His friend Bob Keeler showed him a letter Bob had received from the ninety-three-year-old philosopher Douglas Fawcett, to whom Bob had written and sent two of Neville's books, and Fawcett replied about Imaginism and revision.

Neville recounts the story of a young, thirty-year-old lawyer without funds who, after attending his lectures, resolved to use his imagination to gain control of the multimillion-dollar Berkeley Savings and Loan Company, though he had no connection to the firm at the time. Within six months he was in control and had doubled the company's assets; he later sold his stake, moved into real-estate development, built four hotels in Hawaii, and was, by the time of this telling, building a 120-unit co-op on Nob Hill named after the Comstock Lode. Neville cites the lawyer's own letter crediting his imagination, learned from these lectures, for the whole chain of results.
