About eight months earlier his publishers Jack and Grace were watching a documentary on television; Grace, unwell and tired, dozed and repeated aloud 'I must remember what Neville said,' and on coming to she recalled the words 'Do not be afraid…I am with you always, to the close of the age' — the last verse of Matthew.
