Neville reads a letter from a woman who, ten years after first hearing him, had a vision from the top of the highest mountain in the universe in which bursts of light appeared which she knew to be Paul and then Neville, followed by a shower of golden needles penetrating her brain.

Neville reads a letter received this week from a woman who, shortly after hearing him ten years earlier, had a vision on the highest mountain in the universe of lights bursting through clouds which she named as Paul and as Neville, followed by golden needles penetrating her brain; she only understood it after his lecture the previous Monday night.

Neville's friend Bennie told him that a couple of days before his own catalepsy experience, he had a vision in the spirit of watching Neville teach: someone asked Neville to tell the story of Jesus, and Neville replied that the story of Jesus is 'a persistent assumption that you are what you want to be, that things are as you desire them to be.'

Bennie told Neville that a couple of days before the vision he had seen Neville in the spirit teaching the word of God, being asked to tell the story of Jesus and answering that it is a persistent assumption.

Bennie reported that on Friday morning he became cataleptic, heard a child's cry and an unearthly wind, saw a star burst from his skull, and received a swaddled child and its photograph; Neville dated the experience to October 20, 1967.

Neville reports that his friend Benny experienced 'the birth of the child' on the 20th of October, a separate milestone from the vision of David Benny reports (in the same conversation) having had on 6 March, the day Neville had foretold.

Neville reports that his friend Bennie, lying cataleptic, heard the cry of a child, felt a wind in his skull, saw a star explode from it and a child in swaddling clothes fall into his arms, and was left with a photograph of the child; Neville judges this to be the birth from above and predicts David will come to him five months later.

A lady handed Neville a letter last Friday night saying that on the previous Monday she had seen him on the platform not as Neville but as an ancient Chinese philosopher, and recalled a psychic experience years before in which an ancient Chinese in a white garment led her to a cave and broke a cocoon on a granite peak.

Neville recalls telling Benny on the 20th of October that the David experience would come on the 6th of March; Benny doubted it would come on that exact day, and later telephoned to say it happened on Wednesday — the 6th of March.

Neville reads a correspondent's account of a series of dreams that all occurred within a single week. In the first she finds a hidden watch that children call a treasure; in the second she rides a wheel among all her heart's desires yet still feels an unsatisfied longing; in the third and fourth she follows a crowd to hear Neville lecture in beautiful, unfamiliar buildings, in the last of which her late father is present in an adjoining room and Neville tells her, mysteriously, 'My name is Friday.'

Neville says the same chronological order of mystical events happened to him and to his friend Bob, and so predicts the birth of David five months after Benny's experience. Neville marks Benny's vision as having happened on 20 October 1967 and predicts its fulfillment (David's coming) five months later, circa 20 March 1968 -- a forecast, not yet an established happening.

Neville reads and interprets a letter received that week from a woman who dreamed a series of dreams on successive nights — finding a watch the children called a treasure, everything she wanted on wheels, following him from lecture to lecture on an ivy-covered campus, and finally a great white house built by her father where he told her "My name is Friday"; her mother is in the audience that night.

Neville recounts that Benny came home a few nights before this lecture and, for a second time, retold him and Bill the story of a vision of a child. Benny described lifting an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes, marveling at its rosy cheeks against his own dark complexion, and murmuring endearments like 'my darling' before the vision vanished, leaving both listeners deeply moved.

A friend wrote Neville that facing a problem at the office, he held two words in his mind's eye, written in the handwriting of the person who would need to write them, implying the problem was solved. In a dream he saw the words slip back into their negative, unsolved form, made a mental effort to correct them, and then watched a white-robed arm write the same two words in that identical handwriting before he sank into a deeper state of sleep; on waking he recalled the whole sequence.

A homeowner at the beach wrote Neville that after having eighteen trees and dozens of shrubs planted, three of the trees died a couple of months later. Rather than simply asking the landscaper to replace them, he treated it as a test of applying his imagination, mentally leaning against the dead trees in his garage and feeling them alive. The landscape artist, driving by unprompted, noticed the dead trees himself, diagnosed that his crew's over-fertilizing had burned the roots, and voluntarily offered to replace them at no charge, returning the following Tuesday to do so.

A friend asked Neville the other night where the verse about the tree in the human brain comes from.

A woman friend described to him a vision in which she lay prone on a hospital cot, asked him whether the operation was necessary, and he — appearing as her surgeon — assured her it would not hurt and implanted the word with an implement like a silver comb whose teeth were like needles.

A lady sitting on his right in the audience that night was engrafted only a few weeks earlier.
