A woman who had never met Neville came for an interview to find a friend missing over a year; he had her imagine telling him she had found her, and after fruitless trips to New Haven and Boston she ran into the friend on 14th Street opposite Kline's in New York.

David tells the audience that Neville has allowed him to record many of the lectures, and that he sat in the apartment house playing them over and over, wearing out several sets of batteries, to keep his mind off fear while waiting for the sale.

Neville recounts that he told this friend's story at his previous Tuesday lecture, that the friend is a professional writer who was told in vision to use his Imagination for another as he does when writing a story, and that the friend wrote him a second letter completing it.

A writer friend of Neville's went to bed asking "Who am I?", answered "I am Christ", and in sleep received a communication telling him to use his Imagination for another the way he uses it writing a story - to become the other; he practised it on friend after friend and then a voice said "Tell this to Neville!", which he did a week before this lecture.

He recalls the story his friend Bob shared with him from the platform two weeks earlier — that Bob occupied the body of a friend in imagination and assumed for that friend what the friend could not assume for herself.

Neville's friend learned at the studio that his long-time director had suffered a stroke that paralysed one side, impaired his speech and erased ten years of memory; after taking the news as a physical blow he entered the director's body with the technique and revised the whole picture, and the studio later reported the man recovering rapidly with his memory returned.

Neville's friend imagined himself as a young waitress receiving a new car - and her mother bought her one of that make and colour; but when he re-entered her body unkindly to free her of a man she depended on, he was trapped in her form for six hours, his wife asking "Who are you, 'cause you're not my husband!", and after twelve hours' sleep a voice woke him saying "I have restored my soul."

Three weeks before, on a Friday night, a man who had brought his family of seven made an appointment to see Neville the following Tuesday, and after hearing the statement about assuming 'I am Jesus Christ' never kept it, never phoned and never wrote.

Neville says the friend told him other stories too, all in conflict with human wisdom, and that he has the friend's permission to tell them when the mood takes him.

A real-estate saleswoman who had attended five of his lectures since December wrote him a letter describing how she imagined herself inside a large Spanish house with her clients for six consecutive nights, after which her client phoned about exactly that house, which they bought at their price.

Neville's friend, a writer present in the audience, was told in a vision to help another by playing all the parts as in writing a play; he tried it for a woman who needed a car and she received the identical make, colour and convertible top he had imagined, but when he later tried without love to remove a man from her life he was locked in her body for six hours and slept twelve hours afterwards, and wrote Neville a second letter warning the audience to do it only in love.

He reads out a letter from a woman who, lying on the floor in May 1965, left her body and viewed an eighteenth-century country scene with a horse-drawn carriage and people frozen in the act of motion, knowing her presence held them still, and a voice told her 'Paris 1778'.

A woman who acted on his instruction of the previous Friday to fall asleep in the assumption "I am Jesus Christ" called on him at home the day before the lecture, bubbling over, to tell him that on one night she heard an entire audible lecture on Peter, James and John as faith, hope and love, on another felt Blake's presence saying "You become what you behold", and on another saw herself in a full-length mirror as a being of impossible beauty.
