In 'Mental Diets', Neville tells of a woman in his New York audience who, after being turned out of her daughter-in-law's home two years earlier and receiving no correspondence in that time despite sending her grandson repeated gifts, applied the law of revision: each night for seven nights she mentally composed two letters, one imagined from her grandson and one from her daughter-in-law, expressing reconciliation.
