Back in New York Neville told the Barbados story from the Town Hall platform, and a man in the audience set out to disprove the principle by imagining he climbed a ladder — four days later a friend asked him to climb a ladder to move a picture, and he nearly fell off in his astonishment.

Answering a question about dreams, Neville recounts the dream of a fair, blue-eyed Nordic woman of his own age whom he has known some eight years and who is in the audience: she dreamed of a dead Nordic couple she had known, the engineer husband and wife each turning Negro and back, and of sleeping reversed in her bed — which he reads as the great reversal of man being transformed into God.

Neville was present the morning a woman he loved received the revelation "Stop spending your thoughts, your time and your money"; he put it into the chapter "The Coin of Heaven" in Awakened Imagination, and she afterwards confessed to him she never practised it herself.

A young lawyer of thirty, penniless, began attending Neville's lectures and imagined himself controlling the Berkeley Savings and Loan Company; within six months he controlled it and doubled its assets, then sold out, built four hotels in Hawai'i and is now president of the company building the Comstock co-op on Nob Hill, and he wrote Neville a letter saying his conviction came from listening to the lectures.
