A week earlier Neville told from the platform the story of a man present in the audience who doubled his salary, then received money without working, then grew a tree in his living room that nurserymen said could not grow there.

An investment broker in Neville's audience told him how, after reading a newspaper story about a dishonest broker, he revised it and bathed in the feeling of being trustworthy, and was then asked by a client he had never met to become co-trustee of his estate.

A woman wrote to Neville describing two visions in one night: seeing a figure that turned out to be herself collapse in a faint which she lowered to the ground, and then seeing that same self rising head and arms first out of the earth.

Neville tells of a second letter, from a man kept away by the weather, who dreamed friends told him the all-powerful silver serpent was in his room, and that searching would not find it - it would find him.

A woman telephones Neville again and again complaining that the people where she works do not like her, and however often he puts her into the state of being loved she falls back and calls him a week later.

Neville reads out a letter from R. Crutcher describing a dream in which Neville led him from a hill where enemies shot at him from among vines to the back of the house, where the hill had become a field of harvested wheat; in the dream Neville told him he had been there two years and had learned how to move and discipline.

A woman writes to Neville that after his story of the harvest she assumed security on going to bed and dreamed of leading a child and an old woman through a parting wall to a blazing fireplace, and days later dreamed of a harvested wheat field with a few matured stalks left and three buffalo she did not fear.

A woman writes that in her dream she revised scene after scene and saw them change before her eyes, then on waking, communing with herself, was told to move into the state of love and felt herself falling backwards until she broke it by opening her eyes.

Neville reads a letter from a woman living north of San Francisco who flew to Los Angeles to attend his lecture, met a man over coffee afterwards who offered to buy her a steak, heard an inner voice say 'This is your husband', and married him the following January; the man added his own account of wearing a pawn-shop wedding band nightly while imagining he was happily married.

Neville recounts his friend Bob's experience of two years earlier, in which Bob asked how long he had been there and Neville told him two years, through conflict, and that what he had learned was how to move.

Neville recounts the vision of a lady known to him - a young mother of two expecting her third child, who three years earlier had received his eyes in vision - in which she confronted a man dressed in black whom she recognised as the embodiment of fear, struck him, remembered an ancient dream of a tree, and knew herself to be Paul and Jesus Christ.

The same man who sent the Denver story wrote to Neville about a woman who could not get a job because of her age; he imagined she told him she had a good job she loved, told her not to lie about her age, and in forty-eight hours she was employed by the Civil Service.

He begins to cite a man named Tom as a living example, saying nothing would remove certain marks from his skin, but the tape runs out.
