A man in his audience told him in a letter last Tuesday night of a vision of being the womb of the universe; Neville took the letter home and read it before retiring and could not contain his thrill, and the man is present at tonight's lecture.

Neville's friend David, an Associate Professor of ethnomusicology at UCLA who drives him to lectures twice a week, decided about two months before this lecture to sell one of the three units in his apartment house, feeling he no longer had time to manage it. He engaged a real-estate agent, who found a buyer; by the night of this lecture the sale was in escrow and due to close that same day.

A friend in the audience told Neville a story a couple of weeks before this lecture: he had a friend, called 'Pat' (general manager of an auto-supply firm), who wanted to buy out the firm's difficult owner (called 'Mike') but had no money. On December 5 of the previous year, the friend had advised Pat to construct an imaginary scene implying he already owned the firm and to fall asleep in that assumption each night, including in the scene those who loved him.

A friend present in the audience told Neville how, on December 5th, he taught the imagining technique to "Pat", the general manager of an auto supply firm who wanted to own his own company but had no money; one month later, on January 5th, the friend received a mailed announcement that Pat now owned an auto supply company, bought from a man with many properties who let him take possession and pay out of profits.

A woman in the audience told Neville just before the lecture that her daughter — a Catholic convert who resented her mother attending his meetings — had appeared to her in a dream and asked her to tell her about Lazarus.

A man telephoned Neville the day before yesterday asking him to call their mutual friend Walter, a sixty-two-year-old actor from Vienna who has lost a whole section of his memory after being beaten unconscious; Walter remembered Neville and the film An Affair in Trinidad but nothing since, and Neville reflects that Walter's lifelong gloom, which he could never talk him out of at his New York lectures and home, produced this.

He recalls having told, in a lecture on the 6th of February, Carl Jung's experience of a dead friend appearing at the foot of his bed and leading him to a red-bound book, The Legacy of the Dead, in the man's library.

Neville describes a letter he received that day from a man present in the audience, who in vision saw himself in the back row of a disorganized crowd suddenly brought into military order and moved to the front, while Neville from the lectern told a parable of a giant being about to eat another being that had compassion on its eater, with the puzzling word 'vomit' attached to it.

Neville tells of a man in that night's audience whose skin cancers were removed by painful surgery and radium until his doctor said no more radium could be given; the man then practised repentance, holding inner conversations with friends as though the cancers were gone, and one by one they vanished.
