A friend of Neville's, an actor who had made a picture with Rita Hayworth in which he was shot in Trinidad, was struck on the head in Hollywood by a rival, lost about ten years of memory, and is now institutionalised; when Neville telephones him he says only that he was wounded in Trinidad.

A friend of Neville's, present at the lecture, told him over dinner at Neville's home of a vivid dream in which he was an actor in Greek costume shot dead on stage by an opponent whose gun was not loaded with a blank; he rose from the body saying 'Why, that S.O.B., he shot me!' — and that same friend has since experienced the resurrection, the birth from above and the discovery of the son David.

Neville says he has repeatedly told his audience from this platform the experiences of his friends Bob and Benny alongside his own, each of whom had the birth happen in a different manner.

Neville recounts a letter from his friend Clare, who told a plant worker named Randy about Neville's teaching for two years; after Randy died under an operation, Clare heard Randy's voice within him saying 'Clare, you are right.'

A friend present in the audience, told by his doctors he could have no more radiation for the skin cancers on his face, imagined each morning while shaving that they were not there until they vanished without trace; Neville examined his face and found no sign, and says the story was told him years ago at the Ebell.

A friend told Neville how, as a starving Jewish boy in Odessa under the Czars, he imagined the bank teller had made a mistake in his favour; the next day the teller gave him silver instead of copper, he kept the money, bought slacks and a meal, and later — after the Russian collapse, arriving penniless in Paris as a street cleaner — used the same principle to become a multi-millionaire.

A woman he knew, living poor in a Brooklyn rooming house, affirmed daily that she had $50,000 in cash and within a year her frugal neighbour Miss Mead — for whom she bought a Sunday Times each week — died and left her $50,000 plus jewelry, an estate of over $100,000.

The same woman who had seen Neville in the crucified form told him she had seen her mother, dead many years, as a young girl, who spoke to her and introduced her to her present husband.

The same friend told Neville that years ago, back East and before they met in San Francisco, he had daydreams of talking to a crowd on radio or television; now a stranger who heard him in his restaurant in Ojai has out of the blue arranged a series of lectures for him, and he remembered the daydreams as his own harvest.

His Catholic nephew, visiting New York, got drunk with Neville's son one Saturday night; Neville sobered him with black coffee the next morning and walked him from 55th Street to St. Patrick's, where to the boy's dismay it was a long high mass conducted by Cardinal Spellman, which he could then boast of to his mother.

In New York many years ago his friend Alice Bentley (Ali-Ben) told him that he had appeared bodily in the night to the Wellington Hotel's restaurant manager and ordered her to empty her purse into Ali's lap — which she did, and Ali, who owed rent, needed the money; Neville was wholly unaware of it.

He tells his wife's vision of a clearing in a grove where two women each carried a book — one titled according to Judaism, the other according to Christianity — and read from them before a man at a table, leaving her struck by how much harder it is to be a Christian than a Jew.

A wealthy New York lady returned from Paris to find her maid had stolen all her furniture; police and a private agency found nothing. Neville had her sit in his apartment and mentally refurnish her own apartment; that week, an accidental wrong turn on Madison Avenue brought her face to face with the maid, who led her to the stored furniture, and she had it back within the week.
