A woman wrote to Neville describing a vision in which she saw him and a lady leave a glorious mansion in a white car, and then a second dream of brides in a department store buying brides' Bibles and being married by proxy, one saying she was going to Paris while the dreamer said she was getting married next month.

Another woman wrote of a vision in which she took her son to see a new pond holding a small shaggy white dog, took the dog out and dried it, then found it had returned to the water and knew to leave it there; Neville reads the dog as faith and the water as the psychological meaning of scripture.

Neville recalls that after his prominent New York father-in-law died, his widow received hundreds of letters from strangers claiming he had ordered goods and promised payment — many misspelling his name — and her lawyer told her to ignore them because people made a living that way.

Neville reads out a dream sent to him by a man who saw Neville on the platform shooting four golden arrows into him - resurrection, David, ascension, and a white dove - followed by a second dream in which a stranger promised to come for him on the seventeenth; Neville later calls this man his friend.

A lady's dream, related to Neville, in which she walked with members of his lecture group and met successive groups of people - mournful Catholics, stern fundamentalists, and friendly seekers - and told the seekers that God is found by pointing to one's own forehead.

A lady writes to Neville of a dream in which she fed a houseful of people, found a shovel, pitchfork and rake at her door, and watched a dead friend's husband in uniform lead a white horse into her house; then a white dog she tucked in like a baby; then, after waking at six and sleeping again, a man who opened the top of his head to show a tiny crowned head growing inside his skull.

Another lady writes of a dream in which she watched a child by a cavern of running water while Neville stood high above them, and heard the words 'Can a man bear a child?' - words Neville identifies as Jeremiah 30.

A lady's vision, related to Neville, of standing in a huge corral with half a human carcass hanging on the open gatepost, which filled her with a feeling of infinite freedom; Neville reads it as the torn curtain of the temple.

A lady wrote to Neville that she dozed off for a moment and found herself naked in a rudderless boat on a turbulent sea, climbing the mast to spread her arms on the crossbar and use her body as the sail; Neville tells her she is in labour, and remarks on his thrill at receiving such letters.

Neville relates what his friend Bob told him: Bob found himself in another world where at lunch hour people took a small card from their pocket, wrote on it what they wanted to eat, replaced it, and then showed heavenly expressions as they enjoyed invisible food.

Neville reports that two people present in his audience have had the birth experience — one with no witness, and a lady with three witnesses: two brothers and a friend she thinks of as a brother.

Neville recounts a dream told him by a lady friend in which her mother's husband, who was also her father, was missing; she and her mother were entertained by four little men one foot high, one of whom she recognised as her father, and she awoke sobbing knowing he was not free to identify himself — which Neville interprets as Ezekiel's four-faced man.

Neville recalls someone telling him they had given up all belief in numerology and astrology, and then immediately reasoning from the moon passing Venus in their second house.

Neville describes a letter from a lady recounting a long dream full of scriptural symbols — rising crystal-clear water, logs carried vertically, a dog with a human face, a rope becoming a serpent — which he interprets as the mystery of salvation.

Neville reports a letter from another lady who woke laughing after hearing words telling her that knowing you are God only requires expansion, which he connects to Blake's Jerusalem.

A friend told Neville a dream: his birthday party with two large cakes, a cake and all the guests vanishing, then a beach where a friend pointed to people on a rock out to sea and said they got there "Mentally", after which he mentally moved a frightened child onto the big rock; the dream ended in a lecture hall where Neville came down a stairway, took his hands and greeted him as "chosen one".
