Events involving this person
At Neville's home the morning of his death the coroner, puzzled by the quantity of blood, questioned Carter about Neville's drinking and twice showed him the body — rigid on its back, arms outstretched, nude, napkin over a contorted face as if he had choked — saying Neville had apparently shed every drop of blood in his body, which Carter matched to his Judas vision. [Date evidence: morning of 1 October 1972; Carter also says two men in the family of the daughter's friends cleaned up the blood and he told them of his old vision "so that it was on record"] [Place: Neville's home (Los Angeles)]
The coroner kept asking me what had happened, he said, “Was Mr. Goddard a heavy drinker?” … he took me in to the part of the house that was closed off and there was Neville lying on his back in a rigid position with his arms stretched out like this, nude with a napkin over his face, and the coroner said, “We don’t understand all the blood. See?” and with that he reached down and picked up the napkin and showed me and there was the image which I had seen in my dream all those years before. A terrible contorted expression on his face as if he had choked to death. … The coroner said, “Apparently he shed every drop of blood in his body”.

Carter hesitated to tell the dignified Neville the fool-vision, but when he did, Neville's eyes danced with delight because he knew Scripture so thoroughly he recognized himself as the fool. [Date evidence: before Neville's death (pre-Oct 1972) — no firmer anchor]
I hesitated to tell him because you know how dignified he was. But I told him anyway, and his eyes just danced because he knew. He knew Scripture so thoroughly that he knew that he was the fool.

The coroner questioned Carter about Neville's drinking — the daughter interjecting that he had been a heavy drinker a few years earlier but not in recent years — and Carter attested Neville had not even finished his second drink; the coroner said they did not understand all the blood. [Date evidence: the morning after Neville's death (1 Oct 1972)] [Place: Neville's home, Los Angeles]
The coroner questioned me, was Mr. Goddard a heavy drinker? With that, his daughter broke in. She said, he used to be a few years ago, but not in recent years. The coroner asked me again, did he have a lot to drink last night? I said no. Then I suddenly remembered everything that had happened about the drinks, the fact that he didn't even finish his second drink. I said, he didn't even finish his second drink. He gave it to me. Why are you asking me all these questions? The coroner said, we don't understand all the blood.

The next morning Neville's daughter, who had come to take him to pick up Mrs. Goddard, phoned Carter saying 'I think Daddy went during the night'; Carter rushed over to find the body sealed off and the coroner, county officials, family and friends present. [Date evidence: the morning after Neville's death (historically 1 Oct 1972); Carter did not witness the death itself] [Place: Neville's home]
So the next morning, the phone rang, and it was his daughter, and she had come to get him to go pick up Mrs. Goddard, and she said, Frank, I think Daddy went during the night. Can you come over? I said, certainly, I'm on my way. So I rushed over, and when I got there, the body had already been sealed off. The authorities were there — the coroner, the county officials, and members of the family, and the daughter's friends.

Visiting the home the week after the death, Carter found a note prominently displayed beside Neville's big black leather armchair — three scripture quotations and one short sentence declaring the Last Supper his true experience and that Judas betrayed the messianic secret. [Date evidence: the week following Neville's death (early October 1972)] [Place: Neville's home, Los Angeles]
The following week I was in the home. Mrs. Goddard had returned from the hospital, and I went close to his big black leather armchair, the place where he spent so much of his time. There, prominently displayed beside the armchair on the table, was a note. There were three scripture quotations in one short sentence. This is my true experience of the Last Supper. Judas betrayed the messianic secret.

The week after the death, on a Thursday, Carter found a handwritten note beside Neville's armchair citing Isaiah 53:1, declaring 'This is my true experience of the Last Supper. Judas betrayed the messianic secret', and quoting Amos 8 and Isaiah 22:22-25 — which Carter took as Neville's message that his death fulfilled Scripture. [Date evidence: 'the following week... on Thursday' — the first Thursday after Neville's death (Oct 1972)] [Place: Neville's home, beside his armchair]
The following week I was in his home, and I happened to go near his armchair, where he spent so much of his time, and there beside his armchair was a note. The note read, Isaiah 53, first verse, who hath believed our reports. Following that were the words, This is my true experience of the Last Supper. Judas betrayed the messianic secret. ... Now this note I found on Thursday.

The Thursday of the week after Neville's death Carter found beside Neville's armchair a handwritten note citing Isaiah 53:1, declaring "This is my true experience of the last supper. Judas betrayed the Messianic secret", and quoting Amos 8:11 and Isaiah 22:22–25 — which Carter took as Neville signalling he knew his death would fulfil scripture. [Date evidence: "The following week … this note I found on Thursday" — Thursday after 1 Oct 1972, i.e. 5 October 1972; Carter opens the document saying Neville "left two documents. One is a formal document and the other is a handwritten note"] [Place: Neville's home, beside his armchair]

Answering a question, Carter dated Neville's death to April-Fool's-Day-exact three and a half years earlier — October 1st 1972 — and said Neville was "here" (Los Angeles) from 1954 until his departure. [Date evidence: gives death date 1 October 1972 and LA residence from 1954; the 3.5-year remark also dates this Q&A to on/just after 1 April 1976 (the lecture series' third lecture is dated 6/20/76)]
Where did this man Neville teach and when did he pass away? Was that long ago or lately? It was exactly three and a half years April Fool’s Day. Again, the fool. He, I believe, was here from 1954, to the time of his departure in 1972, October the 1st 1972.
