A woman told Neville last Friday night of a dream in which, before a huge crowd on a hillside, a man challenged anyone to disprove his knowledge of the Bible, and she rose and quoted Matthew 22 on how Christ can be both David's Lord and David's son, explaining that Christ is the Father and David the Son.

Another woman gave Neville a letter on Friday describing weeks of double vision - a lighted roadway seen in her living room, and a tall white-robed being holding a lamp through whose eyes she looked to see her husband asleep on the bed - and asked whether she could be that glorious being.

Last Friday night a friend told Neville of a mystical experience in which, as a young man in rooms over the sea, he began to post a letter to his mother, remembered she was dead, and was told by a lady that the undertaker, not his mother, had been paying for the rooms.

A letter received this week from a gentleman who, after long postponing an objective problem, constructed and rehearsed a scene implying its solution, then dreamed of a party congratulating a young man who said it was so easy he simply did what he should have done long ago.

Neville reads out a letter recently sent to him by a woman who felt his presence one Sunday night, then dreamed of watching a tape recorder and found that when she stopped the reel in her imagination it froze, and that she expanded when she did so and had to contract her senses again before the reel would move.

A week before the lecture Neville received a letter from a lady recounting a dream in which she was twenty, newly married, living in the Basque country among shepherds, travelling by truck with her in-laws to a heavenly green valley, whereupon her father-in-law grew tall and young, his face became brilliant and she dissolved into the brilliance - which Neville interprets as her playing the part of Tamar and entering the mainstream.

A woman brought Neville a letter on Monday night recounting a doubled dream from the previous Friday night: a tall gray-haired man in an Inverness cape stepped from a self-propelled carriage and spoke only of power, and she knew he was both God and Neville; in the re-dreamed version she was struck by a polished topaz, lost her friend Marge Broome, her car, her money and the topaz, then remembered his teaching, imagined herself with Neville, and was instantly in his home telling him the dream.

The day before the lecture Neville read that a man in Ohio who claimed to have traced his ancestry back to David had died at the age of 84 or 85, which he calls nonsense if meant secularly.

A correspondent wrote that after hearing Neville lecture the Friday night before, she went to bed and dreamed herself in a remote, unfamiliar place, seated in a large glass-fronted, marble-pillared room, when a tall, gray-haired man of evident power and authority arrived by carriage and began speaking; she recognized him as both Neville and God at once. After he departed and she woke, she wrote the dream down, resolved to tell Neville, and fell back asleep into a second dream in which her friend Marge Broome appeared and she was struck in the forehead by a large polished topaz -- which a man told her she could sell for money -- before again setting out to tell Neville what she had seen.

Answering a question, Neville confirms that the lady's dream of the man embodying power -- whom she recognized as both Neville and God -- came to her, according to her Monday-night letter, sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning. He adds that the man's cape recalled his own experience of being taken into a divine assembly, where everyone present was similarly dressed in capes.

The lady whose vivid dream Neville had just read out (event 7039) brought him the letter describing it in person the preceding Monday. Neville treats her act of delivering it as itself a demonstration of his teaching: in her dream, having lost her friend, car, money, and a topaz she had picked up, she simply resolved to 'go within' and imagine herself with Neville, and instantly found herself in his apartment telling him the dream -- proof, he says, of a power greater than wealth or even the atomic bomb.

Neville confirms that the lady whose dream he had recounted did in fact bring him her written account in person the preceding Monday night, just as she had resolved to do upon waking from the dream. He reads her follow-through -- despite having lost, within the dream itself, her friend, her car, her money, and the valuable stone she had found, before simply willing herself into his presence by imagination alone -- as proof of the very power he says he was sent to teach.

She delivered the letter at Neville's Monday-night lecture; he read it after returning home.

Neville tells of a couple from his New York meetings, Joseph and Louise: she went to Paris on a cheap round-trip ticket after asking his advice, met a wealthy man five times divorced on a blind date, married and had two boys, Larry and one named Neville after him; Larry was killed in a car accident in London two weeks ago last Saturday.
