A lady present in the audience gave Neville, the previous Friday night, her account of waking from a profound sleep with only Neville in her mind, recalling a dream in which 'that man Neville' talked on and on about the Father and the Son, and feeling as though she were a puzzle a piece of which had been put back into its original place.

He recounts the morning's eight o'clock television news, which showed pictures of Hughes and Getty and reported that their private fortunes of over a billion dollars each would yield $175,000 a day at six percent.

Neville tells of Bill Donovan, a prejudiced man who went blind-drunk alcoholic while really searching for God, joined AA, has not drunk for a dozen years, and took Neville out to dinner where he explained that he and his wife Becky, who met in AA, never touch a drop.

Benny came home on Saturday and told Neville of a vision he had had two days earlier, in which six violent men with knives and healed scars came at him; he told one of them the violence was wrong, and the man answered that even if he wanted to stop it, he could not.

In New York City this past May he told his audience they must be doers of the word, and a longtime student, estranged for two years from her son and daughter-in-law Mary, went home and for seven nights imagined reading two letters she had mentally written herself - one from her daughter-in-law and one from her grandson - and on the eighth morning received exactly those two letters in the mail; she gave him permission to tell the story, and his audience objected in the question period to the idea of writing one's own love letters.

A San Francisco ship's captain and pilot, whom he had met backstage after one of his meetings, wrote to him - the letter arrived yesterday morning - recalling how the Union had restricted him to certain waters by seniority; Neville had had him imagine the lecture room was the bridge of his ship at sea, and the man is now in Vancouver carrying lumber down to Panama with a year's work ahead of him.

A friend told Neville that he had loaned Neville's book Out Of This World to a black actor about to give up the theater; the man did not believe it until Neville autographed a book for him with Blake's line about persisting in folly, after which he persisted in claiming success and won a Greyhound commercial, movie and TV contracts, the Diahann Carroll show, and a pilot for Danny Thomas.

The same woman's third story: her friend's maid, twenty-five pounds overweight at 165 and unable to lose a pound, was heard by the woman as weighing 140; some months later the maid had gone down to 140 and then 139, and the woman then set out to put her at 135.

A woman present tonight with her husband told Neville (in a letter received Friday night) that she woke as though pushed up into a seated position, screaming in the Spirit "Love conquereth all things and is kind" while her husband slept undisturbed beside her; Neville asked her last Friday night to keep sending such letters.

Watching the televised feature race the previous week, he heard the young jockey Angel Cordova say after winning that riding ability has nothing to do with it - it is all in feeling lucky - which Neville takes as an unwitting use of Christ, the human imagination.

Two penniless women who came to his meetings - one on the West Coast, one in New York City - were told only to assume the feeling of financial security; one met a man she had known intimately thirty-odd years earlier who set up a trust fund for her, and the second, hearing that story, assumed she had plenty and had money coming in within a week.

A newspaperman told Neville that the scientist Robert Millikan had, while still poor, condensed his dream of greatness into a present-tense statement and repeated it until it filled his mind.

A woman friend with an extraordinarily keen ear telephoned Neville the day of the lecture, distressed: she had 'played back the record' for a male neighbour who wanted to be rid of a disturbing family nearby, and within days that couple were killed on the highway, leaving three children.

Louise telephoned Neville from New York at three in the afternoon to tell him that her husband Joseph, aged 77, had died of a ruptured aorta in her arms and in the arms of their son Neville, Neville Goddard's namesake.

He recounts a letter he received that week from a lady who dreamed of her joyless children sitting in a bare room waiting for their father, until word came that the father's work was finished and would not return; the scene then changed to a farm house where her eldest son ran in joyfully saying he had created for himself, and all the children came alive.

Neville's friend Freedom, asked for money by a stranger in San Francisco, refused but imagined the man gainfully employed; four months later the same man stopped him in the street to thank him for not giving him the money, saying he had got a job that very day.

Neville's wife had a vision one night of a grove whose panels (not doors) became animated and gave out beautiful human forms that began the dance of life; it turned into a dramatic, tragic dance and so frightened her that she woke herself, but she recorded what she had seen.

A writer friend told Neville he was shown in vision that helping another in imagination is like writing a play in which you play every part; he tried it the next day for a woman who needed a car, she was given the money for the identical convertible, but on a second attempt he was locked in her body for six hours and slept twelve unbroken hours, and wrote again asking Neville to warn the audience to do it only in love.

A lady who attends occasionally wrote asking help to sell her late husband's multiple-unit property for $650,000; Neville assumed she had sold it, and months later she wrote thanking him because everything had worked.

A friend wrote to him that her family had for eight years called the Sears Christmas catalog the 'Wish Book', and enclosed a card showing the catalog is now officially named 'The Sears Wish Book'.

Neville reads out a letter from a woman present at the lecture who, awake within a dream, found herself on a slab in a morgue where Neville appeared as a physician with a black-haired nurse she recognised as his wife in a wig, and had union with her; he interprets it as her supernatural conception and tells her to record the date in her Bible beside Luke 1:35.

Neville reports that his friend Benny telephoned him the previous night to say he had seen David in a dream on March 6th, the very day Neville had foretold; Benny recognised a boy of about fourteen as David, who called him Father, and Neville now prophesies Benny's ascent for July 8th.

The night before, at a 250-man motorcycle club party in the same hall, a woman walked into the kitchen with a left coat claiming her brother had left it; the supervisor Mr. Harrison caught the lie about her brother's employer and took the coat back.

In the same letter, a real-estate saleswoman tells Neville how she instructed a client whose Valley house would not sell to imagine riding a horse in San Francisco each night; an offer came in two weeks later on exactly her terms, the family moved, and the woman later bought her dream home and said imagining creates reality.

A friend wrote Neville a letter, received the day before, confessing a dream in which he had an affair with his stepdaughter, which had haunted him for two weeks; Neville answers that on that level nothing is immoral and that the friend is blessed, having received from her the spiritual qualities he admired.

Neville retells and reports the confirmation of a woman named Laura who, floating on her back in a swimming pool, felt his presence and felt that she was Neville while remaining herself, and said she would from then on say 'I' and not 'we'.
