Grace Roosevelt, who came to him monthly for private appointments in New York, could not open her Long Island home unless she rented out her New York apartment out of season; he told her to sleep that night in imagination in Long Island, and the next morning she phoned from Long Island to say a single man had taken the apartment at once, paid in advance, and demanded immediate possession.

Grace Roosevelt was killed instantly last week, aged about 73, in a car driven by her husband, who was unhurt; she had learned the Law from Neville but never came to his meetings because as a pillar of the Episcopal Church it would have been slumming.
