A Special Delivery letter reached him in the morning's mail from a woman present at the lecture, recounting two visions: a bare room filling with real pearls and a voice telling her 'He will find you', and a crowd where she refused a million dollars rather than deny that imagining creates reality, after which her eldest daughter - an ardent Catholic who personifies reason to her and calls Neville only 'him', the anti-Christ - asked why she had not taken it and given it to her.

Description
Over Sunday dinner with two friends who both worked at RCA's Los Angeles showroom -- one in the Whirlpool Division, one in Television -- Neville learned that the Whirlpool employee, after two years of honest and faithful work including an outstanding sales record through the entire Christmas rush, was let go around the end of 1964. Neville uses the story, and the friend's own question about whether imagination must be applied consciously to work, to illustrate that the imagination governs outcomes whether or not a person deliberately directs it.

Description

A friend shares an appointed-day experience with Neville
Description
Neville relates a story a friend shared with him that week: the friend, whose father had died when he was eight and who had felt like an outsider all his life -- at school, then in business -- reached what Neville calls 'the third, appointed day'.
