. He hasn’t the slightest concept of the mystery of Jesus Christ. But I say that and they say, “Now what are you talking about, were you ordained?” Of course, knowing that they’re orthodox in mind, I say, “To the degree that Jesus Christ was ordained. Who ordained him?” What man had the power to put his hand upon his head and add anything to him…if you think of a personal Jesus Christ? Did he go to college? What college did he attend? Is it not said in the 7th chapter of John, “How can this man have such learning seeing that he is not schooled?” (7:15), so did he? Name the college. Was it Harvard? I don’t recall they said it was Harvard or Yale or Princeton or USC. I have no knowledge that he said these things. Well then…but his background…he tells you is not what the world thought it was…his background is God. He said, “I came out …the one you call God…but I know my Father and you know not your God.” Well, how can this be? We know his father and his mother and his brothers and his sisters, how can he make this claim? Well, I do the same thing. You know my father and my mother, two delightful people, gone from this world, but you know them…or you can investigate their backgrounds. You know my brothers, most of them are still here, and my sister. Well, how can he make these claims? So everything said of him I can claim, for I have experienced the identical story which is my personal spiritual auto-biography. Good night.622 ¶46
