A friend of his in Los Angeles, fifty-four and a regular at his meetings for years, felt a wind blowing through him for hours about five months ago, feared a stroke, drove down to Sunset and walked, and on returning home and starting up the steps found the child caught on his head; he cried out 'My God!', would not turn round because he knew the sea of water was behind him, and carried the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes into the room. Four and a half months later the experience returned and David stood before him and called him by his own name — the same thing, Neville says, that has happened to him.

The friend told Neville how he left his body, assumed the personality of a young waitress, looked in the mirror, drove a new convertible with the top down, then stepped out and saw her smile at him from behind the wheel - and the next day she actually had that car, bought with unexpected money from her mother.

The friend, entering Beth's body to free her from an older musician without hurt, instead expelled the man with contempt and was locked inside her personality for six hours, terrified he would be found in an asylum thinking he was a girl, until a voice of love spoke to him.

Neville reports his friend's letter comparing his love for the waitress to Neville's love for his daughter Vicki, and speaks of the particular way he loves his own daughter.

A man wrote Neville a letter describing how he imagined catching a record trout for his club, then went out the next day and landed a twelve-and-a-half pound trout, the biggest the club had ever had.

Neville had taught a friend, Pat, his technique of imagining on the night of December 5th -- picturing the joy of loved ones at his success in acquiring a firm of his own. A month later, on January 5th, Neville received in the mail an advertisement announcing that Pat had become the new owner of an auto supply company, though not the one he had originally set his sights on. When Neville stopped by to congratulate him, Pat explained that another businessman had simply offered to let him take over the company and pay him back out of future profits, with no money needed up front.

Neville received a telephone call the previous day from a lady, a nurse, who only mentioned late in a long conversation that a physical crisis he had worked on had passed - she had not called on the day it happened, and was now asking about a love affair.

A friend of Neville's, a teacher, told him that evening about another teacher at the same school who took the Revision chapter of Neville's book Awakened Imagination and had a class of thirty pupils revise an unlovely story.
