Description
About five weeks before this lecture, a woman who had been married more than forty years came to Neville in the hall after her husband had suddenly left her for another woman. She asked him to bring her husband back, and Neville told her he would raise the matter in that night's period of Silence. While he sat in the Silence for about a minute, her husband -- who had gone as far as Palm Springs -- turned his car around, came home, took her hand, and asked her to join him there, arriving before she had even returned from the lecture.

Description
A woman called Neville the day before this lecture to thank him for a request she had made two and a half weeks earlier, on the morning of 29 December, when he had spoken with a Dr. Palmer: she had asked to be released from a certain problem. Neville had simply imagined, in advance, that she had already called with good news, and she did — sharing that a friend of hers, who wintered in New Mexico in a trailer, had likewise seen a difficult situation resolve.

Description
Neville tells of a man who, starting from nothing in 1924, imagined his own family's name in place of another's on a building he wanted -- persuading himself he was reading an ownership claim that was not really there -- and eventually acquired it when a stranger appeared on the very day of its foreclosure sale.
