Neville recalls dining with a man known to the audience whose mother died just before her 102nd birthday, and who is convinced he too will reach 102.

During a Q&A exchange, Neville reports that the woman got her new car 'last Friday' and has since asked her partner for freedom, which he has granted only within his own imagination. Told in the lecture 'In Praise of Wisdom' (nid 53, delivered Friday, 1965-04-23); 'last Friday' relative to a Friday lecture places the happening on the preceding Friday, 1965-04-16.

David tells the audience that Neville has allowed him to record many of the lectures, and that he sat in the apartment house playing them over and over, wearing out several sets of batteries, to keep his mind off fear while waiting for the sale.

Neville's friend Bob, a professional writer, told him a story a week earlier about an experience he had in a dream. After asking himself 'Who am I?' and falling asleep in that assumption, Bob received a wordless communication, understood rather than heard, telling him to use his imagination for another person the way he would write a story: playing every part in it fully, the way he would dramatize a love story. Neville relays Bob's account to the audience as an example of the technique.

He recalls the story his friend Bob shared with him from the platform two weeks earlier — that Bob occupied the body of a friend in imagination and assumed for that friend what the friend could not assume for herself.

A writer friend of Neville's went to bed asking "Who am I?", answered "I am Christ", and in sleep received a communication telling him to use his Imagination for another the way he uses it writing a story - to become the other; he practised it on friend after friend and then a voice said "Tell this to Neville!", which he did a week before this lecture.

A friend who was absent from the previous lecture phoned another friend at 10:30 to hear the technique, applied it to family and business associates before sleeping, and at 3:30 woke from a vivid dream of an Oriental gift shop in which he put on a coon skin cap, assumed he was his son Michael, and Michael instantly appeared between him and the man beside him, dressed as an Indian.

Neville recounts that he told this friend's story at his previous Tuesday lecture, that the friend is a professional writer who was told in vision to use his Imagination for another as he does when writing a story, and that the friend wrote him a second letter completing it.

Neville's friend learned at the studio that his long-time director had suffered a stroke that paralysed one side, impaired his speech and erased ten years of memory; after taking the news as a physical blow he entered the director's body with the technique and revised the whole picture, and the studio later reported the man recovering rapidly with his memory returned.

Neville's friend imagined himself as a young waitress receiving a new car - and her mother bought her one of that make and colour; but when he re-entered her body unkindly to free her of a man she depended on, he was trapped in her form for six hours, his wife asking "Who are you, 'cause you're not my husband!", and after twelve hours' sleep a voice woke him saying "I have restored my soul."

Three weeks before, on a Friday night, a man who had brought his family of seven made an appointment to see Neville the following Tuesday, and after hearing the statement about assuming 'I am Jesus Christ' never kept it, never phoned and never wrote.

Neville says the friend told him other stories too, all in conflict with human wisdom, and that he has the friend's permission to tell them when the mood takes him.

David's buyer for his apartment house had agreed to purchase it on condition that all three units be rented; two were already rented, but the third sat empty as escrow's deadline approached. On the Saturday before this lecture, David telephoned Neville to say a passerby had seen the for-rent sign and rented the third unit on the spot, even though no one had answered the newspaper ad. That satisfied the buyer's condition and let escrow close on the day of this lecture. Neville describes feeling thrilled but not surprised at the news, taking it as confirmation of the imagining he and David had done together.

Six weeks before the Grand Canyon vision, the same friend found herself in a trance-like state in a room like the lecture room, walked over to a coffin and saw herself lying in it, undisturbed, taking it as an awakening.
