Black Jewish traveller from 'Macomby, Egypt' near Cairo, reported in a South Bend Times item reprinted as 'A Negro Jew'; questioned by Rabbi Weinstein in Goshen, Indiana and found to be a genuine Jew; said to have served in the Greek army in the Greco-Turkish war. Probably the same itinerant man reported elsewhere under other newspaper spellings (Waltzkowitz, Valskabomann, Volskovitz, Lescovitz).
