Description
In 1950 Neville told his Harvard-educated brother-in-law Sam, a New York banker, to sleep each night in the assumption that he was investing large sums of money; while Neville was away in Barbados for three months Sam was offered a job at twice his salary and began an investment career handling the Rockefeller brothers' portfolios, yet he never accepted that what he had done was Jesus.

Description
In 1951 Neville's brother-in-law Sam, stuck in the Trust Department of the Bank of New York and unable to see how to put his two children through college, came to him for help; Neville told him to sleep each night in the feeling of a heavenly day investing enormous funds, and while Neville was away three months in Barbados Sam was offered the job managing the Rockefeller brothers' private funds.

Description
Neville wrote Sam's story in one of his books and gave him a copy; on later visits he found the book put on a top shelf out of reach and then out of sight altogether, because as a Harvard man Sam could not believe a man with no college education had helped him.

Sam confirms he imagined nightly despite discouragement
Description
Neville describes his continuing close friendship with Sam - they have never once spoken of the principle since, and Sam says grace by rote at dinner - and reports that when questioned Sam told him he imagined every night no matter how tired or disillusioned he was.
