A man who attends Neville's meetings wrote to him that when his wife told him a fourteen-month-old girl had been diagnosed with cancer by five doctors, he tuned his wife out, revised the story in his imagination until he heard her voice give a different verdict, and days later the diagnosis was reversed.

Neville recounts a letter he received the past week from a friend in the audience who, sitting in a barber's chair, imagined the fourth-chair barber to the top of his profession; the barber bought out the shop and then won prizes at a San Francisco contest, and the friend has told Neville in advance of contests to come in Southern California, Miami and Brussels.

A young woman studying music, who wants to be a composer, handed Neville a letter last Friday night describing a dream in which her father gave her three records and told her to keep two and give the third to a much older man she loves, whose birthday had just passed; the sheet of music bore the composer's name Elam (Olam) and the title "Christ" — and Neville expounds it as the eternal youth David composing about himself.

A woman wrote him a letter this week describing a vision in which she was in a large class he was teaching; he handed her a paper asking what the most important thing in her was, she wrote 'I AM', and he told her to go to the top of the class — and in a further vision that night a figure whose shoulder she wept on, over her mother's opposition to her marrying, told her 'Your faith is your love.'

A friend named Marta saw Neville's transformed body clothed in power, recognising his earthly face in it, and departed this world a month or two later, two years ago while he was in San Francisco.

Neville reads from a letter given to him that week by a friend in the audience, who imagined his barber — the lowest man of four in the shop — to the top, after which the barber bought out the boss and then won trophies at a San Francisco contest, and who now tells Neville in advance that the barber will win in Southern California, Miami and Brussels.

He recounts reading in yesterday morning's paper about a 47-year-old man with a personal fortune of over five billion dollars who shot himself under the strain of a huge merger of Swedish banks.

A woman present at the lecture told Neville during the past week of a vision she had had the previous November, in which she saw him standing on a beach with his back to the ocean, in a white robe, addressing an enormous crowd of many faiths, knowing simultaneously that he was Neville and that he was Jesus.

On his way out to the lecture that evening Neville turned on the radio for a news bulletin and heard that Ahmanson, aged sixty-one and on vacation in Europe, had dropped dead, leaving three hundred million.

Neville recounts reading in a current magazine that week an article by Father Schaffer, a priest of fourteen years, then suspended, who wants to quit the Catholic Church and its rituals, recalling his own ordination at twenty when his family knelt before him and wept.

Neville tells how his friend and publisher Grace, unwell two years earlier, dozed while watching a travelogue on TV and on waking said aloud that she must remember what Neville said — 'I am with you always to the end of the age' — which he identifies as the words of the risen Christ.

Neville reads a letter that came that week from a woman who dreamed of building a crooked pathway of squares and triangles up an enormous mountain to find the Father, heard a voice say 'Be', later 'I am the Father', and later still that she was a priestess after the order of Melchizadek — and he answers her from the platform.

The same correspondent writes that in July, fully awake after dinner, she thought of Neville — believing him still in Barbados, since he had left in March and said he would not return until the fall — and he suddenly stood before her in a grey business suit, said 'There is no time', and vanished.

He reads out a letter received that past week from a woman in his audience, describing a dream in which she alone had a lighted house in a dark street, followed grey puppet-like people up a hill where a lion-maned man with a light over his head called each person's name three times and none could answer, and a cold receptionist told her the sleeping people were in a house that was not their own.

A friend present at the lecture told him that about ten years earlier, while driving, everything became nothing but light with infinity falling in tiny tadpole-like forms, he heard within him "All is one," stopped the car by reflex, and told the angry passing drivers that everything was all right; Neville tells him he was genuinely illumined and instructs him how to arrest one of the falling lights.

A woman from the Palisades, absent that night, walked along the beach the previous week and found in turn a tiny ring of a serpent swallowing itself, a small silver cross off a necklace, and a little wooden chalice; she brought all three and Neville saw them in the little room behind the lecture hall.

Neville reads out and then expounds a letter he received a few weeks earlier from a dear friend — a humorous writer and long-time student of his message — describing a voice within proclaiming 'I am God' and a dream in which he threw golf balls into an empty desert to create homes, a golf course and a gate, and could only change a dilapidated house and streetcar by persisting.

Neville reads a man's two dreams sent to him — pulling many feet of wire out of his own neck after shaving in Paris, and finding a name on a long list and marking it with an asterisk — and interprets them from Jeremiah and Isaiah as the yoke being taken off his own neck and the great honor of God unveiling himself in him.

Neville relates a woman's letter and vision — a first part he will not tell publicly, which he says means she has conceived of the Holy Spirit, followed the same night by a wharf rat that turned into a small white animal which bit her thumb, which she threw into the field, saying she must show it to Dr. Neville — and interprets the white mouse through Bayley and Cinderella.

Neville reads out a letter received that week from a woman who felt his presence in her home the previous Sunday night, saw lights like fireflies, then dreamt of a tape recorder wheel which she stopped and started by arresting the activity of her imagination, feeling something open and expand above her head each time; he interprets the wheel as divine reunion.
