An artist wrote to Neville describing a steady freelance career designing for Lanz and Bullock's, work she never sought but which simply came to her; the previous year she had earned close to $4,000 from Lanz alone. Over the six months before her letter, orders had dried up, and after a three-week vacation she called Lanz only to learn they had hired a new art director at $650 a month and were told not to expect work from them for at least a year.

A correspondent's letter, read aloud by Neville in 'Down to the Sea in Ships' (1967-04-14), states she began attending his lectures last September after being told she had cataracts; she then applied his teaching by imagining perfect eyesight, and a later examination found no cataracts and no astigmatism.

A woman living some sixty miles north of San Francisco, married and divorced four times, formed a specific mental image in September 1966 of a husband who would love and respect both her and her teenage son and would share Neville's teaching. The next month she flew on impulse to Los Angeles to attend his lecture, and afterward, over coffee with a small group, a man beside her offered to buy her a steak; looking at him, she heard an inner voice say, "This is your husband." They married the following January. In his own addendum to her letter, the man — sober nine years after a struggle with alcohol — revealed that he too had bought a plain gold band that same September and had worn it nightly while imagining himself already happily married, unaware she was doing the same.

The same correspondent whose mountain vision Neville read aloud also wrote that the previous September she heard an inner voice call her a priestess after the order of Melchizedek. Neville used her account to discuss Melchizedek's biblical meaning (king of righteousness and peace) and Galatians 3:27-28, concluding that priest or priestess makes no difference once one is incorporated into the body of Christ -- "no male or female in Christ."

A correspondent wrote to Neville that after hearing him speak, on the night of 18 October, about breaking down the 'wall of partition' to become one new man, something in her was powerfully stirred, prompting her to check her dream journal -- which she keeps largely unconsciously, often not recognizing what she has written until the next day. There she found an entry from 10 September describing a violent inner explosion, as though a bomb had gone off, piercing her ears. From that experience, she said, she dated the beginning of a clearer, more intimate communion with God: no longer like a dream, but like an ongoing conversation in which she asks questions and receives answers drawn from scripture.

He tells of two men from his own meetings who applied the law at Caliente: one who owed a thousand dollars with no credit made $87,000, and another, whose hand was cold as ice, confessed to Neville after hearing a man testify from his platform that he had misspent borrowed money in a failed business, was told he could do the same, and made $54,000 in one month; both then forgot the Word of God.

An investment broker in Neville's audience, prompted by a story Neville had told the week before, recalled his own experience: after reading a newspaper account of a dishonest broker, he had revised the story in his own mind and resolved that every client of his would feel absolute trust in him. On September 28th, a man he had never met telephoned out of the blue and placed an investment order, which he carried out; the same client later asked him, the previous Friday, to serve as his trustee -- all from a stranger who knew him only through that one transaction.

A correspondent's letter, read aloud in this 1967 lecture, describes imagining a pink slip proving her car was paid in full lying on her dining room table; going to the mailbox afterward, she found that very pink slip waiting for her. It is the first of a short series of manifestations she reports using the same method (assuming the wish fulfilled and 'keeping the sabbath' by not dwelling on the outcome), the later ones involving a house sale and a trip to her mother's.

A real-estate agent's client had failed to sell her Valley home for a month, with the family already anxious to join her husband, who had been transferred to San Francisco. The agent suggested she imagine, every night before sleep, that she was already riding a horse in San Francisco -- assuming the feeling of the wish fulfilled. Two weeks later the client called with an offer on the house at exactly the price, terms, and escrow period she had wanted.

Neville reads a letter from a friend who sells real estate. A family of five being transferred to San Francisco could not sell their Valley home; when the anxious wife kept calling with no offers, the friend had her nightly imagine herself already in San Francisco, mounting and riding a horse as vividly as she remembered past visits to Los Angeles. Two weeks later the wife reported an offer at exactly the price and terms she wanted, and the sale closed the very next day. The wife herself concluded, 'I now know that imagining creates reality.'

A broker in Neville's audience, present a week earlier when Neville told the story of a man who doubled his salary and grew a tree nurserymen said couldn't grow indoors, was reminded of his own experience: some months before, having read a newspaper story about a dishonest investment broker, he had revised it in his imagination, picturing every client feeling absolute trust in him instead. He forgot all about it until September 28, when a stranger called wanting to invest through him on a friend's recommendation. Then, on the day he first heard Neville tell the story, he called his office that same afternoon before coming to the lecture and learned that his new client wanted him to become a co-trustee of his entire estate, based on nothing more than a feeling of trust.
