The Secret of Causation

“The secret of imagining is the greatest of all problems, to the solution of which every man should aspire; for supreme power, supreme wisdom, and supreme delight, lie in the solution of this great mystery.” Imagination is the Jesus Christ of scripture, and when you solve the great mystery of imagining, you will have found the cause of the phenomena of life. Imagination is called “Jehovah” in the Old Testament and “Jesus” in the New, but they are one and the same being. Divine Imagination, containing all, reproduces itself in the human imagination; therefore, all things exist in the human imagination. When you solve the problem of imagining, you will have found Jesus Christ, the secret of causation.627 ¶1

Let me share with you two experiences which came to me this past week. The first lady said: “Returning from a wonderful cruise recently, I checked my baggage at La Guardia Airport, bound for Chicago, where I expected to spend a few days with friends. Arriving in Chicago, I discovered that the bag which contained most of my clothes and all of the presents I had bought for my friends and relatives - as well as a locket I had had made from the engagement and wedding band my late husband had given me - was missing. I immediately reported the loss to the airline, but when I arrived in California there was still no trace of it.627 ¶2

“A week later I received a letter saying that the bag could not be located, and my first reaction was to curse the airline for their negligence; but then I remembered that imagining creates reality. I tried to reconstruct the letter, but when I couldn’t feel its words were true, I began to assume that the bag had arrived at the house. I lifted it up on the bed, opened it, put my clothes away, as well as the gifts which were there. I did this every night and during the day, when I would notice my thoughts going astray.627 ¶3

“When the grandchildren would ask about their presents, I told them that they were on their way, as I never admitted to anyone that the bag was lost. How could I, if I believe what I had imagined? Six weeks later I received a letter from the airline saying: ‘If you do not pick up your bag within five days, you will be charged storage.’ I picked up the bag to find everything there, and put them all away, just as I had imagined doing.”627 ¶4

Then the lady added this thought: “Love’s labor is never lost. Everything in that bag was loved, and I knew that if this principle was true, it would prove itself in the testing - and it did.”627 ¶5

I can’t thank her enough for sharing this experience with me, that I, in turn, may share it with you. Everything is created by the human imagination. There is no other God. You can use your imagination wisely and create a heaven here on earth, or use it foolishly and create the world’s havoc; but there is only one power, called the Lord God Jehovah in the Old Testament, and Jesus Christ in the New.627 ¶6

This lady’s first impulse was to curse the person who stupidly lost the bag. Then, remembering what she had heard, she tried to revise the letter. When that didn’t seem natural, she asked herself what she would do if the bag was now in her possession. Assuming it was there, she did everything she would do if it was a physical fact - and six weeks later it was. That is what I mean by imagining creating reality, for an assumption is faith; and without faith it is impossible to please your own wonderful human imagination.627 ¶7

Divine Imagination, containing all, reproduces itself in human imagination; therefore, the human imagination contains all. The world is the human imagination pushed out. Not knowing this, man cheats himself, murders himself, declares war against himself, and does all sorts of evil against himself; but do not let yourself be intimidated by the horror of the world. Leave it alone, for it is only the misuse of the power exercised by sleeping mankind.627 ¶8

Now, another lady shared this experience with me: She found herself in a neighbor’s kitchen, filled with men and women dressed as Mennonites. (You all know what the Mennonite look like. Originating in Zurich, Switzerland in the year 1525, they moved into Germany, France, Belgium, and Holland, to finally arrive in this country in the 17th century. Now numbering around 150,000 to 200,000, they continue to dress and live in the same fashion they did when they arrived here 300 years ago. Here is a fixed belief which has perpetuated itself year after year.)627 ¶9

The neighbor’s second husband had mistreated her, so the Mennonites killed him. Although she tried to tell them that it was wrong to take the life of another, as far as they were concerned it was the right thing to do. He had joined their society and knew their laws, which stated that if a man mistreated a woman, he was to be killed. No matter what argument she used, she could not persuade them that what they had done was wrong.627 ¶10

In the 16th chapter of the Book of Proverbs you will read: “All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but God weighs the heart. God has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.” Believing in an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, they felt no remorse or guilt for their actions, for in their eyes it was perfect.627 ¶11

Suddenly a limousine appeared and men dressed in black and carrying machine guns entered the house. As she watched, the leader, pointing his gun at the lady, ordered the others to search the house.627 ¶12

Then the lady awoke, not to find herself on her bed, but standing in the room of her dream. Suddenly realizing that she was awake in her dream and the action was taking place within her, she stopped the activity, which allowed her to see anyone as alive and independent of her perception, and they all froze. (As Blake said, “All that you behold, though it appears without, it is within, in your human imagination of which this world of mortality is but a shadow.”)627 ¶13

Turning to the leader she said: “You don’t want to kill her, you love her and she loves you.” Then turning to the woman she said, “You love him and he loves you.” Allowing them to obey her will, she stood back and watched, as the man put his gun down and - with outstretched arms - moved to embrace the woman. Turning to go into the kitchen and release the animation there, her alarm caused her to awaken to this level of her dream.627 ¶14

This world is just as much a dream as that one, but man is sound asleep and does not know that he is dreaming. No one will sentence a man for dreaming he killed another; rather they will try to analyze it for him, and most of our so-called experts on dreams are past masters of misinterpretation. They do not realize the great mystery surrounding us. I tell you: the whole vast world is the individual dreamer pushed out, and the conflict is within himself, and not on the outside.627 ¶15

This lady’s drama began as something taking place on the outside, and seemingly independent of her perception of it. Then she awoke to an activity within her, which was animating and making alive all that she perceived. Arresting it, everyone became frozen, like statues. She changed their intentions, then watched as they were reanimated once more - but now bewildered, because of the radical change in them which took place in her. Scripture calls this repentance, or metanoia, which means “a radical change of mind.”627 ¶16

When ideas change, so do your intentions and attitude towards life. The story is told, that at his trial, the Risen Christ said to the symbol of the authority of this world: “You have no power over me, were it not given you from above.” This world is a drama which has been set in motion based upon your attitude from above. Functioning from above, this lady is tasting of the power of the age to come.627 ¶17

In the 10th chapter of Luke, the story is told of seventy disciples, who - having been sent out into the world - returned thrilled beyond measure, and said: “Lord, even the demons were subject to us in your name.” Then he said: “I saw Satan fall from heaven. Nevertheless, rejoice not that the spirits are subject to you, but that your names are written in heaven.”627 ¶18

I say to her, rejoice not that you have tasted of this power, but rejoice because your name is written in heaven. This is infinitely greater than demonstrating your power in this world.627 ¶19

Now, Luke does not speak of seventy individuals which were sent out, but the numerical value of the Hebrew letter ayin, whose symbolic value is the eye. This is not the outside eye, but the incurrent eye, which sees inward into the world of thought. You have the incurrent eye, nevertheless rejoice - not because the spirit was subject unto you, but because your name is written in heaven. One day when you are called into that assemblage, you will see that there is such a record, and your name is written in heaven.627 ¶20

This may seem stupid to the intelligent mind. That is because they are sound asleep.627 ¶21

This Manson boy, now on trial for the murders recently committed by his group, fell into a power of which he is totally unaware. Many who became his slaves were simple people, some cultured. One had attended college for three years. His power, exercised without love, resulted in a horrible experience; but she exercised her power in love, saying: “You don’t want to kill her. You love her and she loves you.” She released the man from his violent state by the power of love.627 ¶22

This world is every bit as much a dream as that world, and you, its dreamer, are God learning to exercise your powerful imagination, in love.627 ¶23

You can take this message on either level. Use it as my friend did, when she would not accept the fact that her luggage was missing, or test your power from above. Scripture claims that: Whatever you desire, if you will believe you already have it, you will. Refusing to believe her luggage was missing, my friend fulfilled her desire by placing it on the bed, removing its contents, and putting them away. This she did every night for five weeks, and then one day she received a notice saying that if she did not pick up her luggage within five days she would be charged storage!627 ¶24

I can’t thank her enough for sharing this experience with me, that I may share it with you to encourage you to control your human imagination; for if you would steer a true course toward a certain goal in life, you must ever be aware of the end that you are shaping by your imaginal activity, and not allow doubt to enter for one moment.627 ¶25

When you know what you want, you must think from your belief in its possession, morning, noon, and night. If you do, no power can stop its appearance, because you are the dreamer of your dream, pushing yourself out, shaping your world by your imaginal activities.627 ¶26

Your own wonderful human imagination is the Jehovah and Jesus of scripture. The words mean: “Jehovah is salvation, or Jehovah saves.” In the 3rd chapter of Exodus, Jehovah revealed his name as I am. You are not John or Mary, but simply I am.627 ¶27

In the 4th chapter of the Book of Genesis we are told that when Abel (the 2nd son) was killed, Eve bore Seth, a son to take Abel’s place. Seth then had a son called Enosh, “And from that day on, men began to call upon the name of God.” (Remember, in the lady’s dream the second husband was killed.)627 ¶28

Now, the words “call upon” literally mean “call with.” It is nonsense to say: “In the name of Jesus; in the name of God; or in the name of Jehovah.” If you say: “In the name of Jesus Christ,” you do not feel anything. But when you call with the name, you say: I am unpacking the suitcase. I am hanging the clothes in the closet. I am putting the presents away. I am arresting the activity within and silencing those who stand before me. I am saying: “You love her and she loves you.” That’s calling with the name of God. And from that moment on, men began to call with the name of God.627 ¶29

If you really believe me, you will prove my words in the testing. The two ladies have proved it and shared their experiences with me. I can’t tell you my thrill when I know that you have heard me to the point of applying my words.627 ¶30

One who is the incurrent eyewitness took it into the depth and saw into eternity. The other knows the truth, and believes it on this level of her being. From this level she brought her luggage back with all of its contents in place, while the other went into a deeper level of her being to discover that there was nothing on the outside but herself.627 ¶31

Mennonites are only expressions of fixations. They haven’t changed their outer dress in 300 years. Satisfying their conscience, they will loan you a dollar and not accept any interest on the loan; but they can feel justified in buying land and holding it until the price goes up. You see, man has a peculiar, innate something that justifies everything he does, thereby making him pure in his own eyes.627 ¶32

But I say to you: your imagination manifests itself in the imaginations of men. The world is playing its part, because you are imagining every moment in time. Who knows who is treading in the winepress tonight, causing the subtle change in the minds of men. Perhaps he feels wrongfully accused, and is now sitting in jail thinking of getting even with society. That’s treading in the winepress.627 ¶33

When he can lift his thoughts to the point of vision, the act is committed, and it will manifest itself in the world of man. Vision is simply awakening in the dream. Asleep, you seem to be the victim of your dreams; but awake, as you are here, you can become discriminating. She awoke in her dream, making it vision. Realizing that it started as a dream - therefore, it must still be a dream - she knew the people were only herself made visible, so she could change them.627 ¶34

Placing the thought of love in the mind of the man, he became aware of his radical change of thinking, yet was totally unaware of who produced it. Who knows who is producing the changes in the minds of men today, producing war or peace.627 ¶35

It could be some woman treading in the winepress; or - as Yeats said - it could be in the mind of some shepherd boy, lighting up his eyes for a moment before he ran upon his way. Dreaming of heroism, of noble battles where he was the hero, that little boy can cause the blood to flow.627 ¶36

If you know who you are and how imagination operates, you will learn to control your imaginal activities. If you do not, they will be controlled for you by another, and you will become their victim.627 ¶37

Any time you exercise your imagination lovingly on behalf of another you have done the right thing. But if it is not done in love there is a question mark, for God is love.627 ¶38

This knowledge is not the result of some philosophic reasoning, but of self-revelation. God unveiled himself within me and now I know that God is Infinite love. Yes, he is Infinite Power and Wisdom as well, but power without love can raise horror.627 ¶39

I say to everyone, believe me. The Jesus of scripture and the Jehovah of scripture are your own wonderful human imagination. There is no other God, and God is love. One day you will know this truth, but in the meanwhile believe me as the lady did.627 ¶40

When her natural human impulse was to curse, she blessed by imagining her luggage on her bed. Then she performed in her imagination what she would do in the flesh if her desire was now outpictured on her screen of space.627 ¶41

This world is a play, peopled by those in costumes. You are its author, writing your play. You can change it (as my friend did) and prove to yourself that you can take a fixed idea (symbolized as a Mennonite) and change it.627 ¶42

Believe me, imagining does create reality. Take me seriously. You will never know Jesus until you know the secret of imagining, for your imagination is he. If you really believe in God, believe in your own imagination, for it is the power of God and the wisdom of God.627 ¶43

The power and wisdom of the lady’s imaginal act influenced the entire outer world and produced that so-called “lost” bag and returned it.627 ¶44

I tell you, there is only one power in the universe. We call it by the name of God or Jesus. But if you think of Jesus as someone on the outside, who lived 2,000 years ago, you will never know him. Nor will you ever know God, if you think of him as some impersonal force. God is a person because you are a person. He became you, as he became us all, that we may become as He is.627 ¶45

Take my message to heart and apply it from now on. You can be the man you would like to be. Don’t start dreaming about it. Awake and think from it. Do not concern yourself about trying to meet the so-called “right” people. They are simply reflections of the activity you have placed within you.627 ¶46

Change your thoughts and you will change the behavior of those who surround you, for they are nothing more than yourself made visible.627 ¶47

The day will come when you will awake from this dream, and you will see what my friend saw in another aspect of the dream - that the world is dead, and only the reflection of an activity of the human imagination. Then you will depart, leaving the world as it is for others to play upon, while you return to the being you really are - the Lord God Himself, the creator of the dream.627 ¶48

Now let us go into the silence.627 ¶49

The Heart of the Dreamer

The Christian world calls this the season of Advent; the coming of the great event or person; the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Of course Paul, in his letter to the Galatians doesn’t condemn it, but wonders if they really got the message, saying: “I notice you observe days and months and seasons and years! I am afraid I have labored over you in vain.” There is nothing wrong with observing this season of the year, as long as you understand it as the coming of the great event or person. Tonight I will tell you what I know from experience, from which my conviction was born. I must, however, use certain imagery in order to explain it. So I ask that you follow me in your imagination.626 ¶1

Your wonderful human imagination is a reproduction of the Divine Imagination. Think of the human imagination as brain cells in the mind of the dreamer, which Divine Imagination sent out to infinity for a divine purpose. These brain cells are destined to return, like a boomerang, right back into the center of Divine Imagination as the dreamer who is God the Father. The going out as sons is not easy. It was never intended to be. It takes the horrors of the world to awaken and expand his sons into God the Father.626 ¶2

I promise you: the day will come when the divine breath will breathe over you and you will awaken in your immortal tomb. You, too, will leave that tomb to hold the infant child in your arms. He will be the symbol of your return, revealing the end of your horrors. Although you are then God the Father, you will not discover this for yourself until one hundred and thirty-nine days later, when God’s son, David, will reveal your true identity.626 ¶3

Before I retired last night I was wondering what I would talk to you about, and this morning about 1:30, I found myself preparing dinner for three friends. (I took care of the funeral of two of them many years ago in New York City. The third may be gone, as I haven’t heard from her for a very long time.) I was serving Barbados yams, which are unlike the ones we have here. It is a root weighing anywhere from two to thirty pounds. Its covering is dark brown, while the interior is snowy white. As I approached the table, two jackals or silver foxes, approached, jumped on the table, and in the most vicious manner the father jackal tore a large hunk out of the back of his son and began to nail his son upon a board with its centre gouged out to fit that hunk. The extended portion of the cross was wood, while the son’s body formed the upright part of the cross. Then I awoke.626 ¶4

This morning, I went to The Lost Language of Symbolism, by Bayley, where I read that the jackal is the pathfinder in the desert. He is equated with the Egyptian god, Osiris, who, as the “opener of ways to the gods, he brings three to the mountains.”626 ¶5

In the audience tonight are two ladies whose experiences I would like to share. One lady found herself in a crowd, looking at a woman surrounded by three men, who suddenly disappeared. The lady approached and asked their names, to which my friend replied: “Faith, hope and charity.” (The word “charity” is translated “love” in the Revised Standard Version of the Bible, and love is right.) What a wonderful vision for her. She saw the three that he brought to the mountaintop, and knew their names.626 ¶6

The Father took us, the brain cells of his own being, and nailed us upon the cross that we may go out to infinity in a horrible nightmare. Then, like a boomerang, we will curl around and return to the center of the dreamer of the dream as God the Father. This is the great mystery of Christmas, the day when God the Father is born as Jesus, which means “savior”. In the 43rd and 45th chapters of the Book of Isaiah, we read: “I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your savior and besides me there is no God.” Here we discover that Jesus, our savior, is the Lord God Himself.626 ¶7

Everyone will return to the very heart of the dreamer as the dreamer himself. You were nailed down and sent out to infinity to experience all of its horrors; and when you have experienced them all, you will return as the being who conceived the world and played all the parts. This is the mystery of Christmas. Everyone, eventually, will know that he is the one called Jesus. The word “Christ” is the Greek word for “messiah”, and simply means, “the anointed of God; to rule all of the people of God.” Jesus is the Lord God Himself and Christ is his anointed, who will save the people from their sins and deliver them from their conquerors. Who is this anointed one? David. He who delivered Israel from the Philistines and brought down the giant Goliath. When you return to your source, you will know that you are God the Father and that his son, David, is your son, for David will stand before you and call you, “Father.” Then and only then will you know who you really are.626 ¶8

What I saw in vision was beautiful imagery of he who finds the path in the wilderness. Nailed upon your cross, you play the part of man until you return – not as a son of God, but as God Himself. Leaving paradise as a little one, you overcome death and return – expanded to encompass all – as the dreamer himself. This is the mystery of Christmas, which is taking place every moment of time.626 ¶9

Another lady shared this experience, saying: “You were with me all through the night, explaining the mystery of imagining. At one point you said: ‘Come, brothers, show how it works,’ and instantly a man appeared at my left, and another man – holding an open ledger – appeared at my right. Approaching the man on my left, he said: ‘Our funds are exhausted.’ Looking at him intensely, the brother said not a word, but simply turned and disappeared. Then you said to me, ‘You see? It is just as easy as that. You simply do what is to be done and go your way.’ The one with the ledger, now with an expression of joy on his face, looks at the ledger and sees that – through some miracle – the money is recorded there.” I showed her how imagination works. Believing in the reality of an unseen state, my brother imagined the ledger showed a healthy balance, just as the man desired it to be.626 ¶10

Now, in Paul’s letter to the Galatians, he says: “Paul, an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ – not by men nor through man, but through the Lord Jesus Christ and God the Father who raised him from the dead.” Although the letter is signed “Paul” it is a corporate letter “from the brethren who are with me.” The brethren are those who have awakened from the dream of life. I introduced her to the brethren, who showed her how easy the law of imagining works. Looking intently, he saw the ledger reflect back a balance in the black, then went his way, unconcerned as to how it would come about, as the look of amazement on the other man’s face indicated the change.626 ¶11

This is what I am trying to convey to everyone who will listen. You can prove the law, but the story of Christ cannot be proved on this level. Its truth can only be known from experience. If you will but imagine you are the man (or woman) you want to be and walk convinced that you already are, in the twinkle of an eye the ledger will change. Things will happen in your outer world and your desire will be fulfilled. You need not be concerned as to how it will come about, simply let your Imagination create it. It will appear in such a normal, natural way that you will be inclined to credit the means employed, rather than the imaginal act which did it. The world will say it would have happened anyway; but let me tell you: it would not, for imagining creates reality. It could not have happened without your imaginal act to support it, but when it comes to pass, it always appears by a natural means. It is miraculous only to the individual who sees the radical change and remembers his imaginal act which created the means that produced the end result.626 ¶12

In a few days, we will be celebrating the birth of Imagination in the individual. Don’t think some little individual was born 2,000 years ago. Everyone agreed to go out and experience the horrors of his own making, knowing that he would return to the mind of the dreamer as the Dreamer Himself. This return is told in the gospel. The story begins with the resurrection, for without it there could be no birth, no expansion, necessary to encompass God the Father. The divine breath will breathe upon you and you will awaken in your immortal tomb with a built-in, innate wisdom as to how to get out. We are all in that same immortal tomb, as told us in the 87th Psalm. Pointing out different places in the same immortal tomb, he said: “This one was born here, that one there and that one here.” Coming out of that tomb, everyone is destined to hold the infant Christ in his arms and say: “Let me depart in peace according to thy word.”626 ¶13

Having heard salvation’s story, believe it and simply continue your journey until you fulfill it. May I tell you: no one will falter. No one can fail – even the most horrible being imaginable, for he is a son of God, playing the part he has to play. Everyone will play every part in order to say: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” I have played all the parts. My memory is now returning, and I am remembering the horrors of my deeds; so I can now forgive everyone for whatever he is doing – or will do – because these things he agreed to do, as he moves towards the end of the drama. Then, having moved out to infinity, he will curl like a boomerang, to return to the mind of the dreamer as the one who cast him out.626 ¶14

My dream was not a pleasant sight to see. Here was this huge father, tearing a large portion out of the back of his son; and then – as though he had human hands – he placed him on his back and nailed him to the wood, leaving the upright as the body itself. That was the jackal, the Egyptian Osiris, the pathfinder in the desert who knows the path and brings the three to the mountaintop. The three that you bring with you to the mountaintop are not Peter, Paul, and James – but faith, hope, and love, the three the lady saw so clearly in her vision.626 ¶15

The lady who learned how to use the law saw it perfectly, too. The law operates by faith. If you believe, no effort is necessary to see the fulfillment of your every desire. If you go to the bank and have money deposited there equal to your check, you will give them your check in the belief that – because of your faith – they will give you the money you desire. Treat your desire in the same manner. Knowing your desire exists in your imagination, simply expect its fulfillment in your outer world. Try it. I have lived by this law all of my life and know, that by applying this principle, all of your desires will be fulfilled.626 ¶16

Now, tradition tells us that the Christmas season begins on Andrew’s Day, which is the first Sunday nearest the 30th of November. In the gospel story, Andrew is the first disciple in the list of twelve, so his day is the beginning of the four Sundays known as Advent: the coming of the great event or person; the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. But when Jesus comes you will not see a being on the outside, for he is in you, and his coming is his awakening in you – as you. You already are the Lord Jesus Christ, but you will not know it until you return to the very centre of the one who sent you out into this world of hell.626 ¶17

If you don’t believe this is hell, read the morning papers. They are filled with the happenings of people who do not know what they are doing. But it is necessary to experience all the blows of life in order to awaken and expand that little brain cell in the mind of the dreamer, who is God the Father. Contracting, you go out to the very limit of infinity, to return – expanded – into the very centre of the mind of the dreamer, as the dreamer himself.626 ¶18

A way for your return was prepared for you before that the world was. This was done by setting up a son called David, the anointed one, as told us in the Book of Samuel. After the Lord had rejected everyone, David – he who was watching the sheep – was brought in, and the prophet Samuel was told to “Rise and anoint him. This is he.” Then the spirit of God came mightily upon David from that day forward. And in the Psalms, the Lord declared: “Thou art my son, today I have begotten thee. I have found David; with my holy oil I have anointed him. He has cried unto me, ‘Thou art my Father, my God and the Rock of my salvation.’” This is implied in the New Testament, when Paul said: “It pleased God to reveal his son in me.” He did not say who that son was, however, and the priesthoods of the world have changed scripture to make it conform to their misconceptions of the story.626 ¶19

Jesus is Awakened Imagination, who is God the Father; and if he is a father, he must have a son. His son is David, the sum total of his journey through humanity. You will know your journey through humanity is over when David stands before you and calls you Father. He is the symbol of the Christ, the anointed one, a man after your own heart, who did all your will. In this world you have done – are doing, and will continue to do – the will of the Father; and believe it or not, you are doing it in love. And when you have finished the work you set out to do, you will return as the Father, to discover that it was all a dream.626 ¶20

This universe, which seems so real, is a dream. We are eternal dreamers, dreaming non-eternal dreams. Falling asleep, you have the illusion of a fabulous journey in space, interlocked with time; but when time is finished, you will awake to discover that you never left your eternal home. That you were never born and have never died, save in your dream.626 ¶21

When time is finished, the breath of the divine being will breathe upon you. You will awaken within that immortal tomb, to come out and see the symbolism which was prepared before that the world was. Taking the infant child wrapped in swaddling clothes in your arms, you will see a heavenly smile appear upon his face, telling you that your journey into the world of death is over. But, because your brothers are still asleep, you will remain here for just a little while to encourage them; for they are all coming back, whether they have just started their journey, or are now returning. Those of you who are here now are returning. I know, for no man comes to me save my Father calls him, and I and my Father are one. Having returned to my Father as the Father, I am only drawing those who are returning, to encourage you to continue for the little while that is left.626 ¶22

The story of Christ is not the anniversary of a little boy who was physically born 2,000 years ago, but about the individual’s spiritual birth from within. This will happen in you when the fullness of time comes. Then he will send the spirit of his son into your heart crying, “Father.” If the spirit of God’s son calls you Father, are you not the one who is dreaming the entire dream? The time has come for this experience to be yours, or you would not be here. But when that moment comes I do not know; only your heavenly Father knows.626 ¶23

There is a peculiar, innate fear in man that he will never find the Father. That is because he does not know what he is looking for. Man thinks it is wealth or security, fame, or marriage and a family, when he is really looking for the Father. But how long, vast, and severe, the anguish ere he finds and knows the Father, is long to tell. He will find him, however, but only through his son. I could tell you from now until the ends of time that you are God the Father, but for you it would only be hearsay until it is experienced. But one day you will know the truth of my words; for God’s son, David, will call you “Father,” and – strangely enough – you will know this relationship more surely than you know anything here on earth.626 ¶24

Now, here is a statement from the 4th chapter of Ecclesiastes: “I saw all the living that move about under the sun, also the second youth which shall stand in his place. There was no end to all the people. He was over all of them, yet those who will come later will not rejoice in him. Surely this also is vanity and a striving after wind.” Tonight there are hundreds of millions of people who would not be interested in hearing what you have heard this night. They are those who will come after. At the present time, they would rather have a huge diamond that’s worth a million dollars, or stocks and bonds that pay good dividends. Their hunger is for some little trinket – which will turn to ash – rather than the revelation of the second youth, who will reveal their Fatherhood. Surely this is vanity and a striving after wind.626 ¶25

In his 15th chapter of 1 Corinthians, Paul speaks of this youth as the second man, saying: “The first man is of the earth, a man of dust. The second man is from heaven and as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall bear the image of the man of heaven.” I wish he had called him the second youth, in keeping with Ecclesiastes, but it doesn’t really matter. It is the second being, called the “New Man”, in whom we all aspire.626 ¶26

I know that the sensation of resurrection is one of waking. I actually awoke and wondered how long I had been there and who put me there. Blake explained it so beautifully in his poem, “The Mental Traveler.” “I traveled thro’ a Land of Men A Land of Men and Women too And heard and saw such dreadful things As cold Earth wanderers never knew For there the Babe is born in joy That was begotten in dire woe Just as we reap in joy the fruit Which we in bitter tears did sow And if the Babe is born a Boy He’s given to a Woman Old Who nails him down upon a rock Catches his shrieks in cups of gold.”626 ¶27

I saw this in the symbolism of the god of Egypt with the jackal face, yet with hands, which nailed him down. I gasped as I watched the horror, yet he had no compassion, as he tore the back of his son and removed an area equal to the gouged out area of the board. This occurred just as I began to serve those who are dead.626 ¶28

In the 4th chapter of the Book of Daniel, the decree was made to: “Let his mind be changed from the man’s and let a beast’s mind be given him.” Are we not animals here in this world? Today’s paper certainly could convince anyone that we are. This is part of the unfolding horror, because the heart and mind of God was taken when the tree of life was felled. Then the heart and mind of the animal was substituted until one finds the Father; and when you find him, you will discover that you never left your immortal home. In the true sense of the word you were never born and have never died, save in your Imagination. Now let us go into the silence.626 ¶29

Enter the Dream

God only acts and is in existing beings or men. Embracing the fires of experience, God was consumed by the flames, rose from their ashes, and continues to rise as Jesus Christ, or Divine Imagination. Good and evil are not conditions imposed by some benevolent deity, but states the soul must experience in order to surpass them and awaken as God Himself.623 ¶1

Tonight I will share with you an experience of a friend, a lady who wrote, saying: “In my dream I possessed the power to be anything I wanted to be. The moment I observed the being or thing I became it, felt its emotion, and shared its thoughts and environment. This I did throughout the night and awoke reluctantly because I was so enjoying the experience.”623 ¶2

Now let me tell you what Aldous Huxley wrote about his friend, D. H. Lawrence: To be with Lawrence was a kind of adventure, a voyage of discovery into newness and otherness. For, being himself of a different order, he inhabited a different universe from that of common men—a brighter and intenser world, of which, while he spoke, he would make you free. He looked at things with the eyes, so it seemed, of a man who had been at the brink of death and to whom, as he emerges from the darkness, the world reveals itself as unfathomably beautiful and mysterious. For Lawrence, existence was one continuous convalescence; it was as though he were newly reborn from a mortal illness every day of his life. What these convalescent eyes saw, his most casual speech would reveal. A walk with him in the country was a walk through that marvelously rich and significant landscape which is at once the background and the principal personage of all his novels. He seemed to know, by personal experience, what it was like to be a tree or a daisy or a breaking wave or even the mysterious moon itself. He could get inside the skin of an animal and tell you in the most convincing detail how it felt and how, dimly, inhumanly, it thought.623 ¶3

I am quite sure my friend never read that letter, but I gave her my immortal eyes. The eye of imagination is now open in her and she has shared her experience of going from state to state, from things to persons, knowing their feelings and emotions. How is that possible? Because God is the only actor.623 ¶4

Blake makes this statement: “Eternity exists, and all things in eternity, independent of creation, which was an act of mercy … By this it will be seen that I do not consider either the just, or the wicked, to be in a supreme state, but to be, every one of them, states of the sleep into which the soul may fall in its deadly dreams of good and evil when it leaves Paradise following the Serpent.”623 ¶5

Everything in the world is yourself pushed out. Every animal there can be entered by you, and you can experience its emotion, for that animal is your very self. You are the animating power of the universe. All things were made by you and without you was not anything made that was made, for you are life itself. This I know from experience. The universe is alive in you. It has no life on the outside. It is yours to animate, to stop, to let go, and stop again. Blake was right when he said: “God only Acts & Is, in existing beings or Men,” for God is the only actor, acting imaginatively in the human imagination.623 ¶6

While seated here you can see your home in your mind’s eye, but it does not have the cubic reality as does this room. But one day you will think of something and see it more vividly than you now see the speaker. You will enter it, not as a shadow, but as a three-dimensional space. I have sat in a chair or rested on a bed with my eyes closed as in sleep and seen what I could not see if the lids were open. Knowing exactly where I was and what I was doing, I allowed consciousness to follow vision and stepped into that image which closed itself around me as I set out to explore that world.623 ¶7

I now know the truth of Blake’s words: “If the Spectator could Enter into these Images in his Imagination, approaching them on the Fiery Chariot of his Contemplative Thought; if he could Enter into Noah’s Rainbow or into his bosom or could make a Friend & Companion of one of these Images of wonder, which always entreats him to leave mortal things as he must know, then would he arise from his Grave, then would he meet the Lord in the Air, & then he would be happy.”623 ¶8

Many times while sitting in my chair or lying on my bed, my inner eye has opened and I have seen what no mortal eye could see. Then I would enter into the image by allowing my consciousness to move on its fiery chariot of contemplative thought. Clothed as I am, the world calls me Neville; but I—a conscious being—have moved out of this body and into a world which instantly clothed itself around me; and I explored that world, clothed in a body just as solidly real as the one I left on the bed or chair. If anyone had entered the room they would have thought Neville was sleeping; yet I was fully awake, consciously aware of being separated from my external self.623 ¶9

Look at yourself in the mirror and you are seeing the mask God is wearing in this world of death, but you cannot see the immortal you who cannot die. Your friend or relative may appear to die, but he is not that which is put into the furnace and consumed or buried in a grave. He is that which his I AM is conscious of being, exploring other worlds just as real as this until he experiences the mystery of scripture.623 ¶10

You see, “God only Acts.” Sitting in my chair and seeing what I should not see, I acted by consciously entering into the image I was viewing, to discover it was not a flat surface, but a three-dimensional reality, complete and ready for occupancy. My friend knows what it is like to become anything that intrigues her, and I am quite sure she never read the letter Huxley wrote of his friend D. H. Lawrence.623 ¶11

This is the same Huxley who showed no interest when I tried to tell him of my birth from above, of David and the visions I have shared with you. He liked me as a friend but he had his own limitations, as everyone does. In a certain social world, if you pronounce a certain word differently you are cataloged as one who is not “in,” as it were, and Huxley would not listen to my visions because I did not speak as he thought everyone should. I could have told him things beyond the wildest dreams of his friend D. H. Lawrence, but because of his little stumbling block Aldous could not hear my words.623 ¶12

But I tell you who are seated here tonight: you are the only God. You will know this from experience, for the day is coming when—instead of seeing your thoughts in your mind’s eye, you will see them three-dimensionally, just as you are now seeing the speaker. When the eye of imagination opens you will instantly move into the thought, whether it is regarding something that took place ten thousand years ago or exists in what you might think to be the future. I tell you: there is nothing that is not here and now, ready for you to enter and become one with.623 ¶13

One day you will realize, like Blake, that neither the just nor the wicked are supreme states, and you will be able to forgive everyone for what he is doing or has done. You will know that although his action seems horrible, based upon this level, he is expressing a state and must do as the state dictates. Good and evil are simply states of experience through which the soul of Man must pass in order to awaken to the being that he really is. He must embrace the fires of experience and be consumed before he can rise from the ashes to be one with the being who sent him.623 ¶14

I can’t tell you the thrill that is in store for you when the eye of imagination opens, for only then will you be actually seeing for the first time. And when the ears are open you will hear what no mortal ear can hear, as you see what no mortal eye can see.623 ¶15

A week or so ago I went to an office regarding my Medicare, and I was asked to prove that I would be sixty-five on my next birthday. I knew that at one time I had obtained my baptismal certificate, but I hadn’t seen it in years and had no idea where it was. Two nights ago, about 1:30 A.M., my divine brothers said to me: “Your baptismal certificate is in your wallet.” I awoke, opened the dresser drawer and there, inside a wallet my wife had given me back in 1938, was the baptismal certificate I had obtained in 1924 when I needed it to go to London during my dancing career. So I know that when the eye and ear of imagination is open, every desire of the heart will be seen and heard. That is your destiny.623 ¶16

I say: you are God, the only actor in this world. No matter what you imagine, God is acting. He is the only actor, acting by imagining. You can imagine anything, cover the act with faith by believing in its reality, and it will come to pass.623 ¶17

When Blake spoke of eternity in his statement: “Eternity exists, and all things in eternity, independent of creation, which was an act of mercy,” he was referring to the little garment of flesh and blood you wear. Your garment is. It is eternal. It is a garment that anyone can—and many will—wear. In my case, this is a garment in which one awakes. I am not the garment called Neville, any more than I am any part I ever played on Broadway. I was in six plays but I never was the characters I played there, but simply the actor. And so it is with God. He is the only actor in eternity and God is the human imagination. It is the human imagination who plotted the entire play before he came down and assumed these eternal bodies of limitation and death. And it is the human imagination who will rise from these eternal bodies into Divine Imagination from whence he came.623 ¶18

In the Book of Genesis we are told: “The serpent spoke and said to the woman, ‘You will not die, for God knows that when you eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, your eye will open and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.’” This is something you must know in order to surpass and rise beyond it as Divine Imagination. The serpent knew that as you ate of the fruit of the tree of good and evil, although you would not die, you would embrace the fire of experience, be consumed as its victim, and rise from its ashes as God Himself. That is the story of scripture.623 ¶19

Blake added this wonderful thought, saying that we left paradise following the serpent. This implies that we did not begin here on earth, but left paradise following the serpent of generation who told us that when we embraced the great experience of good and evil we would be consumed in its fire and yet not die, but would rise from it. In his book, John tells it in a lovely way as: “I came out from the Father and came into the world. Again I am leaving the world and returning to the Father.”623 ¶20

So we did not begin here, but—coming out from the Father—we found these garments that seemed to begin in time, but really are an eternal part of the structure of the universe. In my own case this little garment seemed to begin in 1905, but it was always so. It was always growing into manhood and departing in its sixties. Always appearing, occupied by God, moving towards a certain point and then disappearing. All of these are but garments to be picked up and worn. People think they are the garments they wear. That is because they do not know who God is, for he is in the one who is wearing the garment. It is God, your own wonderful human imagination, who acts and is in existing beings or men. There is no other God, no other actor in the universe.623 ¶21

If you want to test God, you may. Your immortal eyes and ears need not be open to test your creative power. Simply assume you are the one you want to be. Remain faithful to your assumption and, although everything denies it, you will become it. It does not matter who you are or what the world thinks of you; anything is possible to the “I” of imagination.623 ¶22

As I mentioned earlier, had Aldous only listened to my message, rather than my English, I could have told him things beyond the wildest dreams of D. H. Lawrence. But I am a colonial in his eyes and, like all Englishmen, the colonials are looked down upon. If you don’t speak with the Oxford or Cambridge accent, you are a colonial in their eyes and not one of the boys. If Aldous had only listened, I could have told him what it was like to not only be the wave, but to be the ocean. When I was but a boy, years before puberty, in fact it stopped at puberty, I would know the night it was going to happen and was afraid to go to sleep. It was marvelous to be the ocean, but to be the breaking wave, a small portion of my being, was frightening. I, the ocean would toss myself, the wave into the skies and then catch myself upon my own bosom as I fell. This experience would happen to me once a month over a period of years. I could have told him what it was like to be infinite light with no circumference, but my accent put barriers in his mind and he could not hear me.623 ¶23

This is true the world over. People judge from appearances, as the individual’s true being is unseen by mortal eyes. God comes to us unknown and unseen; but in his own wonderful mysterious manner he lets us discover who he is, and when we do it is in a first person, singular, present tense experience.623 ¶24

I am not trying to flatter you when I tell you that you are God. Everyone is. The one who murders is one with the one who is murdered. The rapist is one with his victim. These are all God’s experiences of good and evil in order to surpass good and evil and rise as Divine Imagination, who is God Himself. You and I came down and, embracing the fire of experience, we have been consumed by it. Many a time the little garment that we wore turned to ash; and from that ash we found a new body, just like the old one, only new, healthy and wonderful with not a thing missing, to be consumed once more. And we will keep on being consumed, one after the other, until that moment in time when we rise as the Lord Jesus Christ who is God Himself, to be consumed and restored no more.623 ¶25

So when Blake said: “God only Acts,” he really meant it. God not only acts, he is the only actor. When you begin to imagine, God is acting and what you imagine will happen.623 ¶26

I was late getting here tonight. A friend came for lunch yesterday who, knowing the friend who brings me here every week, said: “Isn’t he unreliable?” and I immediately answered, “No! Never.” She didn’t want to hear that and is a very intense lady who knows how to reach him. Today for the first time my friend called to say he couldn’t make it. An intense imaginal act produced what the lady wanted to hear, but she will never get the satisfaction of hearing me say he was ever late or did not come.623 ¶27

There are people in this world whose surface veneer appears to be altogether wonderful, but below that surface there is an intensity and they do not know that they are only hurting themselves. She can’t touch me, although undoubtedly she has tried; but if she did it would boomerang in a way she would not know. I love her dearly, but she is intense and also of the same school that if you are not of a certain physical background you are not “in.”623 ¶28

I have told you unnumbered times that I have no feeling towards any aristocracy in the world. Though I speak of being a descendant of Abraham, it is not after the flesh, but after the spirit; for in the state of Abraham I believed the story that was told me before that the world was. There is no physical aristocracy. Only the aristocracy of the spirit consisting of those who are called and embodied into the body of the Risen Lord. I could tell her this forever and she would not understand. She believes in physical aristocracy, and there is none.623 ¶29

Do not allow anyone to try to impress you with his greatness relative to yours. I have never been able to feel anyone to be my superior. Physically, yes, they can knock me down with one blow. Intellectually, yes—no question about it. Financially, certainly, but I cannot meet anyone that I believe to be my superior. He may be an intellectual giant, a mathematical giant, a musical giant, a giant in a thousand ways, but that does not mean I feel inferior to him.623 ¶30

I was amused today when I looked at my baptismal certificate. My father’s occupation was listed as a meat vendor. He had a butcher shop. If this lady had seen that I would no longer be socially acceptable to her.623 ¶31

But I urge you to never allow anyone to make you feel less than, because you are infinitely greater than all of the characters of the world put together, as you are God who is playing all the parts. And you will play them all. The phony, and the decent ones, the rich man, the poor man, the known, the unknown—you have played them all or you would not be here. The reason why you are here is because you are on the verge of awakening. And you will awaken from the dream to discover that you created the play, and finding no one to play the parts, you have played them yourself.623 ¶32

And when you have played them all, you will awaken by a certain, definite series of events that take place within you. Then the inner eye and ear will open as mine did this morning, when the brothers told me where to find my baptismal certificate. I do not think I have looked in that wallet for thirty years. I do not carry a wallet. I do not drive and my wife carries the money and gives me whatever money I want, so what would I do with a wallet? Yet the crumpled little yellow page was there, just as my brothers said it would be.623 ¶33

I tell you: there isn’t a thing that does not exist now and here. We speak of the moon as billions of years old; but you cannot measure your age because there never was a time when you were not, nor will there ever be a time when you will cease to be. You didn’t begin in time. You came down into time—which you, yourself created—to experience good and evil, to expand the being that you always were. Even though your birth certificate shows you began in time, you didn’t, for you are the wearer of the garment. You are its actor who is God Himself.623 ¶34

You cannot even say God is near, because nearness implies separation. He is not near, for when you say, “I am” you are proclaiming he is your very self.623 ¶35

Begin now to believe in your true Being who is God, and whatever you imagine to be so, firmly believe it is so, and it will be so. Now let us go into the silence.623 ¶36

Thy Words Were Found

We read in the 15th chapter of the Book of Jeremiah, “Thy words were found, and I ate them, and they became a joy to me and a delight to my heart”—then he gives the reasons, and the reasons are as he gives them—“I am called by thy name, O Lord, God of hosts”. He found the words of God and he ate them, and as he ate them they became a joy and a delight to his heart. Then he gives the reason why…because “I am called by thy name.” Thy name is “O Lord, God of hosts.” The Word is what every man in the world—by man I mean generic man, male, female made he them, every child born of woman—must experience. He assimilates the Word: he hears it, he understands it, he accepts it, he fully believes it; and then suddenly it erupts within him, and he has an experience of the Word, and he himself is God. There is no other Creator, no other God.622 ¶1

So in the New Testament we find the story of the Word: “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him and without him was not anything made that was made. He was in the world, the world was made by him, and the world knew him not”. He came to his own home and his own people received him not. And you ask, “What was it that Jeremiah actually ate?” Well, it’s the Word. What is the Word? What did he discover to be the truth concerning God by whose name he was called? He discovered that your own wonderful human Imagination is God…that’s what Jeremiah discovered.622 ¶2

Blake tells it in a simple way. It’s so simply told that people think, well now, this is told for little children, for he calls it The Songs of Innocence. He calls it The Lamb. He said, “Little Lamb, who made thee? Dost thou know who made thee? I’ll tell thee who made thee…for he calls himself a lamb. He is meek, and he is mild; he became a little child. I a child, and thou a lamb, we are called by his name. Little Lamb, God bless thee!” And we think that’s a nursery rhyme. Blake is telling you the most profound thing that one could tell. Here, he calls himself a lamb and yet he is the little child, the Christ child. Well, “I am a child” said Blake, “and thou art a lamb, and we are called by his name.” He’s repeating the same story as told in the 15th chapter, the 16th verse, of Jeremiah.622 ¶3

Here, your own wonderful human Imagination is the God of scripture. Listen to another statement of Blake’s: “Babel mocks”—well, that’s the world, Babel is the world with its multiple tongues—“Babel mocks, saying there is no God nor Son of God, that thou, O Human Imagination, O Divine Body, art all a delusion; but I know thee, O Lord, when thou arisest upon my weary eyes, even in this dungeon and this iron mill. For thou sufferest with me tho’ I behold thee not.” And then the divine voice replie,s “Fear not! I am with you always…only believe in me, that I have power to raise from death thy brother who sleepeth in Albion; fear not, trembling shade”. Here, your own wonderful human Imagination is the God of scripture. It is the Jesus Christ spoken of, for John identifies Jesus Christ with the Creator, and here the Creator’s name is called “the Lord.” He is called “the Lord” and he is called “the Lord, God of hosts.” And Jeremiah, which means “God or Jehovah will rise,” is telling you that he is called by the name of the Lord: “I am called by thy name” and then he names it, “O Lord, God of hosts.”622 ¶4

Then man discovers that he is actually the Lord, the God of hosts. But while he wears the garment of flesh he is restrained, he is restricted to all the weaknesses and all the limitations of the flesh. And he decays as all bodies decay…everything decays in this world. But in spite of the decay of the thing that he wears like a mask, he, the wearer of the mask, is the Lord, the God of hosts. One day he will experience that he is. No matter what the world will say, he knows there is no such thing as “I believe” anymore; there is an assured “I know” for I have experienced it. Even though I must continue in the world wearing a garment that slowly wears out, and eventually it must be so worn out it has to be discarded. But after the experience, you’re no longer restored into another garment similar to the one that you’ve worn out. You depart from this altogether into the body that was yours before that the world was. And wherever that body is there is heaven. For heaven is only the body that is alive, this infinite body, and wherever you are, the realm in which you dwell is harmonious, it is heaven. For heaven is a body, the body that you will wear in eternity; and no matter where you go everything is transformed into the perfection that your body is. So you don’t go into a realm called heaven; you are heaven by reason of the fact that you wear the body that now you have awakened within you, which is the imaginative body. Wherever that body goes it is heaven. Not a thing can remain imperfect in the presence of one who wears the risen body. If you went into hell, instantly—not over a period of time but instantly it’s transformed into heaven. No matter where you go it is heaven.622 ¶5

And if you are not wearing that body, wherever you go it is really hell…as this world is hell, all decay, all conflict…everything in the world is really in a conflict. So when he said, “Thy words were found and I ate them,” how would I eat words? Do you know many a person has taken the Bible and eaten the Bible? I went to the mental institution in Barbados with my brother Lawrence, who is now gone from this world, who was the doctor there. Here, all these mental patients, many of them with their Bibles tearing them up and eating them. Eating the pages…I actually saw it and I could hardly believe my eyes…they were eating the Bible…they took it literally. And we aren’t helped by the early church fathers who changed the Word of God. For here, the prophets inspired as they were wrote what they heard and what they saw, and the early church fathers added to the Word of God to make it conform to their traditions, their conventions, and changed the entire picture.622 ¶6

I’ll give you just a couple of examples. In the 3rd chapter of the Book of John there’s a conversation between one called Nicodemus, who was a master of Israel, a member of the Sanhedrin. He would be like any Cardinal today, the master of what is considered the right thing concerning God. He encounters now one who stands in the presence as God, for he has experienced God, and he said, “When you see me you see the Father. I am the Father.” Then he makes the statement, “Unless you be born from above, you cannot enter the kingdom of Heaven”. Nicodemus replied, “How can one who is old once more enter into his mother’s womb and be born?” He said, “You a master of Israel and you do not understand?” Now take the 5th verse, “Truly, truly, I say unto you, unless one is born” and now they have added “water and.” It isn’t so. The verse now reads “Unless you are born of water and the Spirit, you cannot enter the kingdom of God.” The words “water and” are added; they are not in the original script. These are added by the editor, the early fathers of a church, to give support to their tradition of baptizing a child with water.622 ¶7

Now the 8th verse—I’ve just quoted you the 5th verse—let me read you the 8th verse: “The wind blows where it wills, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know whence it comes or whither it goes; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Now the word “water” is not used in the 8th. Here in the 5th he has added “water and”; here in the 8th water is not…that is gone from the script. You must be born of the Spirit. And now he likens the Spirit to the wind…and the word in Hebrew and Greek for Spirit and for wind is the same word. So, as the Spirit blows or moves, you may say…but he uses the word, the translator calls it now “wind”…“as the wind blows where it wills, and you hear the sound of it, but you cannot tell whence it comes nor whither it goes; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Well now, when my mother came to this country when my little boy was two and a half years old, one of the first questions she asked of me was, “Where was Junior baptized?”…that’s my little son, two and a half years old. I said, “He wasn’t baptized.” “Oh,” she said, “Neville, how could you? Suppose he dies?” I said, “What has that to do with anything?” She said, “He couldn’t go to heaven. If he isn’t baptized, he couldn’t go to heaven.” Mother was stuck with that one little word which her minister taught her, “You must be born of water and the Spirit” and “the water” he explained to her—and to millions in the world who call themselves Christians—is baptism by water. It hasn’t a thing to do…that’s been added by the early church fathers just to support and sustain their concepts which they practiced. It’s quite an income. You’re not charged for baptism, but it is expected that you give something. It amounts to a considerable sum of money. This is one of the little things, one of the little indulgences of our churches and you can multiply that all over the world.622 ¶8

I know from my own experience having been born from above that the wind is correct and the water is false. You hear a wind and the wind is in your head, but it also comes from without, seemingly from without. You do not know whence it comes…you think it’s from this direction and you look over here. At the same time you’re looking there, you also feel it in your head. Then when the whole drama is over and the infant appears, then the wind disappears…so you cannot tell “whence it comes or whither it goes; so is every one who is born of the Spirit,” and not a thing to do with water.622 ¶9

When the side is pierced and out comes water and blood that has been added. It’s a symbol of birth, yes, but that has been added. If you take the 6th chapter, which is one of the most difficult chapters in John, all based upon a peculiar thing concerning “eating my body.” Well, the “body” of scripture is the Word and the Word is God—you understand it and you assimilate it and you’re eating it. You actually eat it by assimilation. What you cannot assimilate, like the physical world, then you will reject and therefore you eliminate. I can’t quite understand this and so I will simply eliminate it; I can’t quite take it in and assimilate it. So we’ll start with the 51st verse of the 6th chapter. You can eliminate from the second half of the 51st verse right through to the 58th verse and go into the 59th…and it’s all about “eating my body.” He said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven. He who eats my body will live forever.” This he said in the synagogue. In between these nine verses you find all the things that support the Eucharist, support the Holy Communion. And just to support the traditions of the church the early fathers added those nine verses, from the second half of the 51st verse through the 58th verse of the 6th of John. We could take you through the entire book and all the other gospels, the [...], and show you where the redactor made it conform to the traditions of the church.622 ¶10

And today, well, as my mother said to me concerning my little boy’s baptism…so I went down to please my mother and arranged with some Episcopal minister to baptize him. Well, the only thing that happens to a little child in baptism, or to an adult when they’re old, could be catching a cold. Not a thing happens spiritually may I tell you. My first wife who got religion at the advanced years and joined some…I don’t know…Baptist? No, she joined the…oh, what was this…well, it will come to me eventually. But she joined it and took my little boy over to an indoor pool at the St. George Hotel in Brooklyn. She was going to be completely immersed. She couldn’t swim anymore than my little boy could swim, and they almost got drowned. She was going to be just completely immersed and so she’s going to get religion. All she got was just on the verge of death. And my little boy who couldn’t swim, she did the same thing to him, not knowing that when he was two and a half, because of my mother’s fear that he would go to hell if he, an innocent little boy, wasn’t baptized, I allowed this performance.622 ¶11

So I tell you, throughout the book when you read it there are so many things that the early fathers incorporated in spite of the warning which they would not heed. You read it at the end of Proverbs, “Let no one add to or take from the words of the prophecy of this book”. In the very end of the Bible, in the very last chapter of Revelation, we are warned against adding to or taking from the words of the book. But they would not heed the warning. They are going to make it conform to their traditions and their conventions. And you never heard the statement in scripture coming from the mighty I AM states, when all through John he said, “I am the light of the world, I am the bread, I am the door, I am the way”—all these mighty I AM statements—it never said, “I am the conventions, I am the traditions.” But to support their traditions the early fathers inserted and added to the Word of God.622 ¶12

So here, I tell you behind the mask that you are wearing is the only God. There is nothing but God. Divine Imagination reproduced himself in you in your own wonderful human Imagination. And because he contains all, all is contained in the human Imagination. Man one day will awaken to this fact to discover the whole vast world is himself pushed out as the whole vast world is God pushed out. This, as he awakens in you, begins to expand within the bosom of Divine Imagination. You are the human Imagination, but it is one with Divine Imagination. So reproduced in us is the Divine Imagination. And who is the “us”?—human Imagination. Certainly not in this little body…this is only the mask that I wear. So here, we eat the body of God by hearing the Word and then assimilating it. I hear it. I may not at the moment be able to understand it. As we’re told in the Book of Nehemiah, “They read from the Word of God, and they read it with interpretation; and they gave the meaning, so that the people understood that which was read”. So it all came from within and they understood it. Well, when you hear it, do you understand it? If you don’t understand it, go over it and over and over again.622 ¶13

But the New is only the fulfillment of the Old. So when you’re told, “I am the bread,” he’s only quoting from Jeremiah. He said, “I found your Words” and he is called the Word of God. Now he identifies the Word with that statement in Jeremiah: “Your words have been found and I ate them, and they became to me a joy and the delight of my heart; for I am called by thy name, O Lord, God of hosts”.622 ¶14

Well, man is embarrassed to be told he is the Lord, the God of hosts when he can’t pay rent, when he can’t buy clothes, when he can’t eat as he would like to eat…and he is the Lord, the God of hosts? Yes, limited by the body that he is wearing. And no one imposed it upon him; he did it all by himself: “No one takes away my life, I lay it down myself. I have the power to lay it down and the power to lift it up again”. So I did it for a purpose: I did it that I may expand. For the joy is constant expansion. I could not expand unless I first contracted. So I reach the limit of contraction called “man” and this contraction is the limit of opacity. Then at a certain moment I break the shell, and what is contained within is the God who created it all, and it begins to expand. And everyone in this world will succeed…not one can fail.622 ¶15

So I may be satisfied today with my little earnings in the world, my little place in which I live, but all of this is a contraction. The day will come I will actually eat the Word of God: I will experience the Word of God, and when I experience the Word of God then I will know that I am he. But not until I am that hungry will I do it. As we are told in the Book of Amos, “I will send a famine upon the land; it will not be a hunger for bread, nor a thirst for water, but for the hearing of the words of God”.622 ¶16

The average person is not interested in hearing the word of God. When they go to church what do they hear? I read in this morning’s paper some sermon given yesterday in Santa Monica, and the minister is telling the congregation that religion should be rooted in reason. Of all the asinine things in the world! Religion is revealed truth which cannot be logically proven. It’s revealed truth.622 ¶17

How could you explain to anyone logically the story of the birth from above? How could Nicodemus ever grasp until he experienced the birth from above how it could be done? I am born from below as the whole vast world is born from below, from the womb of woman. How could I, a grown man, approaching the grave, be born from above? And where is “above”? The world thinks the above is out there, and the above is within; for in scripture “above” and “within” are the same, and “below” and “without” are the same. So I came into the world by being born from below; I enter into my eternal state by being born from within. That “within-ness” is from above, and that “above-ness” is the skull of man. That’s where I was born from above, and not any water was present in the birth, so, no baptism of that nature whatsoever.622 ¶18

So here, we find the words “water and” and we delete them in that 5th verse of the 3rd chapter of John…just delete them. You’re not born of the water and the Spirit; you are born of the Spirit…so forget the water. And so, if it pleases the family when a little child is born to have the child baptized, then please the family…that’s all. I pleased my mother when I took my little boy down and had him baptized for her satisfaction, that she would feel that if he should die at least he would have a chance to enter heaven.622 ¶19

And you only enter heaven from here when you are born from above. When I say here, here does not end with death. The world does not terminate at the point where my senses cease to register it; therefore, when someone departs this life they are still here in a world terrestrial just like this. So they go on, and they will be born from within, which is from above, from their skull. They will be restored to life. All are restored except those who have experienced the birth from above, and they now can die no more. They can’t pass through any more departures from one state to another. They are now sons of God, and the son of God is one with God: I and my Father are one.622 ¶20

So here in this statement of Jeremiah, he discovered that Jehovah rose within him. When he rises within me, well then, when I wear that garment in which he rises—which is my garment that I took off to come into this garment—then all impossibilities will dissolve at that touch of exaltation which his rising in me imparts to my nature. So wherever I go then clothed in that form is heaven. So heaven is not a location; heaven is the body that I wear and wherever I go wearing that body is the realm called heaven. For everything is transformed in harmony with the perfection that is now springing and rising within me.622 ¶21

So I know from experience that these things are really inserted and they have violated scripture by adding to the words of God. So that statement in Blake when he identifies the human Imagination with the divine body of the Lord Jesus Christ. And then the world denies that there is a God. The mocking world says, “There is no God nor Son of God, that thou, O human Imagination, art all a delusion. That thou, the human Imagination which is the divine body of God really does not exist. But I know thee, O Lord”—he knew exactly the one who returns morning after morning upon his weary eyes, because he could bring through the vision right down to the moment when he once more awoke within the garment of flesh. So he came through remembering exactly what he had done and how he came back through this bridge of incident that led him into the so-called waking world of this mundane state. So then, he returned upon his weary eyes…he opened his eyes to know how it came back. For in that state whatever he imagined happened and he knew the power of the Creator, that all things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. If you awake in a dream, you can control the dream, and you know exactly who is doing it: your Imagination. If you ever catch yourself dreaming, you either quickly awake, as you undoubtedly will, or in that state you control everything that you do and you know exactly the controller and the begetter, and he is your Imagination. If you awake and not awake here, then you will control everything that you are doing and make it come out. So when you return upon the weary eyes in this dungeon and this iron mill, you still remember the Lord and the Lord was your own wonderful human Imagination.622 ¶22

One day, you will completely awake in that body and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other Jesus Christ. Everything in the world is but your own wonderful Imagination pushed out. Here in this world you did this for a purpose, a heavenly purpose. The restriction you imposed upon yourself was for the purpose of expansion and you could not expand until you first reached the limit of contraction, the limit of opacity.622 ¶23

I can’t tell you the thrill that is mine when I’m getting your letters and reading how you are awakening, one after the other, as the visions are coming through. But everyone will. Those who tonight would deny it completely, condemning it, then forgive them. It makes no difference. Let them condemn it forever. I am not speaking any longer as one who will say, “I believe it…I was told it by my mother whom I trusted and I believe her implicitly.” I don’t have to say that any more. Mine is an assured I know! Mine is not rooted in reason; mine is revealed truth. Truth is revealed: it is God’s unveiling himself in the individual, for God became man that man may become God…so in man he unveils himself. It’s revealed. You cannot in any way logically come to any of these conclusions. You cannot prove truth by any logic in the world; it simply unveils itself. And then you tell it…some believe it and some deny it.622 ¶24

So when you read Blake bear in mind he wasn’t writing for any little child as you understand a child. He was telling the most profound truth in the language of the child that it may be kept alive. Because it is so beautifully told it will it will live forever and forever. “Little lamb, dost thou know who made thee? Little lamb I’ll tell thee. He is called by thy name, for he calls himself a lamb. He is meek and he is mild; he became a little child. I a child, and thou a lamb, we are called by his name.” So he’s telling you in the most beautiful manner exactly the experience of Jeremiah in the 15th chapter, the 16th verse of Jeremiah.622 ¶25

So when we speak of the lamb being slain, all right, not a little lamb…that’s a symbol. I took my own life when I came down here, you took your own life when you came here, and we are the one being who did it. He calls the one being Albion, the universal humanity in which all are contained. So in this one man all men fell, and we individually rise back into the one man. So the one man is gathering himself together, one by one, into the same one man who is God, who came down into universal humanity. And not one will be missing; every one will be gathered. He will leave the ninety and nine who are saved and go in search of the one because the body is not complete until all are redeemed. So all are brought back into the one body that fell, and that one body is God. You and I are contained in him and we are called “the gods in the one.” So the word translated “the Lord” would be singular and the word translated “God” is plural, it’s Elohim. So when we speak of the great confession of faith of the Hebrew, “Hear, O Israel: the Lord,” that’s singular…“our God,” that’s plural…“the Lord,” singular, “is one”. So the one became fragmented into the many, and all are gathered one by one into the same one Lord. So you hear this wonderful confession, “Shema, Israel, jah adonai elohenu adonai achad.” One Lord…the numberless gods gathered together in the one Lord. Every one is going to have this identical experience.622 ¶26

And so, if I could take from you the few little things that have been added into scripture because they confuse the mind, forget the word “water.” You are not born of water and the Spirit; you are born of the Spirit. No physical baptism has anything to do with your second birth. Completely forget it…whether you were completely immersed in the river or a little water thrown on your head. Most of the little children cry anyway…if you’ve gone to these baptismals…they scare the little things to death. But that is not important. If it pleases, as it did my mother, then do it to please the one rather than offend her. But don’t think for one second you have to be baptized by any person in this world. Who by the laying on of hands in this world can do anything for you? Who by taking a little water and putting it on your head can do anything to you spiritually? But you will find a real baptism when you stand in the presence of the risen Lord whose body is gathering together one after one after one, and then he embraces you. That is baptism by the Holy Spirit.622 ¶27

And then you are sent to have the experiences of the Word of God: “For my word cannot return unto me void; it must accomplish that which I purpose, and prosper in the thing for which I sent it”. So the Word is God himself and he’s in you. He sent himself and then you go through all these afflictions of the world, and then one day it suddenly erupts within you, and you are called by his name and you are the Lord, God of hosts. You are looking upon the whole vast world and you realize it is yourself pushed out…everything in the world is yourself pushed out. So if you don’t like what’s going on, you can only change it by changing your attitude towards it and change it within yourself. It cannot change unless you first change your attitude towards it, because the whole thing is within you. And when you see it changed to conform to the change in you, then you really have confirmation of what is taught in scripture.622 ¶28

Then one day you awake, and you know when the final day comes after you’re awake…it can’t be delayed too long…well then, you enter into that garment that was yours before that the world was. Then you become one of the watchers from above who contemplate the world of death, waiting eagerly for the return of all your brothers, for we are all brothers. We were before the world was, we still are though we don’t recognize each other, and we will be when this world ceases to be. But all will be enhanced by reason of the experience of coming into the world of death and conquering death.622 ¶29

What I’m telling you tonight I tell from experience; I am not speculating, I am not theorizing. Weak as I am in the world of Caesar, limited as I am, I still know the experience and I cannot deny the experience. I could no more deny this experience than I could deny the simplest evidence of my senses. I had dinner tonight, I drove here with a friend, I know exactly what happened and I couldn’t deny that. Well, I couldn’t deny my experience. If I deny that, it’s like saying I didn’t come here tonight with my friend and my wife. I can’t deny it, it is so real to me.622 ¶30

And I know that everyone here is going to have it, but when, I cannot tell you. The day, the hour remains the secret of the Father in you, for he will not awaken within you until he has accomplished his purpose. He sent himself into the world clothed as you. When he awakens, you are the Lord God Almighty, but still restricted until that moment in time when you take off the garment as you would as an actor…take it off and hang it up in the costume department. Then you depart from the stage, depart from the theater.622 ¶31

Now while we are here there is a technique given to us where we can make it easier…knowing who God is, and God is our own wonderful human Imagination. We can imagine that we are the man, the woman that we would like to be and persuade ourselves that we are; and to the degree that we are faithful to that assumption, that assumption will harden into fact. If I could now persuade myself that I am…but I must first of all want it.622 ¶32

The world will say to you, well, why don’t you want to be rich? Well, maybe you don’t want wealth. It’s the most difficult thing in the world to convince someone that you really don’t want to be rich. They think you’re insane, you must be insane. Don’t you want to be well-known like, say, Richard Burton, who could spend a million dollars for a diamond for his girl? And you say, no, I have no desire to have a million dollars to spend on a diamond for my wife, none whatsoever. The little that I gave her she doesn’t wear, and so she has no desire for that, and I have no money to that extent, none whatsoever. Well, they think something’s wrong with you. Well, that’s perfectly all right. Leave that individual just as he is. If he wants a million to spend on a diamond, let him have it, and pray for him that he may have it. But personally I have no such desire, none whatsoever. I’m not alone, I’m quite sure I am part of the majority.622 ¶33

Because I had no desire to be known when everything in this world is fading and will vanish and only the immortal you will remain and he doesn’t function in this world. So everything you ever accomplished in this world will pass and really pass forever and leave not a trace behind. But the you of whom I speak and to whom I am speaking are immortal…that’s the eternal being. And when you awake, you awake in an immortal body. It is perfect, it cannot be improved, and wherever you are that realm is perfect. There can be no blind, no deaf, no halt, no weakness, no limitation wherever you are. Everything in your world as you walk by is transformed into the perfection that is you…and that is heaven. So, really, heaven is not a locality, it really is a body, it’s a character, and that character as it moves in the world, the universe, transforms every place where it is into heaven. That becomes then the realm for the time that you dwell in it and leave it for anyone else, for when you go on wherever you go is perfect, for it is heaven.622 ¶34

So when you read this, don’t think a man is going to eat a piece of paper as I saw them in Barbados doing it. And that’s not alone they do it all over the world. When you eat the Word of God, you first hear it with understanding, with interpretation, and you say yes to it. When you can say yes to it then you accept it and you’re eating it, you’re assimilating it. You can’t take it all at the same time. Certain portions of it you can’t digest, and so you simply reject it for awhile. Eventually you’ll eat the entire loaf…as my friend saw the entire loaf alive and blood pouring from it. It was all bread, beautiful symbolism, beautiful imagery and so true.622 ¶35

She has completely accepted the fact that all things spring out of her own wonderful human Imagination. And he could not for one moment alter the fact as she called the number one after the other and it all added up to the whole loaf. “Eat my body and drink my blood.” She doesn’t have to go to any church to have a little piece of wafer and a little sip of wine. She saw the entire thing because she has eaten the body of God: she has completely accepted the fact that imagining creates reality. Whether she proves it in performance or not she still accepts it one hundred percent. So she may falter in proving it in the testing, but she has completely accepted it and that’s why the symbol came to her in a vision.622 ¶36

And so, she may tomorrow because she’s married, she has two children and third is coming, she may find moments of difficulty in her life, but having seen that symbol she will always fall back upon it and know she can’t pass the buck. She can’t blame her husband, John, or her three children, as the one is to be. She has to turn and say, “No man takes it from me ;I lay it down myself. That no man cometh unto me save my Father calls him, and I and my Father are one.” So you are a rascal and you couldn’t come into my world unless my Father called you, and I and my Father are one. So you came to take from me what is mine, and if you succeed in taking it, I still say you could not have come unless I called you. You could not have taken it unless I by my attitude toward life allowed it. So the whole vast world is myself pushed out. I either control it or I don’t control it.622 ¶37

And that’s the story of scripture. There is no other God than your own wonderful human Imagination. So when you speak of Jesus Christ and you bow you head mentally if not physically, do the same thing when you think in terms of your wonderful Imagination. For that is Jesus Christ, that is the Word of God who is God himself, and by your own wonderful human Imagination the world was created and that world is supported and sustained. It changes only as you change your Imagination. Believe that and you will live in a wonderful, beautiful world.622 ¶38

Now let us go into the Silence.622 ¶39

Q and A

[...]622 ¶41

Speaker

Well, my dear, I gave you tonight the words of God. I could give you no deeper than I gave you tonight: you are God. When you look into the mirror you see a lady and you say here is [...], and that’s the name you’ll answer to if I call you by it. But your name as told tonight is the Lord, God of hosts. Yet without loss of identity and though you are the Lord, God of hosts, you will respond to that name. You love the name. I respond to the name Neville. When I heard the heavenly chorus sing my praises when I was risen they called me by my name Neville. They said, “Neville is risen.” They didn’t say the Lord, God of hosts or God of hosts; they said Neville. So they’ll call you by name. You’re completely individualized and not in eternity will you cease to be. In fact, forever and forever you’ll be more and more individualized, so that you’re distinct and you’re not going to be absorbed into one body. You are that body, but you have your individual being. That’s the joy of brotherhood. I will know you in eternity and know you as one that I knew before that the world was. And like a great masquerade, it’s always hilarious when the mask comes off and we see who we love behind the mask that we did not recognize when they wore the mask. But when you have these experiences, [...], write them for me…write them out. Let me just dwell upon them for awhile, will you?622 ¶42

Speaker

When you talk about identity, do you mean when you are aware of being? If when you awaken you don’t lose your identity, then your identity is like exactly where I am today?622 ¶43

Speaker

Your true identity is the Lord Jesus Christ and that’s your true identity forever and forever. But the Lord Jesus Christ comes to us as one unknown yet in a mysterious manner he lets us experience who he is, and when we experience who he is we discover who we are. So without loss of identity you are the Lord Jesus Christ. I am still Neville and yet I have experienced everything said in scripture concerning the Lord Jesus Christ, including crucifixion. And it was not as painted in scripture, a sad event; it was ecstasy. It’s a joy beyond the wildest dream…no blood and water came out. There were six points in my body, but they were ecstatically done, whirling vortices, six not five…two feet, two hands, my head and my right side were vortices and the ecstasy that you enter into when you feel it! And this is only a remembrance. You can remember the event and relive it, but not to the extent that you do when you first lived it. This is only a remembrance, mind you, and yet the ecstasy was so great. So I tell you, we have been crucified with Christ. “It is not I who live but he who lives in me and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and became me”…and that was God himself. So I could not lose my identity. I recall it vividly…it was the fulfillment of the 42nd chapter of the Book of Psalms. That was my triumphal journey into the holy city, when I heard the voice, and the crowd that I led in procession to the house of God. What the voice said to me and it was heard only by me from the depths of my own soul. Then came the crucifixion and it was ecstatic, it was beautiful…whirling vortices in my hands, my head, my right side, and the soles of my feet. So, far from being a sad event, it was a heavenly event! And the churches do not teach it that way. They have completely misrepresented the mystery, because the men who ran the churches are men without vision. You aren’t elected as a cardinal because you’ve had a mystical experience; you’re elected cardinal because of your capacity to raise enormous sums of money. If you can prove you’re a good business administrator and raise enormous sums of money, you are right in line for the next little cap. Don’t tell me any pope was elected in any other way than we now elect our presidents. This does not mean that he has any spiritual vision whatsoever…any more than Mr. Nixon has. I don’t think he would claim that he has. He was elected as a politician by pressure groups who have been promised that they would get certain things if he was successful in getting the election, and he has to keep his promise or not run the second time. Well, the pope is running for office in the same manner. It’s never unanimous. They go in there and spend hours, sometimes days, before the smoke comes through the chimney. If it was a unanimous decision from on high it would be automatic. It’s never a unanimous decision. How can God, who is one, not bring in a unanimous decision?622 ¶44

When you awake you find out your true identity, which is the Lord; then when I awake, my identity will be the Lord, which is the same as your identity—the true identity is the same for everyone—then how can you all raise up in a body with your own identity if it’s all the same?622 ¶45

Speaker

Here, if you are the Father of my Son, are we not one being, though seemingly two? See, there’s only one Son and the one Father, so if all of us have the experience of being the Father of that one Son, we are one. Now read carefully, and may I tell you, try to commit it to memory, the 17th chapter of the gospel of John: “I in them and they in me…that they may be one as we are one. And Father, I have made known to them thy name and will make it known”. The name he made known was “Father.” So I tell you, I dwell in you and I am the Father and I have a Son. If I dwell in you and I awake in you without changing your identity, I awaken you as Father. Then the same Son that called me “Father” when God awoke in me is the Son who’s going to call you “Father.” Well, if you are the Father of my son David, then he doesn’t have two fathers…there’s only one Father. Then you will realize the unity of humanity. And today, no matter what skin he wears, when he awakens and he is God the Father because of the Son calling him Father, and the same Son called me Father and I know I am his Father, you will have the same innate knowledge that you are the Father. This wisdom from above is without uncertainty, so you will know it. Well, knowing that you are the Father of that one Son who calls me Father, you will know when you look at me that you and I are one. And if you will ever forgive yourself for an act that you did wittingly or unwittingly and you heard that I had done it, you would know that you did it, and therefore you’ll forgive me. So, “Father, forgive them; they know not what they do”. If you would like to be forgiven for an act which you heard that I had done and you would have the experience I have had, you would willingly forgive me, because you would know that you and I are one. There’s no other way that we would ever know the unity of being save through the Son revealing us as God the Father. And I’m telling you, and I’ve never read it before save in scripture—but I didn’t know it in scripture until I experienced it—that the true Son who reveals man as God the Father is David. It’s in scripture. You will realize that he called Jesus Christ “Father”…also in scripture. And so, when he calls you “Father,” though to the world you are a little person that is ignored, not worthy of a second glance…they pass by not knowing that they just passed one who knows he is the Lord Jesus Christ. Should they be told you are, they would not be impressed, because they’re judging from appearances and they do not know. But go into a restaurant and say, “Look who’s over there,” and you say, “Well, who?” “Well, look at that person, know who he is?” And you don’t know. “Well, he has a billion dollars!” And of course, they’re so impressed because he has a billion dollars. They never tell you how he got it…that is hush-hush. The third generation from that inheritance will enter the social register and they will be in all the great books of the world because they have money. You will walk by having had the experience of being the Lord Jesus Christ and no one will know or care, because that’s not the Lord Jesus Christ that they are expecting. They’re expecting some being to come from without. He can never come from without: he comes from within and he allows the individual to experience who he is, and when you experience who he is, it’s who you are. That’s how he allows you to experience who he is. So you never see him as another; you can only experience him as yourself. When I hear Billy Graham getting up and saying that he hopes that he’ll live long enough to meet the second coming of Jesus Christ, and he’ll go forward and shake his hand. Well, millions hear his voice and he’s highly publicized and they go all for it…the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. When I read that in the New York Times, well, I could hardly believe that I’m seeing correctly. I reread it and reread it…yes, unless they misquoted him, which they could…but he’s waiting eagerly and hoping that he will live long enough, because he thinks that signs that are about now are the signs of the coming of the Lord for the second time. He hasn’t the slightest concept of the mystery of Jesus Christ. But I say that and they say, “Now what are you talking about, were you ordained?” Of course, knowing that they’re orthodox in mind, I say, “To the degree that Jesus Christ was ordained. Who ordained him?” What man had the power to put his hand upon his head and add anything to him…if you think of a personal Jesus Christ? Did he go to college? What college did he attend? Is it not said in the 7th chapter of John, “How can this man have such learning seeing that he is not schooled?”, so did he? Name the college. Was it Harvard? I don’t recall they said it was Harvard or Yale or Princeton or USC. I have no knowledge that he said these things. Well then…but his background…he tells you is not what the world thought it was…his background is God. He said, “I came out …the one you call God…but I know my Father and you know not your God.” Well, how can this be? We know his father and his mother and his brothers and his sisters, how can he make this claim? Well, I do the same thing. You know my father and my mother, two delightful people, gone from this world, but you know them…or you can investigate their backgrounds. You know my brothers, most of them are still here, and my sister. Well, how can he make these claims? So everything said of him I can claim, for I have experienced the identical story which is my personal spiritual auto-biography. Good night.622 ¶46

Experience the Mystery of Christ

The hostile attitude of the world to this great mystery of Jesus Christ is their ignorance of who the Father is. You will know who you really are, the heavenly being that came down into this world, to the degree that you experience the mystery of Jesus Christ. And when you experience it, you will discover you are Jesus Christ. There never was another and never will be another. Just follow me closely in a little drama that is told us in the Book of John. The word Pilate means “closely pressed” like a contracted form, the limit, really, of contraction and of opacity. But like all these characters they are personified and these are attributes, these are qualities. To see the characters of scripture as characters of history is to see truth tempered to the weakness of the human soul. They are all states, eternal states.621 ¶1

So Pilate is not really a person as you are a person, as I am a person; it’s the contracted state. The story is taking place within you. So Pilate said to him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” And he answered, “Do you say this of your own accord, or did others tell you about it?” Do you know this from experience or is it hearsay? You ask me the question, “Am I King of the Jews?” Now he doesn’t deny that he is…he simply is asked the question. But he wonders if this contracted state has reached the point of being broken now. It must reach the point where the shell is going to break and then it will know of its own accord. And then he said, “So you are a king?” He said, “You say that I am.” For he had said, “For this I was born, and for this I came into the world, to bear witness to the truth.” And then the contracted form asked the question, “What is truth?” Based upon this level, it is true that the pitcher is here, that the glass is here, that you are here, that I am here, but he is not speaking of this truth. The truth of which the true being that you are speaks is the true knowledge of God. He’s not speaking of anything known to the world of science. Today we’re on the way to the moon for the second time, but that is not the story of the Bible. He is speaking of the being that created the moon, that created the heavens, and that sustains the heavens. And he’s trying to tell every being in the world that the being that did it you are but you have forgotten. You came down into this limit of contraction, this limit of opacity. And so, do you know it now when you ask the question of your own accord or were you told it by another? Did one tell you about me? Well then, you really do not know it…you’ve got to know it by having experienced it.621 ¶2

So to the degree that man experiences the mystery of Christ he understands Christ. Whether you call yourself the pope or an ordinary minister or a layman, it means nothing. You could be someone washing floors tonight who will know by experience who they really are. They’ll know that they are Jesus Christ by having experienced Jesus Christ.621 ¶3

Now let us turn to the poet Browning. He said, “Truth is within ourselves; it takes no rise from outward things, what’er you may believe. There is an inmost center in us all, where truth abides in fullness…and to know rather consists in opening out a way whence the imprisoned splendor may escape, than in effecting entry of a light supposed to be without.” He took three of the mighty I AM statements in the Book of John, “I am the truth, I am the way…I am the light of the world” and incorporated them into this very short statement: there is an inmost center in us all where truth abides in fullness…not just a little bit but in fullness. He likens this to an imprisoned splendor. And then he speaks of the way and the way is from within. To think that some Christ is coming from without is to misunderstand completely the great mystery. It’s entirely within us.621 ¶4

As you sit here now in this little room and you seem to be so small in this enormous universe, and yet you seated here in this contracted state and this contracted state is Pilate who questions your sanity when you begin to stir within you—and asks these questions. It’s all between you…the whole contest is within the individual. And then that effulgence within comes out. It arouses itself, it awakes within this little garment and the Creator of the universe comes out of the individual. I tell you, I know it from experience. You are not some little tiny being at all, no matter what the world will tell you. You’ve gone through hell and maybe you’ll go through more, but the search is to find self, and the self you’re seeking for is your Father who is yourself.621 ¶5

It’s told in scripture but told in such a strange and wonderful manner: “And Jesus said, ‘Go and say unto him, ‘I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star”. I am the root, the origin, the Father, and yet I am the offspring of David. I am the father of David; I am the offspring of David. Now read scripture…I will bring up out of you, O David, “I will raise up a son that will come forth from your body. I will be his father and he shall be my son”. He shall say, “I and my Father are one”. He’s coming out of David; therefore, he’s David’s son. And David is the son of that which created the whole vast universe. Yet he who created the whole vast universe brings out of the universe that which is himself that was buried within the universe. So here, the grandfather and the grandson are one and the same being…coming out of that which God created which is the universe. Humanity is David, and he draws out of humanity that which is himself. The grandfather and the grandson are one and the same being. So go and say, “I am the root and the offspring of David.” But if you see David as the world sees David you will never see the mystery. I am telling you who he is: he is humanity reduced to a single being. And when you look at that wonderful boy and you see him, he is your son. But he brought forth you…for you buried yourself in humanity and played all the parts, every part. At the very end, you extricate yourself from your own creation and you redeem your creation. For your creation became condensed into one single being, standing before you as your son, and he’s the David of biblical fame.621 ¶6

Now he said, “I am from above; you are from below”. He’s speaking within himself. “Above” and “within” are one and the same; “below” and “without” are one and the same. “He who comes from above is above all; he who is from below expresses that which is of the earth earthy”. Here we find in the Book of John that the outstanding, in fact, the one thing that they cannot take in this revelation is his revelation of the fatherhood of God. They have an entirely different concept of who the Father is. I tell you, you are the Father. Maybe you can’t even this night pay rent, maybe the cupboard is bare, maybe you are in debt…and you created the universe and you sustain the universe! The being that you’re going to discover that you really are is the Creator of the universe…and there is no other God!621 ¶7

There’s no room in the universe for two Gods: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God the Lord is one”. So when asked to name the greatest of all the commandments, he didn’t mention any of the ten; he mentioned the confession of faith of Israel: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God the Lord is one”. Now he gives a second commandment, which is not new. You’ll read it in Matthew… “Love thy neighbor as thy self” because it is yourself. The whole vast world is yourself pushed out. The day will come that you’ll discover that the whole thing is yourself pushed out, and only as you change your attitude towards what is pushed out can it change. It cannot change of itself. Only as I change within me my attitude towards you can you change towards me. It all begins that I love him. Why? Because he first loved me. Well, the “he” spoken of is the I AM of you. So you want someone to love you or to see you differently? You start by changing your attitude toward the aspect of yourself that is projected. The whole vast world is yourself projected. So you want something different to come from that projection? Well then, because I first loved him…then if it’s all in me, well, I change it within me, and then the whole vast world if I change it within me must conform to the changes within me.621 ¶8

So he comes to speak of the truth which is a different truth altogether: it is the knowledge of God.621 ¶9

So he said, “I am the truth.” Well, if there is an inmost center in us all wherein truth abides in fullness and here is one called Jesus Christ saying “I am the truth,” and that is the center in me, then where is he? The only one that can resurrect is Jesus Christ and he’s in me. He resurrects in me and breaks the shell, and then he comes out. As he comes out, I am set free, free as the wind, and I gradually discover who I really am.621 ¶10

Night after night I become more aware that I am the Creator of it all. So when someone dies in this world, where do you think they go, to the cemetery to impoverish the relative who put them there? In the world of Caesar that appears to be true. No, he goes within me; there is no place for him to go other than to return to me. Everyone in this world who dies returns to me, for I am the center. But you can say the same thing because there is only one center: they all come back within me.621 ¶11

This morning as I was waking I met a friend of mine who dropped suddenly at the age of sixty-four. He had just retired and had a lovely retirement fund all built up. He worked for Standard Oil of California and he was the head of the personnel department. He said to his wife on the day he died…they went shopping in the morning, they went off and did many things…and then he said to her, “Have you any time to give me, just for a moment?” She said, “Certainly,” so she came in and they sat at his desk and he had seventeen items to go over. He took them one by one and said, “Do you understand this?” and Muriel said, “Yes, I do, I think I do.” Now he told the second one, explained it in detail, went all the way down the list and she said to each one, “Yes, I think I understand.” Then he came to the last item. Now you’re sure you understand this one?” and she said, “Yes I’m quite sure I understand that.” She had no sooner said “I think I understand it” then he went right over and he was gone. Well, this morning he was with me…a delightful soul. I’ve known him for the last, well, I would say since 1947 I think I met him…no, the first year, ’46, when I first came out. I’ve seen him every year in my visits here and my visits to San Francisco. But this morning he came and told me what a delightful passage it was, it was so easy. It was just a normal, normal conversation with my friend Al. He was a Swede, Al Olstrom. And here, he told me of this perfectly lovely departure, but Al is the same Al. He would not listen to me here. No, he loved my company socially…to get together for a few drinks and a lovely Bar-B-Q. And when I entertained him in San Francisco I had no Bar-B-Q so I would take him to the club or to a restaurant. But every year we interchanged these visits, I would go to his home one year and he would come to my hotel next year…it was always on that level. He never came to my meetings after the first three or four. It didn’t interest hm. He liked to sit down on Sunday morning and play the old hymns and cry…just simply cry playing all the lovely old hymns, and that satisfied him. But to listen to this revelation no, it just didn’t make any sense at all to him. So I met the Al that I knew here and he hadn’t changed one iota. He’s the same Al…and he’s in me. Where else would I have met him this morning? I was coming back from the depth of my soul. Having told the story to those on higher levels of my being who could hear it with understanding, and coming through here is Al. Just long enough to greet him in this lovely manner. And strangely enough where do you think I found him? In a railroad station sitting at the counter having just a little snack, there he was. Just long enough to see him in the same manner in which I left him here.621 ¶12

That was all that he wanted of me, to join me in a little snack or a big snack, but simply a physical meal.621 ¶13

That was the Al that I knew and he’s the same Al, hasn’t changed at all. He denied the fatherhood of God as I experienced the fatherhood of God. He had his own fatherhood of God and he would sit down and cry his eyes out while he played his lovely old hymns—“Nearer My God to Thee” and God was away out in space…and all these things he played. When I told him of the only God, the God that is housed within us and only to the extent that we experience Jesus Christ do we understand Jesus Christ…oh, no…he had his own little Jesus Christ and no one’s going to rob him of that…same Al.621 ¶14

So I tell you, the denial of Jesus Christ was simply his revelation of the Fatherhood. They could not accept for one moment what he was telling them of the Father. So when he said, “I go unto my Father and your Father, to my God and your God…and I and my Father are one”; therefore, I and your Father are one, and therefore you and I are one, they could not believe that.621 ¶15

That was too much, so they rejected him. And those who call themselves Christians today still reject him because they have these little icons out in space, and worship some stupid little concept of the mind. They will not believe in the revelation coming from within them. I tell you, you are God and you are God the Father, the Father of humanity, the whole of humanity. It’s a play. This is the most wonderful theatrical play ever conceived, and God is playing all the parts. When he’s played all the parts, the same God that is now in you breathing, when he’s played them all in you, he breaks the shell. He breaks that Pilate, and then you the God are self-born and you come out. You return to yourself the being that you really are, for there is only God. There nothing but God.621 ¶16

So, everyone in the world is playing the eternal play, and that play is so beautifully told in scripture. When one thinks for a moment, the only scripture known when the revelation was made was the Old Testament. Every quotation in the New has to be from the Old for there was no New. Now he interprets the Old by telling you exactly what it meant.621 ¶17

I could give you passage after passage in the Book of John to show you what he’s talking about concerning the discovery of the Father. Starting off even with the very beginning…take the 18th verse of the first chapter, “No one has ever seen God; he who is in the bosom of the Father, God only begotten, he has made him known.”621 ¶18

I am quoting now from the oldest manuscripts, the three oldest manuscripts quote it in that manner. In the 4th Century the word “son” was substituted for the word “God,” which I will not quarrel with at all, so it now reads “the son, the only begotten Son.” It read originally, “God only begotten”—he’s begetting himself. Yet I can’t deny that when you do see that out of which he comes that the sum total of all humanity, the whole world of men and women, fused into a single whole becomes a single youth, and it is his Son. He calls you Father, and you know he is your son, and you know you are his father…you know it. So I do not blame the one in the 4th Century who changed the word from “God” to “Son” and rearranged the sentence from “God only begotten” to “the only begotten Son.” But that’s how it reads in the earliest manuscripts.621 ¶19

“No one has seen God; he who is in the bosom of the Father”—he tells you exactly now God is Father—“God only begotten, he has made him known.” Well, I’m telling you that my mission is to let you know who that Son is. You will not find it in any work that I know of save the Bible, but the Bible is something that is so strange that people do not even see it. Priests do not see it, rabbis do not see it, and ministers do not see it. But I am telling you what I know from my own experience: it is David who is that only begotten Son. There is no other Son.621 ¶20

The Bible tells it to you, but they do not see it because they rearrange scripture to suit the traditions of the churches. And you never hear any bold affirmation in scripture concerning “I am the traditions, I am the conventions”; but “I am the truth, I am the way, I am the life, I am the resurrection”, you hear these. These are the bold mighty I AM sayings, but never I am the conventions, I am the traditions. So we are hiding from ourselves if we keep alive the conventions. And it’s now part of the conventions to say that Jesus Christ is his Son. But our Bible has been changed over and over and over again by men who had no vision, who could not see it.621 ¶21

Now here is a vision that I’ll share with you tonight. My friend is not here, but she gave me the letter last lecture. She found herself in a casino. You see everything has within itself the capacity for symbolic significance. So she is now in a gambling casino and the owner is coming towards her with a stick to count off her winnings. Instead of counting off what you would in any casino, say, the little chips that you have, it is a long French loaf, sliced but still held together because it hadn’t gone right through. It’s been sliced right down, but not completely through the entire loaf. So it’s a long French loaf. So he comes with his stick and he simply touches…as he taps a slice she calls off “fifty dollars” and he repeats “fifty dollars.” She repeats it again and then she said “$100.” “$100”…everything she said he had to repeat and he was getting more and more purply and explosive and annoyed because she would call the number and he had to repeat what she said…and it was one more slice of the loaf. She enjoyed…there was some peculiar thrill in her bones that he was so annoyed with her and disliked her heartily, but she was just simply winning all the money. It came down to the end, the very last was the last end of the loaf and she wondered in her mind’s eye, “What number will I call now?” The number came to her, “$1,150” and he called it. That was the entire loaf. The whole thing bled…the loaf of bread bled. It oozed out like a rare piece of roast beef when it’s sliced and the whole loaf turned into blood, and yet it was bread.621 ¶22

And the number tone is seven, spiritual perfection…1,150. You’re told in scripture, the 6th chapter of John, speaking of the bread, “It is my body.” “Unless you eat my body and drink my blood you have no life in you, for the life is in the blood”. Well, here is the most perfect vision and she certainly has the perfect vision of the symbolism of scripture. She said, “I don’t understand it, Neville, but it was fun as I watched his face getting more and more purply as he was actually ticking off these slices as I called them by number. The very end I wondered, what number and I said, all right, one thousand, one hundred, fifty. I don’t understand it.” But it is perfect, perfect symbolism of scripture. Number seven…the perfect number spiritually. She had completed the loaf and the whole thing is now alive and oozing blood. That is the blood. She has accepted completely the body of Jesus Christ as her own wonderful human Imagination: that is the body of God! She has completely accepted it and she blames no one now. If anyone is to blame, it’s only herself and she knows it’s only herself. When you get to that point that you can’t blame another, you have to eat it all by yourself because you’ve accepted completely that your own wonderful Imagination is the cause of the phenomena of life, then you’ve eaten the loaf of bread. And then it turns into blood…the whole thing was oozing blood, the whole loaf became a bleeding piece of flesh: “Eat my body and drink my blood.”621 ¶23

I tell you, your letters of last Monday were thrilling beyond measure. One gentleman said, he found himself in a place like the Bowl and here someone received the baton, a long-haired maestro. Innately he knew that that same performance would take place again for those who did not witness it. So he drove up to the knoll where he knew it would once more be presented to the same long-haired maestro. While he was there…and it was, it was presented…a lady next to him said, “What is that in the sky?” He took binoculars and he looked up, wondering whether it was an airplane or what, and it was a multi-colored bird resembling a parrot because it could speak. The bird said to him, “Get out of here. We don’t want any part of you people!” and then it came down and whacked him on the face with its wings.621 ¶24

Now you will think that is an idle dream. It’s not an idle dream at all. That’s a wonderful adumbration of what will take place the next time, but this time it will not be the multi-colored parrot it will be the dove. They avoid man…I know that from experience…because man gives off on this level the most outrageous odor. And it was a woman in his vision; it was not a man who asked him to see what the object was in space. It is a woman when it comes to who will turn to you and say, “They avoid man…but he so loves you that he penetrated the ring of offense to demonstrate his love for you.” So it’s a marvelous foreshadowing of what is in store for him.621 ¶25

Another lady saw me dying. So many of you have been seeing me dead recently. May I tell you it’s healthy, it’s a very healthy state, very healthy. She was with the very one whose eyes are now incurrent witnesses. And here, as she looked and I was dying, no possibility of reviving me, and she knew that my friend with the incurrent eyes so loved me she didn’t want me to die. She, on the other hand, who is having the vision, didn’t want me to be touched by anyone and hold me back…because if you touch him you’re going to hold him back and then he will not be set free. Then I collapsed to the floor and then I was gone.621 ¶26

It’s a wonderful vision for her to have: “For unless I die, thou canst not live; but if I die I shall arise again and thou with me. Wouldest thou love one who had never died for thee, or ever die for one who had not died for thee? And if God dieth not for man and giveth not himself eternally for man, man could not exist.” So God dies. I am telling you I have awakened from the dream of life. I have been born from above and the only one who is born from above is God. And so God dies…it’s a perpetual dying…that all may live. So she saw it beautifully. I can’t congratulate her enough. Her vision was perfect in this that she shared with me.621 ¶27

I can’t give the whole evening to all the visions, but they were perfectly wonderful…what you gave to me last Monday…one after the other, and every one as lovely as the other.621 ¶28

So, I’m not here to flatter you; I’m here to tell you the truth as I have experienced it. Browning was right based on a vision, there is an inmost center in us all where truth abides in fullness. And to know…know what…the true knowledge of God. He’s not trying to break through from without but from within and to release this imprisoned splendor. It comes from within.621 ¶29

Listen to the story, believe it implicitly, and the crust will break and he will come out. And it’s an effulgence…you are radiant light. Whatever it touches it transforms into beauty, into perfection, for you are perfect. You can’t go any place where you are not perfect. For, when you inherit the kingdom, as we told you last Monday night, as told us in the 25th of Matthew, “Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” That kingdom is a body, the body is perfect, and it was from the foundation of the world. So you awaken into that body and wherever that body is heaven is…that’s the realm. You don’t inherit a realm; you inherit a body. So wherever that body is the whole vast world that is now reflecting it is perfect. You can’t come upon anything that is imperfect; and if it was before you got there, instantly, automatically, it is transformed into perfection because you are perfect.621 ¶30

That is what is in store for you.621 ¶31

“Come, blessed of my Father, enter into and inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” So when this body awakens, I can’t tell you the beauty, I can’t describe it to you.621 ¶32

As he said in that 5th chapter of John, “No one”—speaking now to the one below—“No one has heard his voice, no one has ever seen his form, but I know thee, O Lord”. He is telling those around about him, “You have not heard the voice, you have not seen his form, but I know thee, O Lord. The world has not known thee, O Father, but I know thee.” And now he turns to a few, a remnant…he’s speaking now to his disciples…he said, “And they know that thou hast sent me.” He has found a few who really believe his story and they will spread it and they’ll keep on spreading it. They will hear it first by hearsay; eventually they will know it from experience.621 ¶33

So this is the truth of which he spoke: it’s the true knowledge of God. Anyone who talks about any God outside of you, turn your ears away, turn your attention away from him. There is no external God. You see this fabulous external world, but there is no external God. He who supports the whole thing is within you and it was he who created it. It’s almost, well, the world calls it blasphemy to say this. Let them call it by any name that they wish. I tell you that it is true. The day will come you’ll crack the shell and he who is now the imprisoned splendor within you will come out and memory will return and you will know all that you knew before that the world was. By coming down into this world and taking on the limitations of the flesh, you will now expand yourself beyond what it was prior to the coming down into the world.621 ¶34

He said, “No one takes my life from me, I lay it down myself. I have the power to lay it down and the power to take it up again”. So he came down of his own accord because there is no one else.621 ¶35

And he came down as us, because it takes all of us to form the One. We are the Elohim! The name is a plural name, Elohim is plural. It first appears in the Bible in the very first verse, “In the beginning God”…that’s Elohim. And the Elohim said, “Let us make man in our image”…that’s Elohim. Then “The Lord took his place in the divine council”—that word translated “Lord” is Elohim. And he said to us, “I say ye are gods, sons of the Most High”. That word “gods” is Elohim. So it takes all of us, it takes humanity together to form the one God that created the whole vast universe and sustains it.621 ¶36

So he’s not speaking of anything on the outside. Let man on the outside find new planets, new ways to get to them, new energies in the world, new everything, and we’re all for it. Why not enjoy the world while we’re in it, so I’m all for it. But that is not the truth of which the scripture speaks. He speaks of the true knowledge of God; that’s all the truth that he’s talking about.621 ¶37

You’ll find in scripture that no effort is made to change society. He doesn’t change anything in the world: he says, “Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s”. He doesn’t try to make the one who is in prison as a slave a free person…leave him just as he is.621 ¶38

And today all of our energies are going into changing everything in the world. I received a notice here recently, as I think I told you, from Health, Education and Welfare. Well, I thought it was only concerning my health. And instead of carrying my Blue Cross, as I have for years for my family, well, if the government will take it over…because I’ve paid in all this money since I began to pay, which was the very first month it came into being back in 1936 I think it was when I became eligible to pay my Social Security. So I went down today and she’s asking me all kinds of questions that were not related to my health…all related to my retirement fund. Well, I said that I’m not retiring and I came here because this was all about what I thought was health insurance…if I had to go to the hospital or to get a doctor. She said, “That’s part of it here too.” She didn’t ask me any of these questions; she’s asking me all kinds of things about my insurance. The she said to me, “You don’t have to answer any other questions because we have it all anyway.” She only confirmed my suspicion that we’re all numbers. We’re all computerized. She has all the material in the world and she need not have asked me one question. Not one question. I gave her my passport, my only identity. I don’t have a driver’s license because I don’t drive…I have no car. Well, “What proof do you have that you really are sixty-five this coming February?” I said, “My passport, and here it is.” “Well, that is not the proof. Do you have a birth certificate?” I said, “They didn’t have them where I was born…not in the year I was born…that was too expensive. Why have birth certificates? But I was baptized and somewhere I know I had the certificate, but I can’t find it now.” She said, “Try and find it for me or write for it, because we must have some proof that you really are going to be sixty-five this coming February.” But do you know, all these things were already known. I didn’t have to go there at all. They knew exactly what I paid in taxes, what I declared, what I didn’t declare, everything they know about me.621 ¶39

So no one is really doing anything but what the government has the whole little thing all right before him. But you are not that. You created the whole vast world so don’t let anyone scare you. If you go down…this was a very sweet lady, a delightful lady, and she could not have been kinder, could not have been sweeter. You would have thought she was my sister, she was so kind. Nevertheless, they know everything about you. But if you don’t find one as I found one, don’t let them scare you. Because in you, as in the one who is going to question you, is the only God, there is no other God. The God that created the whole vast universe is within you.621 ¶40

And you can prove it on this level even though the body has not yet been broken… where the birth has taken place. You can prove it by simply imagining certain states. And do not raise one finger to make it so. Believe it to be so, go about your business as though it were true, and may I tell you it will happen, because that is the way everything came into being as you brought it into being. While you’re here you have forgotten, but I am trying to remind you of the way that you brought it into being. You brought it into being by imagining and now you can simply bring things into your world by imagining. There isn’t a thing in this world that wasn’t first imagined.621 ¶41

So you imagine what it would be like if you were the man, the woman, that you would like to be; and then you sustain that imaginal act as though it were true. No power in the world can stop it from becoming true, because there is no other power.621 ¶42

If you believe it, there is no other power in the world that can stop it. Now try it, beginning tonight. Take a glorious concept…nothing less than the best, the very best, and simply imagine it to be true about you and those that you love. Start with your immediate circle. And although at the moment our circle may deny it by reason of what they’re doing, you persist. You persist in that assumption as though it were true, and may I tell you it will harden into fact because there is no other creative power. Name it by any other name, there is no other creative power.621 ¶43

Grant all of your brothers who are still asleep to pursue God in some other direction. They’ll never find him in any other way than by experiencing the story of Jesus Christ. They will not find him in all the laboratories in the world. They can take the little pieces apart and find out how they are put together, but they’ll not find the Father. The Father is the one who is looking, the one who is seeking. And they’re looking for something on the outside and the Father is within them.621 ¶44

He will never reveal himself save through David. You’ll never find the Father save through David. Do you wonder why the Jewish faith denied the story when no one said he was the Father of David? And it’s been done so long now for 2,000 years and no priest dares say it because they have been brain-washed into believing that it’s not. They think God is another, and Jesus Christ is something less, and he is the son. They don’t know that Jesus Christ is God the Father. It is a pattern…it’s the pattern in man, buried in man, and it erupts in man, awakens in man. When it awakens in man he is a father, therefore, who is the son?—David.621 ¶45

Now go back to the end of the Bible, the 22nd chapter of Revelation and Jesus is speaking, “I am the root and the offspring of David”. The root is the origin that is the Father; the offspring is the child. But if I am both—I am the root and the offspring—they are one being. Therefore, what is David now? He didn’t say that he was David. He said, “I am the root and the offspring of David.” Well now, he used David. So if the root and the offspring are one and the same, then who is David? He tells you the “offspring” of David so David is a father. But the root is the Father of David, and he is the root, so he is the Father of David. Yet, the Father of David is one with the son of David…so here, the grandfather and the grandson are one being. Therefore, who is David? Well, David is his son. He is one with his grandson. The Son is David which is humanity altogether fused into one being and personified as a single youth, the eternal youth.621 ¶46

Well, that is what I have come to give to the world. I have never read it in a book, I have never heard it from the lips of any other person, but I have experienced it. And so I tell you what I know from experience; I am not theorizing. The whole vast world could rise in opposition it would make no difference to me. I would say to them, as Peter and John said to the Sanhedrin on the day when they told them not to speak any more in the name of Jesus and they answered, “If it be right in the eyes of God to listen to you rather than to God you be the judge, but we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard”. So I cannot but speak of what I have experienced, and I have experienced being the Father of David.621 ¶47

And in searching through the only scripture, which is the Old Testament, I have found confirmation there: “I have found David and he has cried unto me, ‘Thou art my Father!’” And, “Thou art my son, today I have begotten thee.” So I found it all in scripture, and I did not know it until it happened to me on that 6th day of December back in 1959. So I’m telling you this and I know that here in this audience there are those who believe me. They say, “O righteous Father, the world has not known thee, but I have known thee; and these believe that thou has sent me.” Now let us go into the Silence.621 ¶48

Thou Art Our Father, Our Potter

In the 64th chapter of the Book of Isaiah we read, “O Lord, thou art our Father; we are the clay. Thou art our potter; we are all the work of thy hand”. Well, when you read it you might think, “All right, O Lord” and you think of another. Then you say, “Thou art our Father”…that’s the same other. We are but clay and thou art our potter. Well, it’s identified with the Lord and with the Father, so you think also of another, and we’re all the work of thy hand. The word “potter” by definition simply means “Imagination.” The word “Lord” is Yod He Vau He, which is defined for us as I AM. You mean that my own wonderful I-am-ness is the Lord, is my Father, and is my potter? That I am actually shaping myself and shaping my world? Yes, that is exactly what it means, that the Father is the Lord and the Lord is the potter shaping my entire world. But I am the shaper shaping it into a form, molding it into a form. Now, can I prove it? Am I really all Imagination as everyone who has experienced it knows? That “Man is all Imagination and God is man, and exists in us and we in him… that the eternal body of man is the Imagination, and that really is God himself”.618 ¶1

Now let me share with you a story I read two weeks ago in the New York Times, the magazine section. It was written by one who was imprisoned on the island of Amorgos in the Aegean Sea. He was a Greek imprisoned by the present regime that has taken over Greece, the generals. He was under house arrest and he was watched twenty-four hours a day. He was allowed to leave the house for a restaurant and by doctor’s orders to go for a certain walk after he had signed in at 6 PM with the police. Every morning at nine he had to sign in at the police and at 6 PM to return and sign in. Then he could go for a walk. These are his words, he said, “I began to imagine the scene in the village of horror the day after I escaped.” Then he imagined, “the elderly would be drinking coffee at nine in the morning, and then the cobbler would have opened up his doors for business, and then the scent of fresh bread would come straining through the windows of the bakery. By 9:30, because I had not registered, they would inquire of the one who had always sat in the public square dressed as a civilian looking at my apartment, and he would tell them that he had not seen me…I had not come upon my balcony. By 10:00 they would come to investigate themselves and then they would knock down the door. Then by 10:30 it would be, well, the news would scattered abroad and all would know that I was not there. Throughout the day the villagers would pass in their silent way, secretly but in a knowing way look one to the other that he isn’t here. That night they would gather in secret around their little shortwave radios listening for news from abroad of my escape. And so, I began to imagine that scene. The scene that gave me the greatest happiness was the scene when they all would know that I had escaped.”618 ¶2

Well, it came to pass, and he wrote his letter. His name is George Mylonos. It was on the 26th day of October, this last month that that letter appeared in the New York Times magazine, the Sunday issue. It all began in his Imagination. He was there for 409 days. At first it was only a dream, only a daydream. Then in the end he began to really do something about it. Now he told a story—which I will question because he wants to save the other prisoners on the other islands, also on the mainland—concerning exactly how he did it. Oh yes, there were physical means, but the means came into being as a result of his imaginal activity. To attempt to change circumstances before you change your imaginal activity is to struggle against the very nature of things.618 ¶3

For this world in which we live is a world of Imagination. You are all Imagination and God, your reality, is all Imagination. Divine Imagination has reproduced himself in the human Imagination; therefore, all things exist in the human Imagination for all things exist in Divine Imagination. Is it really true? Well, test it! He did. I wonder how many people who read it only two weeks ago would relate his escape to his imaginal act? They would read the letter, but what percentage of them would read the letter anyway? Because the New York Times weighs pounds…it’s about that thick…and so you would spend the whole day and not cover it, depending upon your interest. Well, how many would even see it? But here, this simple letter occupying not more than a page—it’s on three pages, but only one column to a page, so put together it would only take up one page. How many would read it? And of those who read it, what percentage would relate his imaginal act to his escape? And that’s exactly how he escaped.618 ¶4

Now you don’t have to be a prisoner on Amorgos. You could be a prisoner financially or socially. You could be a prisoner in a thousand ways, physically in health. Now, will you do the same thing that he did and imagine the scene that would take place the day after your escape. The day after it is heard that you do not have what you thought you had and others heard that you had; the day after you are not financially embarrassed and that you have all that it takes to live graciously. The day after…and you just mention anything in this world. Always go to the end; the end is where we begin. In my end is my beginning.618 ¶5

So I go to the end…the day after my escape. Then I imagine the scene that would take place. He thought, “Well now, the elders would be having coffee at nine, the cobbler would be opening up his doors at nine. Then the odor of the bread, the fresh-baked bread would be coming through the windows of the bakery. By 9:30 they would notice I had not signed in. By ten o’clock the police would call to ask that plainclothes man who always sat in the square looking up at my apartment, and he would say “I didn’t see him and he did not come on his balcony today.” By ten they would investigate and getting no response they would break down the door. Then the villagers would know it…and that was my greatest thrill!”618 ¶6

That’s where he started, letting the villagers know it in his mind’s eye. This is all in his Imagination. Now, you have friends…or if you don’t have friends, which would be a horrible thing if you didn’t…but you do have friends, and your friends know your present position in this world, the conditions that surround you. Maybe they’re pleasant and you’d like to perpetuate them. But maybe they are not pleasant, maybe they are not exactly as you would like them to be. You start with letting your friends know—not verbally, not outwardly—all in your Imagination. You see them seeing you as they would have to see you if things were as you desire them to be. You start there, the day after they know that things are just as you want them to be and then you let them see it. In your mind’s eye they are seeing it and you start there. Then ways will open that you do not devise. No one knows how it’s going to happen, but in a way that no one knows it will unfold and you will fulfill it. You’ll walk across a series of events, some bridge of incidents that you did not consciously devise which will take you from where you are in prison to your freedom whatever that end is…whether it be health, wealth, or in his case, an actual physical escape from a life imprisonment.618 ¶7

Because, as long as the present regime reigns in Greece these political prisoners would be under house arrest. So here, you can verify it. I read it and I now share it with you. It’s the 26th day of October in the Magazine section of the N. Y. Times. I think, if my memory serves me correctly, it begins on the 16th page. So it’s not long. It’s a very thick magazine because all these issues especially now coming into the fall when all things are being sold for Christmas, and the magazine is now three times its size and the paper is three times its size. But I get it every week and it comes on Wednesday. And here, a man, a simple man, political prisoner of the current regime, wondered what it would be like if these things were true.618 ¶8

So I tell you, “Man is all Imagination and God is man, and exists in us and we in him. The eternal body of man is the Imagination, and that is God himself.” When this God awakes within man, that man in whom he awakes is clothed with everything said of God in the scripture. It is said of God that he is the light of the world; it is said of God that he is love; it is said of him that he is the power of the universe and the wisdom of the universe. May I tell you, when you awake (and you will) you’ll be clothed with power and wisdom and light and love. And those who have eyes that are open into the inner worlds, open into the eternal worlds of thought, into eternity, will see you clothed as God. There is only God in this world. So God is begetting himself: Divine Imagination is reproducing himself in human Imagination. And when he reproduces himself in the human Imagination, that being in whom he is reproduced awakens and he is clothed as God himself is clothed. When you see him, you’ll see him clothed in light, in love, in power, in wisdom.618 ¶9

Everything said of God in the Bible will be said of you by the one who sees you. But if the eye is not open, they do not see you and they only see the little garment that you wear with all the weaknesses of that garment, all the limitations of that garment.618 ¶10

You will wear it in a world that is limited not quite fully inheriting what you really are while you’re still tied to this. For your heavenly inheritance is not completely actualized, not fully realized by you while you’re still in the world of flesh and blood and tied to a garment of flesh and blood. But at night when you sleep and you are detached, you are in the world of eternity.618 ¶11

And those who have eyes will see you functioning in that world. You are fully conscious of what you are doing. But when you return you come back through a quick series of events, strange little things that pull you back to this waking surface of the mind. And then you continue to tell your story. Tell it over and over in the hope that all that hear it will believe it. But one day they will believe it, because one day they will all experience it. Everyone will experience it and not one in eternity will fail. Let no one tell you that anyone is going to fail. They can’t fail for the whole thing is reproduced in us.618 ¶12

There’s no abracadabra about it. You don’t earn it, it simply awakens within you in good time.618 ¶13

So here, he started by simply imagining what the villages would do. And can you put yourself into that place? Here, under house arrest because you’re for the king, the legitimate ruler of the island of the place of Greece. And then came the junta; the generals who had their own ambitions, their own desires, and so they ousted the king, sent him off to Italy, him and his family. Then they took over and imprisoned all opposition.618 ¶14

They’re all intelligent, brilliant minds, and they were all under house arrest as they are today. If they only would see the secret of the story, not the means by which he escaped. Because God is infinite in his creative power and he doesn’t have to duplicate the means: “I have ways and means ye know not of; my ways are past finding out”. So don’t try to duplicate the means; the means are not your concern. But the technique is our concern, so listen only to his technique. Because what he said happened I question…because he is saving others who are going to read his letter and they are all tuned into the fact that he has escaped from the island of Amorgos. He is now in Europe, a free man, who undoubtedly will be given asylum in this country and tell his story to the world maybe in a book form. But forget the story of the means…that does not interest us. Give me principle!618 ¶15

What did he do? The means follows the principle, and what he did, he simply imagined a scene which would imply the fulfillment of his dream. I create a scene in my mind’s eye, but the scene must imply the end, not the means. “So I see faces and they’re all my friends and they’re all gathered around the little shortwave radios, and they do it in secret because these are outlawed. They must not listen to outside areas, only what they pump into their controlled press and controlled radio, but not the shortwave that would bring in the outside world to tell me what happened. So they’re all gathered together quietly, secretly, and they’re listening and here comes the news from France, from Italy, from America, saying that George so-and-so has escaped the island of Amorgos. That’s all that he wants. And the thing that thrilled him the most was when that news came through. Not the elderly people drinking coffee…that happens every day; not the odor that comes from the bakery, that happens every day; not the cobbler opening up his shop at nine in the morning, that happens every day. But this: “they all know that I have escaped…that doesn’t happen every day, for I have been there for 409 days.” But this day is different and that gave him the thrill of his life!618 ¶16

So I tell you, start now…don’t delay it. Start now to create the scene which if true would imply the fulfillment of your dream. And there is no power in the world that can stop it! Because our Lord is Father, and our Father is our potter, and we are all the clay in his hand. So, “‘Arise, and go down to the potter’s house’ said the Lord to the prophet Jeremiah ‘and there I will let you hear my words.’ So I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was working at his wheel. And the thing in his hand he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hand. But he didn’t discard it, he reworked it into another vessel as it seemed good to the potter to do”.618 ¶17

So someone comes into our world and you don’t turn your back because you can’t spend the time. They’re down and out, they’re up against it, they’re unwell, they’re physically limited or they’re financially limited, call it by any name. You don’t discard them. It’s in your hand, your Imagination. You take that same vessel and you rework it into another vessel as it seems good to you to do. That’s all that you do. You reshape the individual in your mind’s eye. He’s unemployed and yet he does need a job. He has obligations to life, he has a family to support, he has rent to pay, food to buy, all these things, and these are musts. Well then, in your mind’s eye you rework him into a man that is gainfully employed and he was never happier in his life, never. And you see this in your mind’s eye…that’s all that you do.618 ¶18

Now, the means that will be employed to bring him into that state where he is gainfully employed is not your concern. Your only concern is to be the perfect potter. So when it came into your world it was spoiled. That thing is a spoiled vessel and I don’t like it. All right, so you don’t like it. Don’t discard it! Rework the vessel into another vessel as it seems good to you to do. Read that in the 18th chapter, 2nd through 4th verses of Jeremiah. So I was told, “Arise and go down to the potter’s house and there I will let you hear my words.” So I went down to the potter’s house and there he was working at his wheel. But the vessel in his hand he was making of clay was spoiled, so he reworked it into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to do.”618 ¶19

And when you know that the potter is your own wonderful human Imagination…so you encounter someone and they casually say, “Oh, I wish things were better”…it need not be for themselves. It could be for someone that they love. Like tonight someone asked me concerning someone they love dearly. It need not be what you call a blood relationship. But, in the end, may I tell you, we are all related, we’re all intermingled, we’re all really one. We’re not really as separate as you or the world thinks that we are. I couldn’t see you this very moment if you did not penetrate my brain. So, really, literally you are within me, even though at the same time you exist seemingly independent of my perception in the surrounding world. But I can’t deny that you do literally exist within me.618 ¶20

Now if you should change on the outside and I become aware of the change, the corresponding change would take place within me relative to you. If you change in any form whatsoever, either socially, intellectually, financially or even in appearance, if I encounter this change then that penetrates me and I will rectify, modify the image of you that I held to conform to what I now see, what I now hear. But now, must I wait for that thing to change on the outside to produce in me a corresponding change? Or can I produce in me the change and then produce outwardly a corresponding change? If the change is made on the outside and that change penetrates my brain and compels me to modify my image of it to conform to what I’m seeing or hearing, well then, need I wait for that to take place first on the outside before I produce the change on the inside?618 ¶21

No, not if I know who the potter is. The potter is my own wonderful human Imagination who is making everything take place in this world. “O Lord, thou art our Father; we are the clay, and thou art our potter; we are the work of thy hand”. And, the potter, the Lord, and the Father are the same being, and it is my own wonderful Imagination. When I say “I am,” that is God the Father, that is the Lord and that is the potter. If I know that and believe it and trust it, well then, I don’t have to wait for things to change on the outside. If I desire changes, I can, because they do penetrate me now, they exist in me. Because, having reproduced himself in me all things now exist in my Imagination. So I don’t have to wait for changes on the outside if I desire changes. I can produce them on the inside, and then compel the outside to conform to the changes that took place within me as I the potter brought them to pass.618 ¶22

Well, the only way to prove it is to try it. And we try it by simply imagining what the scene would be after the thing is done. No means…don’t consider means…do not consider anything concerning how it’s going to happen. You go to the “end.” The end is where I begin. The most creative thing in man is to imagine a thing into existence. As we are told in the Book of Hebrews, “The things that are seen were made out of things that do not appear.” You will read that in the 3rd verse of the 11th chapter of Hebrews. All of the things that you see were made out of things that are not seen and they do not appear. No one can see what you are doing when you sit in the Silence. So, you do it in the Silence and they’re unseen by the outer world. But you do it and remain faithful to what you have done, because without faith in what you have done it will not appear in the world. “Without faith it is impossible to please him,” because it is through Imagination and faith that man creates and sustains his world.618 ¶23

So I tell you, all that I’ve told you is based upon experience. I am not theorizing, I am not speculating…all these I have put to the test. And having awakened from the dream of life, I have told you that I have experienced all the things concerning the one spoken of in scripture as the Lord Jesus Christ. When he said, “I am the light of the world,” I know from my own experience I am the light of the world.618 ¶24

A friend of mine gave me a letter last Monday night, she said, “I was with my friend Sharon”—they’re both here tonight—and she said, “I saw you sitting on the outside of the stage in a blue suit, and you were so thin, so pale, so weak, and the blue suit seemed as weak and worn as you. Sharon and I knew you needed some kind of strength, and so we got you a chocolate pudding and then we got you a chocolate ice cream, and then a chocolate bar to give you some substance, some energy to go onto the platform. So we led you to the platform. You suddenly disappeared and re-appeared as nothing but light, only your head was there. You were a giant of a man, towering over all, and the stage seemed to be enormous. There was no light but you, and only your head which shown like the sun. The light was so intense that it woke me. And may I tell you” she said as an afterthought, “what Sharon and I bought you, the ice cream, the chocolate bar, and the chocolate pudding cost twenty-eight cents.”618 ¶25

So I owe you twenty-eight cents. They gave me twenty-eight cents worth of food to get me onto the stage, and then suddenly that little garment disappeared and I became the light that filled all. I’m telling you, I know it. See, her eyes were given to her by the one to whom I gave my eyes, and so she too can see the truth of what I’m talking about. For Sharon gave her the eyes I gave Sharon. Yet in the giving you do not lose the gift; you retain the gift, and the gift becomes stronger and stronger by reason of the fact that you gave it. Every gift that you give spiritually you retain and it increases in its power, in its wisdom, in it is everything that is that gift. So she saw what only a few weeks before Sharon saw, the prince of light. But no one who has not the incurrent eyes to be an eye-witness could see it. I am telling you the truth. I have experienced it and I live in that world.618 ¶26

And the day this little thing drops, which she saw as a little thing clothed in a dark blue suit, frail, fragile, and could hardly make the stage until she could give it some substance based upon this world. For the body that it wore was of this world and chocolate would be a quick producing energy in this world. But as I stepped upon the stage the whole thing enlarged, and suddenly it disappeared and I was nothing but light. All she could see towering above her was a giant and the head was my head. It was all that she could see. The whole thing was radiant light and the head began to be as intense in light as the sun, and then it was so intense she woke. Then she wrote me the letter.618 ¶27

So I must now give her twenty-eight cents…repay my debt like Socrates. He owed a rooster, owed a cock, and he asked that please before he dies after he’s taken the hemlock, please give the cock for he must not be left owing anyone in this world.618 ¶28

But here, may I tell you, you are all Imagination and you are not a prisoner save you are a prisoner by yourself, because you brought it all to pass and you can change it if you know who you are.618 ¶29

So when you read the words “O Lord,” don’t think of something on the outside. The word “O Lord” is Yod He Vau He, which means by translation “I AM.” “Go to the people of Israel and say unto them I AM has sent you”. That is the word “Lord” as translated in scripture. Now, “O Lord, thou art our Father,” so the Father is the same as I AM. “Thou art our potter” is the same as I AM. And he molds everything in the world, so to him and to him alone is all responsibility for what is done in your world. But he’s not other than yourself…so it’s your own wonderful human Imagination that is the cause of the restriction or the freedom that you are enjoying in this world. There is no other cause but the Lord who is the Father who is the potter. And if he’s your own wonderful human Imagination to whom will you turn to blame for anything that is happening in your world?618 ¶30

So the blind leaders are leading the blind, blaming society, blaming the government, blaming one party, blaming this or that, and they’re all so blind. They are, well ninety-nine and ninety-nine percent. If you could measure beyond that, that’s how many are blind, blaming everything outside of themselves for the causes of the phenomena of their lives. There is no one outside of yourself! The whole vast world is yourself pushed out, for there is not a thing in the world that does not now exist in you because divine imagining has reproduced himself in you. Divine imagining is the Lord God Almighty, who contains all things within himself, and he’s reproduced in you, therefore all things are contained within you.618 ¶31

So do not turn to the left or the right for the cause of misfortunes in your world…it’s all within you. Everything is now penetrating your brain if you are going to perceive it; therefore, it actually exists in you and yet, seemingly, it exists independent of your perception of it in the surrounding world. But don’t wait for it to change to produce the change corresponding to that change in you. You produce the change in yourself if you desire a change and then ask no one to help you. Just simply produce that change in you and then let that change reproduce itself in the outside world, for it’s only an out-picturing of the world within you.618 ¶32

You try it…and change your world as this prisoner from the isle of Amorgos did it. It was a most exciting story. I could hardly wait to share it with my wife Bill, and then my friend who drives me. I couldn’t wait to give him the paper the following lecture night and have him read it. But as you read it, I wonder to what extent those who bought the paper read it and then those who read it saw what was there to be seen, for the cue was all based upon the day after his escape. And what thrilled him most in his Imagination was when the villagers knew it. Well, if they knew it then it’s a fact. Not the other things…they take place day after day…they took place every day for 409 days. But they didn’t know as they drank their coffee for 409 days and could smell the bread coming from the bakery, and the cobbler’s shop is open that the prisoner had escaped. But when they knew he had escaped, that’s what thrilled him most of all. He’s trying to tell those who are in prison, who will hear the story, the cue is in the entire story…for the cue is the day after. It’s in my end where I begin; I always go to the end and that’s where I start. What would it be like if it were true? What would you tell me if it were true? What would I see if it were true?618 ¶33

Before I came out tonight I got a telephone call from my friend Natalie and she’s flying tonight. She hardly misses a meeting here…not in years has she missed it…but I’m so thrilled tonight that she isn’t here, for this is the answer to a prayer. She met someone that she loves and they’re flying off tonight to Mexico to be married tomorrow. So she said, “I cannot see you tonight or Monday, but I will see you a week from now.” I hope not! I hope she goes off to a nice long, wonderful honeymoon. She doesn’t have to rush back here. She has accomplished what she wants, to be married. And I do hope it’s a blissful union, I hope so, because she’s certainly altogether lovely. That’s what she wanted. She loved the man that she met and that is it, so they’re flying off tonight, wedding tomorrow, so she can’t be here tonight.618 ¶34

So she, too, lived in the end. But it took an awful lot of jacking up, may I tell you. She’d always forget the end and come back to the moment where it isn’t. Night after night I would remind her, because I have been going along the Promise…more and more on the Promise rather than the law. Every once and awhile I felt impelled to talk about the law because people were forgetting that we are still in the world of Caesar and the law is important! As you’re told in the Book of Psalms, “I delight and rejoice in thy law day and night. It is my constant meditation, thy law. And those who rejoice in the law, in all that they do they prosper” as we are told in the very first Psalm. Rejoice in the law! Don’t forget you’re living in the world of Caesar. Although to me the Promise is the one grand objective and the true reality of all being, we are still here and rent must be paid, clothes bought, food bought, and multiple things must be bought with the coin of Caesar. And so she would forget and every time I would jack her up from the platform. She was very sweet about it and she would always say thank you, then the next day she would go back. But by tomorrow it will be consummated. I hope she’s so busy she hasn’t time to send us a card.618 ¶35

So here, may I tell you, this thing cannot fail you. It will not fail you! But we are the operant power; it doesn’t operate itself.618 ¶36

So when I know what I want, don’t turn to any outside God. He is not on the outside. In fact, he isn’t even near, for nearness implies separation. He is my I AM and where could I go where I am not aware that I am? I’ve seen this body detached from myself and I could point to a body, but I could never see myself detached from myself. I know from experience that I am not this garment that I wear, for I have seen it on the bed when I am not in it. But I can never be anywhere where I am not aware that I am…so that “I am” is the Lord. And I could never be so far away as even to be near, because nearness implies separation and I can’t be separated from the Lord.618 ¶37

“O Lord, thou art our Father; we are the clay”…this is the clay…but, “thou art our potter; we are the work of thy hand.”618 ¶38

So when I entered death’s door I found a garment. But who entered death’s door?—man. “When weary man enters the cave he meets his Savior in the grave. Some find a female garment and some a male woven with care”. So I find a male garment, others find a female. But I the finder am man, not male; I the finder am man, not female. Man that finds it is one with God. He and the Savior are one, he and the Lord are one, he and God are one, and he and the potter are one. But we find garments when we enter the cave and the cave is the human skull, and we find a garment woven with care, woven by the female. “But alas, one is slain and one is fled.” The garment has to be slain, but the immortal man who occupied it as it walked from the cradle to the grave is immortal and cannot be slain. But he still walks asleep. The day must come when he will awake, and when he awakes he knows who he is: he is the Lord God Jehovah, the being spoken of in scripture. He is the Lord Jesus Christ. Now let us go into the Silence.618 ¶39

* * * Are there any questions, please?618 ¶40

Q and A

If you say everything is within you, well, what about the people who wouldn’t accept this type of teaching that you are encountering?618 ¶41

Speaker

Well, my dear, it really doesn’t matter, ninety-nine percent of the people of the world would not accept it. Read the morning’s paper, everything is happening on the outside and they’re not the cause of it. Everything is happening by others. The government will notify you that you’re a little number. For instance, I’ll be sixty-five in February. Today, unsolicited came a letter from HEW. You know, they call it HEW, notifying me that I will be sixty-five in February and therefore go to a certain place in this city and notify them of my…take the letter down…that I’m now eligible for…what do you call it…Medicare. So I didn’t even know that they knew I existed. And here I’m notified that they do know and they have me computerized. I’m a number. That’s all that I am to the government, I’m just a number. And so they knew in advance I would be sixty-five the 19th day of February next year, so they notify me now to go down to a certain place in this city with my letter that I got from them and then I would be on Medicare. Here we think that we are not numbers? We’re all numbers…that’s all that we are to them. But they’re not independent of us…we made it so. The whole vast world wants to depend upon something outside of itself. And so, it is we who brought it into being, brought the entire thing into being. And so, I am a number. Undoubtedly they have a dossier this high on me; all the things that I have said or my little throwaways that you get in the mail, they have those there too. Any claim that I make concerning that you can do it for yourself, they have that there too. Nevertheless, I tell you, you are all Imagination and Imagination is God. There’s nothing but God. The day will come that you will awaken from the dream of life—this whole thing is a dream—and it will fade leaving not a trace behind it. You brought it into being for a purpose and when that purpose is fulfilled, it will vanish, but not until all have awakened because not one must fail. My body would be incomplete if one was missing, so I will leave the ninety and nine and go in search of the one. I cannot be missing from the risen Lord’s body. For we are the one body, the one Spirit, the one Lord, the one God, the one Father, and you can’t have one that is missing. All will be redeemed…everyone will be redeemed. Good night.618 ¶42

Fundamental Revelation: Jesus Christ in Us

In all the revelations that await us, there is none so fundamental as the revelation of Jesus Christ in us. Nothing about Jesus Christ can be known outwardly. It is only the incurrent eyewitnesses who know him—those whose immortal eyes are opened inward into the world of thought, into eternity, who are dazzled seeing through the mask of the body some flashing of the light he said he was. When one begins to awake, the being who awakes is the Lord Jesus Christ. But no mortal eye can see him and the mortal mind knows him from the record—where he was born, his parents, his brothers, and his friends. They know all about him and the weaknesses and the limitations of that individual. They do not know the being who has awakened within him. So tonight, we will take the being who will one day awake within every child born of woman and try to show you who you really are. For Jesus Christ is the true identity of every child born of woman. He said, “I am the light of the world” , but he also said that you are the light of the world. This claim which is the most fantastic claim in the world was not claimed for one little individual; for Christ is the universal being that is the life of every child born of woman. So when one awakes, he claims it not only for himself, he claims it for every one in the world: you are the light of the world.615 ¶1

But mortal mind cannot understand it and they said to him, “Tell me, who are you?” He said, “Even what I have told you from the beginning”—the beginning of what, the year one A.D.?—no, before that the world was. Before that the world was you and I heard the story that you and I would descend into this world of death and experience death, and trust the story, the plan. For it was a collective plan that we would come out of it and return enhanced by reason of the experience of death. So, even what I have told you from the beginning…well, they didn’t understand that…because they knew him. Beginning of what, just a few years ago? That’s not what …because he’s not a physical being but one who actually experiences something entirely different from this world, and yet living in this world until the silver cord is snapped he cannot but tell it. When the silver cord is snapped, he returns, if he has had the experience, to the world that was his before that the world was…with all the glory that was promised by the experience of coming into this world.615 ¶2

So, who then is this being that I tell you that you really are, the being called Jesus Christ? We are told that we must be “born again” and then we are told, “We are born anew through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” . That’s how we are born. Our birth is conditioned upon the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And you might think that it was 2,000 years ago if you are thinking of it today. That’s not it at all. Here is another statement concerning the same mystery as we read it now in Revelation: “Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the true witness…the first born of the dead” .615 ¶3

Well, you’ll think in terms of time, wouldn’t you? If I now said concerning children, well, who is this one? He was the first born. And this one?—he is the second born. Well now, that is in time. But this hasn’t a thing to do with time. We must now regard this in the order of events rather than in time. We’re dealing with a mystery—“Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the first born of the dead.” There is only one Jesus Christ and he is buried in every child born of woman. If I am the beginning and the end, then I cannot be better at the beginning than I am at the end. I can be foremost, because of the first or the last. Here I am…I encompass the all. So if today at this moment you awaken and the whole story of Christ awakens within you, you are no better than one who will awaken tomorrow. And you do not precede him for this is not in time…they’re speaking of the order of events. Now listen to it carefully, “Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the first born of the dead.”615 ¶4

There are two events that take place simultaneously—you cannot be born from above unless you are first resurrected. So we are resurrected first and then we are born. As we are told, “We are born anew through the resurrection of Jesus Christ form the dead.” So, only as one is first awakened from the dream of life can he be born from above. So don’t think in terms that you are preceding the other and you are better than the other. It’s simply, this is an event not measured in time, but this is how the events take place: I am born from above through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.615 ¶5

Well, Jesus Christ is in me; not some being who 2,000 years ago rose from the dead and that was my salvation. No, in the fullness of time it began to erupt. What?—the Christ buried in all of us. This is now the age of the awakening. This is entirely the awakening. Everyone is going to awaken no matter what he has done in this world, for whatever he has done it was God who played the part. If he was the most horrible being in the world, he’s forgiven because he played a part. I don’t care what he did, it was simply a part and all things are moving towards the fulfillment of a predetermined end.615 ¶6

Now there are a series of events. The first event is resurrection. And as you are told in the 15th chapter of 1st Corinthians, I think it is the 51st verse, “We shall all be changed.” Changed in what sense? He said, “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye we shall all be changed; for the trumpet shall sound, and we shall rise from the dead, and all will be changed.”615 ¶7

At the end of what, at the end of a long, long journey? Yes…but individually. Not, say tonight, that the whole vast world will hear any trumpet. It is so unique. You are so completely unique you can’t be replaced. No one in eternity can take your place. When you are awakened and you are now brought back into this infinite being that you really are—sharing the whole body, for you are the whole body. You play a unique, distinct part, and no one can take your place. “We shall all”—not a few—“be changed in a moment, in the twinkle of an eye; for the trumpet will sound.” And when the trumpet sounds, then they shall awaken from the dead and all will be changed.615 ¶8

What is a trumpet? The word trumpet in scripture, you look it up, it simply means “a vibration.” But may I tell you, it is the most unusual vibration that you have ever felt. Why, I’ve heard numberless vibrations in the world as you have. You go to a concert and everything you hear is a vibration, all synchronized into a harmony. But they’re all vibrations, the piano, the violin, the cello, everything is a vibration. But this is a peculiar vibration. It is something that is centered in your head and you can’t arrest it, you can’t stop it, and it goes on until finally you awake. And you awake where?—in the sepulcher, in your skull, for the first time since you entered that state. How long you’ve started no one knows. They all speculate. I’ll go along with Blake, but I do not know from actual experience…no one from within me told me the numberless centuries that I slept. I only know that I awoke within that sepulcher and that it was a peculiar vibration.615 ¶9

And on the heels of the vibration came my birth from above just as it is symbolized in scripture. So it took only a moment. “In a moment, in the twinkle of an eye, the trumpet will sound.” As the trumpet sounds then they will awake. But it’s not a collective state, it’s the individual awakening. And as he awakens within, all right, so he awakens within…that’s the beginning of the series of events. So when we are told, he was the first born, don’t look upon it as a time; see it now as of the order of the events. So that this begins the series of events and then they continue for forty-two months. And then, you’re still tied to this body because the silver cord has not yet been snapped. You must tell it to encourage everyone in this world to continue…he has to anyway. But you tell it and tell it and tell it and everyone who is hearing it will be encouraged.615 ¶10

For not a thing in this world concerning the wisdom of man is really important; in the end it will all be proven nonsense. All that he thinks the world is made of isn’t so at all. They will get all their Nobel prizes and their wonderful prizes and all the money for it and the honors that go with it; and it isn’t so at all. You’re not going to find life in any test tube; you’re going to find it within yourself. The day is coming when you will see the entire world as something external to yourself, and then you will arrest within yourself an activity that you feel, and then the world will stand still. And you can do with it what you will…you can actually do with it as you will. You can change it and turn it, and make it come out as you want it. That is life in yourself and you’re not going to find it in any test tube.615 ¶11

So here, the story of Christ is not to be seen, not to be understood externally. Jesus cannot be known or proven. You cannot prove the existence of any Jesus Christ externally. Only the incurrent eyewitnesses know him, those whose immortal eyes are open inward into the world of thought, into eternity. And then they are startled, for they see the truth of what one who awoke from the dream actually claimed for himself: he claimed, “I am the light of the world” and that is the most fantastic claim in the world. But everything claimed in scripture you’re going to experience; you will know that you are the light of the world.615 ¶12

May I tell you from my own experience, you will have this experience, you will feel and actually see and know that you are the center of infinite light, pulsing living light. There is no circumference, none whatsoever. You are the center and there’s only light. Not a thing within it, no worlds, and no suns, no planets, but nothing. Just you and you are infinite light. You will know that from an actual experience.615 ¶13

When the eye is open in those that you told the story to, they will see you as light, and yet know you as the being that they knew and loved. They know you and yet they will see you as that being of light, the prince of light. Now, it is said of him, God is love. They will see you and know you as love, clothed in the form of love. It is said of him that he is power and he is wisdom, and they will see you clothed in the body of power, in the body of wisdom. Everything said of Jesus Christ in the scripture you are going to experience. And others will see you when the eye is opened inward into the world of thought. They will see you clothed in these garments of love, of power, of wisdom, of light.615 ¶14

And eventually all will return and only one being will be there…and yet all of us individualized. There is no absorption into this being, just union in the one being. All are completely individualized and each the being of love, the being of power, the being of wisdom, the being of light. All of this is ours and this is the Christ of the scripture.615 ¶15

So of all the great revelations that await us, there is none so fundamental as the revelation of the unveiling of Christ in us. So let the world do what it will. So they simply murder each other. But no one dies. So they murder, they steal, they do all the unlovely things of the world, but in the end, behind that mask that being that is buried there will awaken and he will come out. When he comes out, all is forgiven, because he did all the unlovely things, too. It isn’t one person today doing it; everyone who ever came out did it all, because he was the cause of it all.615 ¶16

In last Sunday’s New York Times magazine there is a story told by this being called Speer. He was Hitler’s right hand…many thought he would really succeed Hitler. He spoke of this man, he said, “I can’t describe it…the man had the capacity to make everyone obey his will. He seemed to have no center. He had a mind that so completely controlled by himself that we were like puppets in his world. That every one of us who stood before him, regardless of what we were—they could be intellectual giants or simple people—they were simply puppets in the presence of Hitler. But he seemed not to have a heart; he had no center. And in the end, he blamed his own people for failing. Having slaughtered millions, having burned millions, when they did not succeed, he said, ‘All right, the stronger power has succeeded and they will rule, and it serves my people right.”615 ¶17

The voice of hell is always self-justification. He had failed to completely control it up to the very end, but he did for years. Yet in the end he lost the control he thought he had forever, because all things are planned by God. God planned everything as it has come out and as it will be consummated. And so, he was used for a purpose…what you and I consider a horrible purpose. But as we are told in Genesis, you intended it for evil but God intended good…and raised me to the level of the Pharaoh to save civilization from starvation. But God knew he could use me and not you for his end, for his purpose. So you intended evil against me but God intended good and raised me to the level of the Pharaoh to save civilization from starvation.615 ¶18

So here, he was used. It doesn’t seem right judged by our normal moral standards in this world, but read the story of Job, the innocent man who was used. He did nothing that was wrong, and in the end he realized why. He is the story of every child born of woman; every one in the world is Job. In the end he will bring out what was buried within him, which is a plan, the plan of redemption. So he said, “I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees thee”.615 ¶19

So here, in the very end, after all that you’ve gone through, he who is buried within you, which is the reality of your own being, your true identity, will erupt just like a tree coming into blossom and bear its fruit. The first fruit is to awaken. And after that the very night, happens the same moment, in a moment, in the very twinkling of an eye, then comes the birth. Both come together, one after the other. But awakening comes first and then comes the birth. Then comes the discovery of the fatherhood of God and you are God the Father. Then comes your ascent back into the heavenly sphere, and you go back to where you were before you came down. For, “No one returns into heaven but he who first came down from heaven, even the Son of man” . So if you ever rise into heaven, it’s because you first came down. And you came down from heaven, that’s why you’re going to go back, but enhanced by the experience of this world of hell. For this is hell. This is the only hell you’ll ever know. This is the horror into which man, which is God, descended.615 ¶20

And then comes that glorious peaceful state when the whole thing is consummated and the seal of approval is placed upon your return. And then you’re redeemed. You leave this sphere, leaving it completely to your brothers, because they’re all brothers, and you’ll become one of the watchers from above. You will watch faithfully and lovingly, waiting for the return of everyone from this sphere. But no one is going to be lost, not one.615 ¶21

Listen to it carefully, “All shall be changed in a moment”…not one, all. “Lo, I tell you a mystery”—that’s how he begins the story—and the mystery is “All shall be changed.” In a moment; doesn’t take a long time. They go through as though not a thing is going to happen, and then one moment, in the twinkling of an eye, there’s a change. The change comes at that moment when you begin to awaken, and you’re fully awake, and then you’re born from above. Others with mortal eyes don’t see you; they see the sign of your birth. But they cannot see you, for you’re now born of God and you are God. He only brings back his son, expanded beyond what the son was prior to the descent into this world. So they see the child which is only a sign, the child is only a symbol of what took place. They do not see you, but you see them, and you read their thoughts, everything they think is objective and that’s what the one born of God sees. He sees everything that you’re thinking, everything that you’ve planned; everything is just as objective and more so than this room. So they see him not, but he sees them and all that they are plotting and planning.615 ¶22

The whole thing completely unfolds within us. So the story of Jesus Christ actually takes place in a series of events in the individual. Dwell upon it, take it to heart, as you’re told, and pray. Try to remember…for it’s only a matter of remembering. As you’re told in the last chapter of the Book of Ecclesiastes, “Remember your Creator”, try to remember what he told you before that the world was. And then he tells you of the breaking, the snapping of the silver cord, and the breaking of the golden bowl and the pitcher before the dust returns to the earth.615 ¶23

Then he calls upon us to dwell upon these words that are gathered together by one shepherd; and they are like pegs driven in, in a secure manner, like one man driving them into the lives of many. So one who has had the experience tells you his experiences, and they become many pegs driven into the minds of many. Beyond these, he warns us not to think of anything, for of the writing and the making of many books there is no end. Take these sayings, said he, the sayings of the shepherd; and one shepherd gathered them all together and they’re like pegs driven into the being. So when one person awakens, he finds many to whom he can speak, and then he becomes the one man driving these pegs into many, many minds, and asks them to dwell upon them.615 ¶24

You’re carried away tomorrow with news of today…what happened to the plane that flew from here to the east and then to Ireland and then to Cairo. And all that is exciting, but that’s not important. Some little insane boy did it or someone did it, and the motive behind it, what does it matter? I do not know and it should not interest us. What should interest us are the collected sayings of the wise given to us by one shepherd, and you’ll find them all in scripture. There they are. You dwell upon them and try to find out what it is all about.615 ¶25

Well, who are you? They said “Even what I have told you from the beginning.” I am the same being that spoke to you when we all gathered together in eternity before we came down; and you and I are one. You are sons of the Most High, all of you. But now we’re going to have an experience, we’re going to fall as one man and have the experience of dying like men, and fall as one man, O you princes. Every one is the prince, of what? Of light, of love, of power, of everything named in scripture concerning God…for you are that being. Then we simply return…that’s all.615 ¶26

May I tell you, you’ll all have the experience of which I speak. I hope it will be my pleasure to pass those eyes on. But I can’t do it from this level…do it from a higher level. It’s done with the consent of the watchers in eternity. All those who are already redeemed from this world decide, this one, give the eyes to this one. Then they will see the truth of what you say.615 ¶27

So when you make the statement, “I am the light of the world” , infinite living pulsing light, it seems stupid for a little man so weak, so limited, to make that claim; and yet the one to whom you give the eyes will see you as that prince of light, that prince of love, that prince of power and wisdom.615 ¶28

Yet you continue until the silver cord is snapped. When the silver cord is snapped and the golden bowl is broken and the pitcher is broken, all this, well then, you enter and return to those that you’ve always known. They are eagerly waiting for your return, return from the world of death.615 ¶29

So it is from death to life, from darkness to light, from bondage to freedom. So we came down voluntarily and assumed the limitations of the flesh, this bondage; came down into darkness and took upon ourselves the world of darkness, and forgot that we were the light of the world. We came down into death, and yet were eternally alive. Gave it all up and took this in confidence that we had the power and the wisdom to return. So everyone here will go back, go back regardless of what you’ve done or what you may still do or what you’re now planning to do. I can only tell you, everyone, yes, including Hitler, including Stalin, including every monster that ever lived on the face of the earth, and they were all used. They were so constituted that they could be used for a certain purpose.615 ¶30

No, you don’t love the individual who played the part, but beyond the mask…through that mask of the body, one day he will serve and you will see the same being that is described in scripture as the Lord Jesus Christ.615 ¶31

So the Lord Jesus Christ cannot really be proven, cannot be known by any outward means, no matter how you search it. You can search it from now to the ends of time to find where he was born, but you can’t find any birth place on earth. You can’t find any genealogy no matter what the priests will tell you. You can’t find anything concerning Jesus Christ outwardly. Only those who have their immortal eyes opened and turned, as they must be when they’re open, inward into the worlds of thought. They are the incurrent eyewitnesses and they know the truth of all the claims concerning Jesus Christ.615 ¶32

In the world a man will come or a woman will come and tell you that they have experienced the story of Jesus Christ. And then you either believe it or you don’t. For when it’s told like John telling the story, he said, “I’m a witness to what I have heard and seen, but I’ve actually seen with my own eyes, which I have handled with my own hands, concerning the word of life.” Now John is not some professor who gives to society a convincing set of arguments; he is simply telling what he actually heard outside of this region. He’s telling the world what he actually saw and heard that cannot be explained with the rational mind, and invites everyone who hears the story of redemption to believe it. But he leads the individual up to the point where he himself must decide whether he will accept it or reject it. It’s entirely up to the individual.615 ¶33

And so, the individual says no, it doesn’t make sense and rejects it, or he will believe it and completely accept it on faith. Now, the Christ that you accept on faith comes to you as one unknown, yet one who will in some mysterious manner let you experience who he is. You first must believe the story…it comes to you through a story, and it’s told as one unknown.615 ¶34

As Paul told us in his letter to the Galatians, he said, “Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? Are you so foolish, having received the Spirit by faith are you now ending with the flesh?”. Are you thinking of Jesus as a being of flesh and blood, when “flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven?”. So are you really thinking of it as a being who walked as a physical being? Didn’t you receive the Spirit by the hearing of the story and accepting it with faith? And that was the Spirit?615 ¶35

If you heard it in that manner and believed this incredible story, well then, go your way, and it will unfold within you. If you reject the story, you’re only delaying that moment in time when you will experience redemption. So the wise men of the world who think they are so wise by their rejection of it are simply delaying their wonderful redemption. When they now turn to dust, as they will, they will find themselves restored in an environment best suited for the work yet to be done in them to the point of acceptance of the incredible story.615 ¶36

Don’t think for one second that you drop here at the age of seventy with all the medals of the world conferred upon you, with the wisdom of the world, and you’ll continue in that state. No, God is merciful, and that may be a completely wrong direction to awaken one who is all-wise. Because all the things that man is discovering concerning the secret of life isn’t so at all. To tell you that you’ll come upon a scene just like this…and you don’t have to receive a Nobel Prize in physics or in chemistry to understand life…suddenly you look upon everything and it’s all active, moving in its own direction, each moving as it intended to move; and then you arrest it and stop all intentions, and everything is dead, completely dead, and you and you alone are alive. Everything about you stands perfectly still and you go over and you look at it…dead as dead can be. But everything is dead, everything is so still, and you’ve never known such stillness. If you saw a still day, a very still day, there’s still some little thing moving. Not this! Everything is as still as you would see it in a museum…as if you walked into a museum and saw only the dead stuffed animals. And then you release the activity in you and they all become alive once more. Then where was life? Life was in you.615 ¶37

And so “As the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself”. But only as he awakes does he have life in himself. And you will see it’s not in a test tube. It’s not where people think it is…where people are receiving fortunes for their so-called discoveries of the mystery of life. That life is an activity of Imagination: imagining is life. As you begin to imagine you are bringing things into being. The whole vast world is coming into being because we unwittingly are imagining what we are imagining.615 ¶38

Don’t tell me that you can write papers and magazines, radios and TV’s and all these things and not influence an unthinking, uncritical mind. They see all these things and entertain these thoughts, and then they execute the thought. Then behind the scene those who are making fortunes out of it hide behind it and say, oh, no, we didn’t influence at all. And there isn’t one thing you see in the world that wasn’t in some way influenced in that manner…unless one is completely isolated and then conjures the whole thing through hate within himself.615 ¶39

So I tell you, the whole vast world is the Imaginations of men pushed out into the world of effects. But behind it all a merciful God steps beyond and redeems us, awakens us, and brings us out in a series of events. The series begins with your resurrection and at the same moment your birth from above. So in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, all will rise because the trumpet, the vibration, will sound and the dead will rise and all shall be changed. Changed from these bodies of darkness into immortal bodies, imperishable bodies that are bodies of light, bodies of love, bodies of power, and bodies of wisdom.615 ¶40

I can’t describe it to anyone, not until you see it. Fortunately for me there was one to whom I gave my immortal eyes—yet still retained them—who saw it only recently. I’ve been waiting for someone to bear witness to it all. For one must witness the truth of what one, who has actually experienced it, claims that he has.615 ¶41

So I claimed that I have…fantastic claims: I am the light of the world, I am all that is said of Jesus Christ in the scripture, all that is said of God. Yet until the silver cord is snapped, I am as weak as any man that walks the face of the earth. I am as limited as anyone who walks the face of this earth, making all the mistakes while I’m tied to a body that is made for mistakes, it’s weak. But the moment when that thing is snapped I will return instantly to that which I have experienced unnumbered times, time and time again, a body of light, a body of wisdom, a body of power, and above all things, a body of love.615 ¶42

Now let us go into the Silence. * * *615 ¶43

Now are there any questions, please?615 ¶44

Any other questions, please? Yes, Ina?615 ¶47

Q and A

Neville, when you take off this body, you said there are worlds within worlds, do you have to return in this dimension to have the experience?615 ¶45

Speaker

My dear, death that we call death is not death…any more than departure from one scene on a stage is the death of the actor who left the scene. You’re restored, not resurrected— restored to life instantly, there’s no delay—in a glorious body like this, young, attractive, altogether wonderful like all young bodies are and approximately twenty years of age. You may be in an entirely different pigment. May I tell you, all these pigments…this is not evolution as the world calls evolution. Evolution is…there’s not a thing in scripture concerning evolution. It’s a theory with no facts to support it, none whatsoever. The jump between the fish and the mammal, they can’t find the link. Between the little mammal and man, they can’t find the link. Or the bird and the animal, they can’t find the link. Evolution belongs only to the affairs of man: instead of always digging with a hoe we now use a tractor, and between the hoe and the tractor there are numberless stages. Instead of floating across a body of water on a raft I now use an ocean liner, atomic energy…but between that there was a sail boat, a steamboat, and all kinds of things. Now instead of walking a distance I can take a jet and maybe a missile. And so, there’s evolution in the affairs of man, but not in the creation of God. And so, the pigment of the skin that you now wear hasn’t a thing to do with any so-called evolution. Let no one tell you that that is behind the times as some people will say. You could tomorrow find yourself a blue-eyed blonde lady and one who is now a blue-eyed blonde lady in the pigment that you wear if that is what is necessary for the unfoldment of Christ within you. The whole thing unfolds within and Christ is playing all the parts, but all the parts. So let no one tell you that we came out of any monkey and from monkey into this and that. Don’t believe it, my dear. But at death, unless this thing happens before the silver cord is snapped, you will find yourself in a garment knowing who you are, no loss of identity, in a world terrestrial just like this, in an environment best suited for the work yet to be done in you by the being that you really are who is God. “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ”. So let no one in any way tell you that they know from what is taking place now what you’re going to be tomorrow…and reading auras and all this nonsense, and reading horoscopes and reading numbers. Forget it! When you hear people who are supposed to be teachers, as I heard today, someone called long distance from New York City, and then they told me about some kind of wedding that some astrologer saw, and I wondered, “What have I been doing all these years?” I’ve been talking and talking and talking and I wondered, “Who is hearing me? Just what am I saying that is ever heard…to what extent is it ever heard? What degree am I getting over?” Here is one…she called twice in the course of four hours. The first call was for some distress about a nephew, and four hours later she called to say she got him out of jail…that it happened. I only heard what she asked me to hear. And so what he did? I didn’t ask what he did, I don’t know what he did, but she got him out. And then all this nonsense concerning marriage all based upon astrology. People read this nonsense. In the morning’s paper, men who are really in big business and you wonder, my Lord, you better take your money out of that stock. They won’t leave the house until they find out what their little sign is going to do today. Don’t think for one moment it isn’t so, they do it. And the only one who makes any money out if it is the one who writes it. Oh, he fattens himself out of writing this drivel. But you can’t break these little superstitions over night; it takes time to dislodge it, and tell you that your true identity is Jesus Christ. If Jesus Christ is my true identity, then I’m suffering from amnesia and then the whole story is remembered! So the last chapter of Ecclesiastes begins, “Remember, remember your Creator in the days of your youth”…the whole thing is appealing to man to try to remember. In the Book of John, “He will bring to your remembrance all that I have told you”. The whole thing…the 42nd Psalm, “These things I remember: how I went with the throng, and led them in gay procession to the house of God”. It’s a constant remembrance, calling upon man to remember, for man is suffering from total amnesia. He has forgotten his true identity, and his true identity is Jesus Christ. That’s what man really is. And here he fights with each other, he does all unlovely things to each other, and he doesn’t know who he is. So you are playing whatever part you are playing because the God in you thinks it best and knows it’s best, for the work that he’s doing in you and still to be done in you. So let no one tell you that we’re moving in some little direction towards a climax in a certain pigment. No, you are outside of this altogether. You are a being of light yet human, may I tell you, a human face, a human voice, human hands…and I will not go beyond that. I will not go beyond that much concerning the form that you will wear when you’re resurrected. But it is a human face, a human voice and there are human hands…beyond that let no one try to describe it. How would the butterfly explain to the chrysalis what it is to be a butterfly? When you awaken how could you ever describe to the being in whom you awoke what you were wearing? I tell you it’s the body of love that I wear and a body of light and power and wisdom, yet tied to this until I break that silver cord. But I can’t describe it to anyone’s satisfaction what I look like unless you have incurrent eyes…and then you are an incurrent eyewitness.615 ¶46

Speaker

Well, don’t you think there has to be a code or something in the world in which men live? And then this idea of God playing all the parts and one goes ahead and does something ugly when maybe he might have a touch of conscience about him, but yet he thinks he’s justified because it is God playing all the parts?615 ¶48

Speaker

Well, Ina my dear, you have always been in the theater, so you’re very familiar with Shakespeare. You go tonight to see a Shakespearean play and the great artists step upon the stage, and we’re all ready to receive their interpretation of the great Shakespeare. They step on by different names…one is called by this name, one is Burton, this one is Taylor, this one is so-and-so, and they’re all playing to the audience. Yet they are only witnessing the dramatization of the mind of Shakespeare. Every word that you hear was uttered by Shakespeare. It’s difficult for man watching it, not to think because he heard it coming from the lips of an actor who wore the mask of Hamlet, that it isn’t really Hamlet who is saying it, it was Shakespeare who wrote it. And then, that one who stabbed the uncle and he was killed, it was Shakespeare who did it… everything that you saw as you saw the whole thing unfold before you. And I have seen the uncut version of Hamlet; it ran about five hours. We went out to dinner after two and a half hours and came back an hour later. It played on 44th St. right off Broadway. We went to Sardi’s for dinner and my wife and I came back after dinner and continued for the next two and a half hours…five hours of the uncut version of Hamlet. Everything you saw—and you were moved to tears, moved to passion, moved to all those things—and you only saw the mind of the author projected, that’s all that you saw. There isn’t a thing that you saw there that was not out of the mind of the one who wrote it and it wasn’t there at all. The actors were paid for what they did; they played their part well. But in the end it was only one being who wrote it all and because there was no one else to play it, he played it all.615 ¶49

The Creator

You will find tonight to be a very practical and yet a very spiritual hour, for I am going to speak to you of the Creator. In Paul’s letter to the Romans he said: “All the invisible things of God are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made.” Man is called upon to look at the made, in order to discover the invisible God. How? By questioning himself. Look around you and try to remember when there was nothing to support your belief in the present, but you had a thought and dreamed a dream that one day you would have what is now yours. If you can remember, you have found the Creator to be your own wonderful human imagination. Could that be God?614 ¶1

Now, in the very next verse Paul claims: “Although they knew God they did not honor him as God.” Having found the relationship between the things seen and the imaginal act, do you honor your imagination as God? Or do you turn to images resembling mortal man, birds, animals, or reptiles and believe that they are the cause because they seemed to aid in bringing your unseen act into being? If you turn and think something on the outside is the cause of your good fortune (or your misfortune), you are giving up the truth about God for a lie, and worshiping the thing created instead of the Creator. Rather, you should relate your outer world to an imaginal activity within.614 ¶2

If you do not accept the fact that God is the cause of everything in your outer world, then you do not honor your imagination as God. Read this wonderful revelation in the 1st chapter of Paul’s letter to the Romans, verses 20 through 25. Stop for a moment and see if you cannot relate the world round about you to an imaginal act. Then honor your imagination as God. Do not continue to simply acknowledge that your thoughts create your reality, but accept those thoughts for what they are, and that is God in action. And do not give your creative power over to a mortal man, believing he was the cause of your good fortune (or misfortune). Man is God’s image - the created, and not your imagination - the Creator.614 ¶3

The Bible begins on this note: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Here we see that God created the within, (for we are told that heaven is within and God is in his heaven) and he created the earth, which is without. How did God bring the earth into existence if it is on the outside and He is in heaven on the inside? By the act of movement: “The spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” Here we find that motion is the cause, that without motion it is impossible to bring forth anything. And how does God move? Through the act of imagining.614 ¶4

Now, motion can only be detected by a change relative to a fixed frame of reference. What would you do to move from where you are now and what you are now, to where you want to be? Would your friends see a change in you? Would your outside world look different? Take time to sort out your desire, and when it is clearly defined move in your imagination. How do you know you have moved? By mentally looking at your world and seeing its change. While sitting here in the Women’s Club in Los Angeles, you can put yourself on Union Square in San Francisco, where you will see the St. Francis Hotel. Turn around and look at the other side of the square. Then walk down Market Street, and as you look in the shop windows feel you are there by thinking of Los Angeles as 500 miles to the south. If you are seeing the familiar objects of San Francisco, and Los Angeles is 500 miles away, are you not there?614 ¶5

Now, you can’t be double-minded. “Let not the man think he will receive anything from the Lord if he is double-minded, for he is nothing more than a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.” If my desire is to be in San Francisco, I must sleep this night as though I were already there. And as I am falling off to sleep, I must think of the place which I formerly knew to be my home (which is Los Angeles) as 500 miles to the south of me. That is a motion, and without motion it is impossible to bring anything forward into this world. This is true of everything, for in the beginning God created the inner and the outer, then He moved and creation began. Everything is within you and can be brought into being by this simple technique.614 ¶6

Desiring to visit my family in Barbados, I slept in New York City as though I were in Barbados and thought of New York City as 2,000 miles to the north. Then I received a letter from my brother justifying the trip and enclosing a draft to cover my personal expenses. I had not written my brother to ask him for this money, but while I was physically sleeping in New York City and imagining myself in Barbados, my brother had the impulse to write and give me reasons why I should come home. I hadn’t been there in twelve years and the family needed me to complete the link. He justified his letter; justified the draft and justified the expenses he would incur, while I - without a nickel - simply imagined I was already in Barbados.614 ¶7

I knew exactly what I had done, and I believe that all things are made by God and without him is not a thing made that is made; so I have found God to be my human imagination. Now, am I going to fall into the trap and not honor him as God but turn to an image resembling a human being and say he was the cause of my trip? Am I going to give credit to my brother who sent me the draft and notified the steamship company to issue me a ticket? Or am I going to remember the God that I discovered? This is what Paul is asking everyone who reads his letter. Having found God, are you going to honor him as God? Or are you going to exchange the truth about God for a lie?614 ¶8

Nothing has ever happened to you that you did not set in motion in your imagination. I tell you: you can be anything you want to be, but when you voice your request, your desire must be genuine. You must so want it that you are willing to remain faithful to your change in position. You cannot assume you have your desire for one little moment and then return to your former state, for if you do you are a double-minded man and will not receive anything from the Lord (as told us in the Book of James).614 ¶9

If you want to be successful in business, you can. I don’t care how many creditors you owe, or what the bank says you have; if you assume success and persist in that assumption you cannot fail. This is the law by which everyone lives. Take my message to heart. The God spoken of in scripture is seated right here. He is in everyone as their wonderful human imagination. When you say, “I am,” that’s God. If, right now, you are assuming that you are other than what reason says you are and I ask you, “Who is imagining?” you would say, “I am.” At that very moment you have spoken God’s name and all things are possible to God.614 ¶10

So without the consent of anyone you can move from where you are to where you would like to be by a simple change of attitude. But your move must be fixed so that when you wake or sleep you remain in that attitude, for the state to which your thoughts constantly return constitutes your dwelling place, and your world is forever externalizing your dwelling place.614 ¶11

Now, all the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen by the things that are made, so when they come into your world you can recognize your own harvest. You will bring it in anyway, but - unaware of what you have been doing you have exchanged the truth about God for a lie. How? By exchanging the immortal God who is your own wonderful human imagination, for an image of a mortal man. Because a man was instrumental in aiding you to bring your desire to pass, you think he is the one who caused it, when that is a lie. If tonight you inherit a fortune, don’t think that the one from whom it seemed to come was the cause. No. Preceding that event you assumed wealth. He was only the instrument, the actor playing his part in giving you the money. It could have come from a total stranger. You don’t need a wealthy uncle, aunt, or grandfather.614 ¶12

In my own family, my brother Victor befriended a man who, at the end of his life, left a very large sum of money to him. Victor had a consuming desire to have money and he never had a divided mind. He wanted wealth more than anything and believed that money was power. He was tired of poverty and, dreaming wealth, his world was populated with people bringing opportunities to make more and more money. Now if Victor forgets the cause, he will turn from the immortal God to an image resembling a man and claim that he was the cause of his fortune, when it is not so at all.614 ¶13

I say to everyone: you can be anything you want to be, but you cannot be double-minded. You are told, “Let no one believe that - having looked into the mirror, turns away and forgets what he looks like - that he will receive anything from the Lord, for the double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.” Many a person will say they want something today, but forget about it a week later. I am not speaking about some little magical thing where you can wave a wand and your desire will suddenly appear. This law is based upon a principle. If you want something, you can have it, but you must be willing to give up what you are now in order to be what you want to be. That is the only price you pay. No sacrifice is required outside of giving up the state in which you find yourself and moving into the state where you want to be, for they are only states.614 ¶14

Remember, without motion it is impossible to bring anything forth, for everything lives in an invisible world. Do you know someone who would congratulate you if they heard good news about you? Bring them into your mind and allow them to congratulate you. Now, the power of any imaginal act is in its implication. If he is congratulating you on your good fortune, then you must have already received it, so accept his congratulation as a fact. Do that and you have subjectively appropriated your objective hope. Hoping that one day he will know of your good fortune and congratulate you, you have gone ahead in time, entered the state and allowed him to congratulate you. Now, go about your business and when you think of him, let him know (in your imagination) that he knows of your good fortune and that the day will come when it will be externalized. And when it does (and he will know of it) he will congratulate you on your good fortune on the outside, just as he did first on the inside.614 ¶15

In the Book of Romans, the 4th chapter, the 17th verse, Paul tells us: “God calls things that are not seen as though they were seen and the unseen becomes seen.” How does he do it? By the act of movement. I move and that which was invisible becomes visible. I see you now, but you have told me your desire. It is invisible, but by the act of movement I can see your face radiantly happy because your desire has now taken on life and substance. I have moved, and in so doing I see you differently.614 ¶16

Now, if I move from that I am into what I would like to be, you will still be my friend; so in my imagination I let you see me as you would have to see me if things were as I want them to be, and there I remain. I can’t be double-minded and let you see me in my former state, but must persist in my new state until it becomes natural and outpictures itself in my world.614 ¶17

This is true of everything you do, I don’t care what it is. If you want to be known, you will be, regardless of the fact that you start your assumption with nothing to support your claim. Simply dare to assume that you are, for your assumptions - although denied by your senses - if persisted in will become externalized facts in your life.614 ¶18

A friend recently told me that he started his little restaurant in Oahu with only $180 in the bank and many debtors. This was just a few years ago. Tonight the estimated value of his business is over $100,000, and he is contemplating expanding into San Francisco. I know this gentleman well. Born and raised an ardent Catholic, in his mind he is still a Christian, but he does not follow Catholicism any more. When he heard my words he believed them, applied them, and things worked. Then he forgot and remembered again and forgot again. Now he is remembering, and I hope this time that the memory is permanent. He started his business in a very small manner, maintaining his conviction that it was a success, and things happened to make it so; but they were not the cause. His success was caused by his imagination. When things were beginning to go slow, he would remember the law. He remembered that the negative things which were happening were caused by his thoughts, so he changed them, and now has this wonderful opportunity for expansion.614 ¶19

I say: everything is possible to anyone who knows who he is. The average person does not know God, for if he did he would honor his imagination as God. Those who know God have discovered that when they imagine a state something happens and it takes form in their world.614 ¶20

You might have read in yesterday’s paper about this young lady who had watched television, read the papers, and listened intently to the radio tell of the many murders which were taking place around her and she became frightened. For two months she slept with a knife under her pillow, resolving to use it if necessary. Then, one night, she heard a sound coming from the kitchen. She saw a shadow and felt a knife at her throat. A tall blonde man, about 6'2" with hair to his shoulders and was about 190 pounds said: “Take off your pajamas.” As she got out of bed all of the thoughts she had imagined came into her mind. She reached under her pillow, grabbed the knife and began to stab him all over his back until he ran for his life. Everything she had imagined came to pass. She may not relate it, but not a thing happens by accident.614 ¶21

This is a world of law. The most horrible events must be imagined first. This is also true for the most beautiful things, as everything is first imagined, be it good, bad, or indifferent. Paul tells you that God is found by seeing the phenomena. “All of the invisible things of him are clearly seen from the beginning of time.” How? By the things that are made. The lady made her scene. Could that be God? Yes. Did God not say: “I kill, I make alive, I wound, I heal. I do all things and none can deliver out of my hands?” This is not a being on the outside speaking, but the imagination who is the Lord and there is no other God.614 ¶22

Don’t you say: “I am?” That’s He. So now that you have found God, honor him as God. When what you have imagined happens, honor your imagination as God. At the present time you may think of God as someone up in the sky, but not in your imagination. You know you are capable of unlovely acts, but cannot believe God could do such a thing; yet I say God - your imagination - is capable of killing, making alive, wounding, and healing. Ask the lady who was stabbing the man and she would answer: “I am.” That’s His name. And who held the knife to her throat? Would not the man reply: “I am?” He had to imagine that, too, for the drama took place with a knife, not a gun. The man had to imagine what the consequences would be if he was not successful, and so the drama, which took place in the world, was caused by God within Man, and there is only one God.614 ¶23

If you have a genuine desire, voice it, then move mentally. You can move on the outside many times and not change. You must move within and view the world from already being the person you want to be. If you do, you have moved from where you were to your desire’s fulfillment. The motion is mental, all in your imagination. Now, if the desire is genuine, regardless of what the world will do, remain in that state and you will bring it into visibility. It is impossible, however, without motion, to bring anything from an invisible state into an outer, visible one. Everyone can do it because everyone has an imagination which is God, and without him not a thing is created, and whatever is created is done by God whether it be good, indifferent, or evil.614 ¶24

Take me at my word. I have introduced you to the creator of your life. Now that you know him, don’t be like the Romans Paul spoke of, who knew God yet did not honor him as God, but exchanged the immortal God for an image resembling Him, and the true knowledge of God for a lie therein, serving the creature rather than the creator, who is the imagination. If you will but control what you are imagining, not a thing is impossible to you.614 ¶25

And you will discover that when you find God, your values change. You will no longer worship things, rather you will worship God, the creator of the things. It is so thrilling to imagine something for a friend and watch it come into being, then to give thanks to the one who did it within you. When you thank God, you worship God and serve God. When your friend gives you the good news that he has what you had imagined for him, thank him for telling you; but your real thanks will go to God, for - having found him, you now honor him, knowing he will never let you down.614 ¶26

You don’t have to burst a blood vessel when you imagine. Just let it be so. Knowing your request is genuine, imagine it as already accomplished and then trust him implicitly. This has nothing to do with any moral or ethical code, but your trust in God. Knowing that when you imagine, God is acting and God is faith, trust him to bring it to pass, for he will, and in a way you could never devise.614 ¶27

If you want something, don’t ask yourself if you are qualified, but is your request genuine. Do not concern yourself as to how and when it will happen, simply assume that you are there already and in a way that no one knows it will take place. Your business will grow, your family will grow, everything will be as you have imagined.614 ¶28

You can stand perfectly still and so move that you can be seen at the point in space where you have imagined you are. I have done it. Wanting my sister in Barbados to see me although I was physically 2,000 miles away, I moved in my imagination, and when she entered the room of her son she saw me lying on the bed. She wrote me that very day and told me of her experience, so I know that all things are possible, for you and God are one.614 ¶29

Take me at my word. It is impossible without motion to bring anything into being, and the motion is within you. Knowing exactly what you want, view the world from the premise that you have it. If the world remains the same, you haven’t moved. Only when it can be seen after the change, can you know you have moved. Now, continue thinking from the new state, for motion can be detected only by a change of position relative to another object. A friend is a good frame of reference. Looking at his face, let him see you as he would if your desire were fulfilled. He would see you differently, would he not? If he is one who would congratulate you, accept his congratulations. Extend your hand mentally and feel the reality of his hand. Listen and hear the reality of his words of congratulations. Then have faith in your unseen reality, for if you do, no power can stop it from coming into your world.614 ¶30

Now let us go into the silence.614 ¶31

We Are God Himself

To tell you who you are would really shock you. Here we sit in this world of ours frightened, scared to death, and here we are God himself, the very God who created the whole vast universe and sustains it. And to tell you that, well, the first thing you do, you resist it, because it seems impossible and the one who utters it must be insane. It tells you, “God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself…and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.”612 ¶1

Has he really entrusted to us the message of reconciliation? Yes. As he awakes within us he entrusts to us that message and we tell it to our brothers who are equal with ourselves. We are no better off, we’re no greater, and you can’t be greater than God. You tell it to those who are still waiting and are confused by reason of the dream and of the sleep into which they have placed themselves.612 ¶2

When it happens to a man he is called in the mysteries, Paul. He resisted everything in the world. Then it happens in him…a plan awakens within him…and then he said, “From now on we regard no one from the human point of view; even though we once regarded Christ from the human point of view, we regard him thus no longer.” No longer?612 ¶3

Then what did he believe Christ to be? What the whole vast world still thinks that he is…they think he was a man, something divorced from them, something distinct, and something on the outside that came in some unique manner. They do not see Christ as God’s plan of salvation. God prepared the way for his sons to return to himself and Christ is the way.612 ¶4

Why should we be disturbed and be surprised when we read in scripture that a serpent spoke? We take that for granted. We read that the serpent said unto the woman so-and-so; then Balaam’s ass spoke; then in Daniel a tree became a man…and we read all these things. But then you hear that Christ is a plan that also has a voice and that everything is personified in scripture. So when you read, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one cometh unto the Father except by me” here is a plan , the only road to God, with a voice, a plan is speaking, and the plan is in man. Why should I be surprised if a plan takes a voice and not be surprised if a serpent speaks? This is scripture and this is something entirely different from anything that you would sit down to write.612 ¶5

So, God was in his plan reconciling his sons to himself. He banished his sons for a purpose. You and I are the sons, all of us are the sons. “He has set a bound to the people of the earth according to the number of the sons of God.” Not one child can be born that is not simply a mask that a son of God wears. No one can be born who is not the mask that God’s son wears. So he has set a bound to the peoples according to the number of the sons of God.612 ¶6

Now, he is in his plan. Christ is called “the plan of God.” He prepared a plan for his sons to return to himself. Returning to himself he has given them what he really wanted always to give: he wanted to give his sons himself. God’s plan is to give us himself. He couldn’t give us himself until he first banished us, and we were sent out into this world, a world of death, a world of horror, a world of despair. But he had prepared the plan before that the world was, that when he brought us back by this plan that we would be God himself.612 ¶7

Because, really, there is only God. “Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one.” There’s “only one body, ultimately, only one Spirit, only one hope, only one Lord, only one faith, only one baptism, only one God and Father of all”; that in the end, all constituted the one body, the one Spirit, the one hope, the one Lord, the one faith, the one baptism, and the one God and Father. So in the end there is only one. So, “From now on,” said he, “I regard no one”…it happened in him. He went to take all the people who were called the people of The Way and to bind them and bring them into Jerusalem. While he was on the road—and the word road is simply “a progress,” the same word as “the way”—he was blinded by the Truth. It happened in him. And then he had to defend what happened in him against those who were still blind. Standing before those who were blind he said, “You cannot prove anything against me, for all that you will now try to prove against me is only what our fathers believed: that God would raise the dead. Not a thing you can prove against me that is not what you now believe…only in me it has happened and in you it will happen.” That’s what he is telling those to whom he spoke.612 ¶8

So here, every being in this world, I don’t care what he is, what he has done, what he’s planning to do, it is all God. The whole thing is God and there’s nothing but God.612 ¶9

Now let me share with you. I’ve told you in the past what has happened to me. I know from my own personal experience that God is love. When I say love, you can’t describe it. You use the word love…and we do know what it is to love a child. We who have had a child, we know what it is to love a child. We know what it is to love our wives. We know that’s a feeling that you can’t describe…you know what it is. But when it comes to a child you know what it is to love that child. To stand in the presence of infinite love and have love embrace you—having first been asked a very simple question, to name the greatest thing in the world—and then you answer in the presence of love that the greatest thing is love because you can’t think of anything but…there’s nothing but love.612 ¶10

At that moment of incorporation you are love, that’s all that you are. From then on, though others may not see it, you are wearing the body of love.612 ¶11

So you tell others what happened to you. They may or may not believe it, but you can go right out on the extreme limb and tell them, “There are some standing here who shall not taste of death before they know the truth of what I say.” They shall not taste it, they shall not depart this world—but really nothing dies, not in God’s world, nothing really dies—but you shall not depart the world until you know the truth of what I say, that this pathway to God is a series of mystical experiences in which God reveals himself in action for the salvation of his sons. He brings them all back into himself as himself. They are God himself. So I’ve told you that I was incorporated into the body of love, and from that moment on, though not seen by mortal eye, it’s the body that I wear. Whether I am awake or asleep, judged by human standards that’s the body that I wear.612 ¶12

It’s her privilege to give the eyes to anyone in this world; but when you give in the Spirit, you keep what you give and the thing that you give increases in its potency. Love increases if you can increase it. I thought it was infinite and how can you increase infinity? But, nevertheless, there it was. It still increases, wisdom increases, power increases if you give it. And so you give your immortal eyes so that they may see the truth of what you say, and she or he to whom you give it, they can give it and still retain it. You never lose your gift if you give it spiritually, it augments itself.612 ¶13

So here comes this experience of one who’s here tonight and she tells me that “I awoke within this dream. It was a complete waking state, because I heard the most heavenly music, and it was coming from this huge house in which I lived alone with my father. He and I shared this house. So I got out of bed and I went into the foyer, and I heard heavenly music surrounding me. I looked into a room and there this brilliant light, a ball of light, seated at a little pulled out chair playing the piano like a concerto. The most heavenly music was coming from it. But within the light was the skeleton of a child, a skeleton of a child in radiant light. I said to myself, I must find someone who is a witness to what I am seeing, I must. I don’t believe that Neville himself would believe it. I must tell him, but I can’t see how he could even believe this incredible thing that I am now witnessing…and I must find a witness. For if two agree in testimony and the two are different and yet they agree in testimony then it’s conclusive.”612 ¶14

That is scripture. But there must be two; one cannot witness to himself. But she lived in the house with her father. Scripture tells us that when he confessed, they said to him, “But your testimony is of yourself, therefore it is not true.” He said, “Yes, you have a law that only when two agree in testimony is it conclusive, but my testimony is true for I am not alone. The one who sent me, who is my Father, he witnesses with me.” So here, the father, the earthly father, is but a symbol of the heavenly Father in her vision. She actually lived in the household with her father (who is really herself), for the whole vast world is seeking the Father. The Father is the cause of the phenomena of life, but man does not realize that it’s not another than himself until he finds the Father. Finding the Father he finds the Father is himself and he is the sole cause of everything that is happening in his world. There is no other cause in the world.612 ¶15

So she lives in the home with her father. She wanted to find the father. Seeing this now she hears a noise coming from the room. It’s her father and her father is on his way to work. It’s quite early…and as he comes out she says to him, “Do you hear what I’m hearing?” and he said quite simply, “Yes, I do.” She was astonished that he heard because she knew this was a vision; yet he knew it, he heard it. As she held him by the hand as he was about to go through the door to work and she dragged him and opened the door to look in, and the scene she saw before is still there. Here is this brilliant ball of light with a child’s skeleton in the light playing this heavenly concerto. And he said, “Yes, I see.”612 ¶16

Then she had a witness now. She wants to come and tell me the story with her witness which is her father. So she started towards my home. As she arrived at the home, it is not the father, it’s her friend Natalie. And here, Natalie is with her, but Natalie knows nothing of what the experience was; her father knew it.612 ¶17

So they came into my house. As they entered the place they knew that here was his living room, my living room. They knew, that is, she knew and Natalie with her, that my wife Bill was asleep upstairs. But here my living room was not what you’d call a living room but it was a garden, a heavenly garden with the most beautiful flowers and there I was surrounded in a body of love. She’s looking at you…“I knew I could not disturb you. You seemed to me to the prince of light, completely enveloped in a body that is only love. I can’t describe it other than it was simply love. I looked at you, you looked at me as though you didn’t even see me, and I knew that what I’d tell you would be silly to you for you knew it all. You knew it completely so why even disturb what you were doing. You were watering these flowers and gathering these beautiful white flowers for the one that you loved. She was sound asleep upstairs, but you would take these flowers to her that you had watered and you had given life…for you were life itself; and then you gave it love and brought these flowers in a bouquet to her while she slept as morning after morning you did it in this wonderful place that was your garden, which was your living room.”612 ¶18

Whole vast world is simply a shadow. Everything here is but a shadow. Your earthly parents are simply symbols of your heavenly Father. The one who now tells you the story is now sent. I have told you I have been enveloped in the body of love. And the one to whom I gave the eyes would have to, before I depart the world, see the truth of what I’m telling you. This was a messenger. God was in Christ, which is simply use the word instead of Christ, God was in his plan of redemption, his path of redemption, reconciling his sons to himself. He banished his sons for a purpose and then we become the messengers of reconciliation. He’s entrusted to us the message of reconciliation after we experienced it. And you can tell it to the whole vast world confidently that you will not depart the world until someone testifies of the truth of what you’ve said.612 ¶19

You are now enveloped in love, when she saw the child, a skeleton that has all through the centuries been the symbol of Christ. Christ is always the child. Then you clothe it in love: the pathway you experience. He said, “I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life.” This is a pathway speaking, it’s a path speaking, the way of redemption that is speaking, as the serpent spoke, as the tree became man and spoke. So a way of redemption takes on the human form and speaks to man.612 ¶20

We enter the pathway. It takes man to externalize and awaken the path, because only man could do it because God and man are one. It takes man who is the living way. Here is a way…it seems not to be alive…and then you come upon the way. And there’s only one way to the Father. As you enter the way you are really the one resurrecting the way. It begins with the resurrection and you resurrect the entire way within yourself. You are the one truly living way to God the Father.612 ¶21

When you arrive there you are God the Father. Then you are now entrusted with the message of reconciliation and you tell it. Some will deny it as they’re more interested in things of the world. They want…like today’s paper shows a diamond that was sold for one million and a few hundred thousand dollars on a lady’s finger. Well, there are certain ladies in this world who would want that more than what I’m talking about. They would love to have that beyond anything in the world. But to tell them to have this which is a living way awakening within yourselves where it takes them back from the outer world of death into the living world of being God the Father, they wouldn’t be interested. Oh no! They’d rather have that and show it and brag about it all and love it. She would not be alone. There are millions tonight who would love that piece of dead stone…but valued by man in the outer world at a million plus…and that would be to them the most marvelous thing in the world. But to tell them this story, he said they were stubborn and they would not believe it. They were not interested. They’d rather have the acclaim of man and the honors of man, but certainly not this.612 ¶22

So I tell you what I know from experience. I have gone “the way,” and the way is not a man. You are the man who animates and activates “the way” when you enter it. And there is only one way back from where we are to where we were; and where we were was the Father. “We came out from the Father and came into this world; again we’re leaving this world and returning to the Father.” The return to the Father has been fixed for us and before we came out that pathway was done. He prepared the way for his loved ones to return. But we went berserk all over this world having all the experiences of death. Then comes that moment in time when there’s only one way back. It’s a very narrow way, for you can’t go through it in any other way than simply by this series of events. Diets will not take you back. Your position in the world will not take you back. Whether you are socially prominent, financially sound, intellectually a giant…no matter what you are in the outer world that will not take you back. There’s only one way back and that way is a series, and only one series of mystical experiences in which God reveals himself in action for the salvation of his son. He brings his son back, and when the son comes back he is God the Father. And that is the destiny of everyone in this world.612 ¶23

So now that I have heard one tell it I am completely satisfied. Yes, one saw me clothed in power. Yes, I am at moments clothed in power, clothed in wisdom, but now one has seen me clothed as I really am. For in the story when he embraced me he was love. That’s the one in whom I am incorporated. I am forever in that body as you will be forever in that body when you go through the series. You’re right back into the one body and that body is love. You can’t describe it. As she said, “I could not describe it. I only knew standing in your presence you were the prince of light.” Well, listen to the words of the 82nd Psalm, and God is speaking in the presence of his sons, he said, “I say that you are sons of the Most High, all of you; nevertheless, you will die like men and fall as one man, O ye princes.” You fall as princes because you were princes, but you’re going to go back as the king. You are princes, but you will return into the body who is king of all, Lord of all. For in the end, there is only one God containing all of his sons. But he now shares his being with his sons and they’re all the same being: they are the Lord God.612 ¶24

So I tell you, you can give anything away in this world and you’ll keep it…if it’s a spiritual gift you’ll keep it. You do not lose your gift; the gift becomes augmented and becomes an expansion of what it was. If it was love, love increases. No matter what it is…although it seems how on earth could this be increased? You can’t conceive of this love that embraced you ever growing beyond what it was…it seemed infinite. Yet in some strange way by the return of all of his sons maybe that love can be increased. Maybe that wisdom and that power can be increased and it’s not really infinite. It is simply an ever-expanding illumination.612 ¶25

So I thank her for sharing it with me, and she in turn has given her eyes to others. The others who received it will give it and yet all will retain the gift, and by giving the gift is increased.612 ¶26

So here, when you use the word Christ, think of Christ as the plan of redemption. When you read, “I am the way, I am the truth, I am the life” do not see it as just a single man 2,000 years ago making this bold claim; and then 2,000 years after you’re thinking of that being and turning to him and worshipping him. You see, the prophets’ vision was really foreshortened and they saw as present what was future. Now, the present moment is not really receding into the past; it’s advancing into the future. What I have told you now if you hear it and believe it, it is advancing into your future, so that really the bygone is not gone, it’s oncoming. We read of these things as something that took place 2,000 years ago and we think now 2,000 years ago and we’ve progressed since then, so it must have receded, for they told the story that happened 2,000 years before they were telling it. They told the story of Abraham that was 2,000 years B.C., that is before it happened. Well then, 2,000 years later…that’s 4,000. And you think it is always receding into the past; no, it’s advancing into the future. All these things that are happening are not happening now once and for all, it’s continually happening.612 ¶27

So everyone who is here this night, it’s my hope before you depart this little sphere that it will happen in you. I can’t tell you…looking at you with my mortal eye I couldn’t tell you.612 ¶28

I could not give anyone the gift that I gave her from this level; I could only give it in another level. So when I gave it I would have given it to my wife or my daughter. That would have been my feeling that I must give it to the one who bears my name here, but I was not in control from this level. When the gift was given, I gave it from a different level of my own being. Of all the people in the world…here is one I do not know socially, and yet it’s to her in the Spirit world I gave it, because it happens that way. She was just the one to whom it should be given. I retained the gift and she received the gift and now her eyes are opened inwardly into the world of thought. As Blake said, “I will not rest from my great task! To open the eternal worlds, to open the immortal eyes of man inward into the worlds of thought, into eternity ever expanding in the bosom of God, the human Imagination.”612 ¶29

So you give it and she shares it. She cannot give it to anyone who asks for it, because she can only give it in Spirit. If she gave it in Spirit as she did this night in seeing the story of one clothed in love…and you can’t describe it…how can one be clothed in love? Well, when you see it you see it clothed in love, incapable of doing anything save in love, and therefore everything in his presence is harmless. That perfect love casteth out all fear. In the presence of love not a thing could harm it. Isn’t that strange that here we go into the jungle and we’re afraid of the wild beasts. And when you’re clothed in love everything in this world is as harmless as a little kitten that is completely domesticated. Not a thing could harm you when you’re clothed in love and you are destined to be clothed in love…that little skeleton of a child.612 ¶30

And every mystic knows exactly what that symbol means. Here he will clothe it now. In the 37th chapter of Ezekiel, all the dead bones…he will lift them out and when he clothes them, well, he has only love so he clothes them in love. And the harmony of the spheres comes into being, and she heard the most heavenly music coming out of a piano played by a ball of light. The skeleton itself was radiant light and it was a skeleton of a child. So when you see the child you see the plan and not one bone shall be broken. Don’t break one bone…that’s the plan. On that little bone structure will be built the body and the body will be the body of love.612 ¶31

And so you see, you do not lose your identity. She knew me to be the Neville that she knows, even though I’m clothed now in a body of flesh. But she knew Neville and yet she knew that he was the prince of light and she knew he was the embodiment of love. She couldn’t disturb the work he was doing which was simply raising flowers, beautiful flowers. The flowers of scripture…read the flowers of scripture.612 ¶32

And her name, by the way, is Sharon. In the Song of Solomon we speak of the rose of Sharon, and he who spoke of her as “my sister” and yet “my love” and then “a lily of the valleys.” And all these flowers come into being and they mean so much in scripture: the things that are blossoming in the world of man. They are symbolic of what is taking place in man. They are only the fruit that love bears.612 ¶33

So, in the end, may I tell you, you are really God who is infinite love. So when you read in the epistle of John “God is love” don’t think for one moment these are idle words. These are based upon experience, God is love. It’s not an attribute of God. Wisdom and power, all these things are attributes of God but not love. God is love and that is God himself. Then he incorporates you into his body as you go along the way and then the son has returned as the Father. And when you see that one thereafter you see nothing but love and yet you see your friend. Eventually you will know him as your brother and you’ll be clothed as he is clothed, and everyone will be clothed in love.612 ¶34

Can you imagine the end of this drama when the curtain comes down upon it having brought back every one that he sent out? Can you consider for one moment, for one moment conceive of the thrill, the joy beyond measure, when all the sons return, all clothed as God the Father who is nothing but love? And the harmony she heard in her house, why, that beautiful as it was to her it is nothing compared to what you’re going to hear. I heard it, I heard it just for a moment back in 1946, and you can’t describe the beauty of the heavenly chorus that sings your redemption. When the whole chorus comes in, in one little theme, calling you by name by the way, because you’re so unique no one can take your place. Although we are one as the Father, we are distinct as sons, and no one can take the place of another. You are forever individualized, forever and forever, and yet together we are one Father. I can’t describe it in words, it can only be experienced.612 ¶35

And so, you bear witness to yourself, he said. One cannot bear witness, it’s a false witness; it would not be acceptable. And so he quoted scripture, “If two persons agree in testimony, then it is conclusive.” If these two differ and yet their testimony is one, then it is conclusive.612 ¶36

Well, I have one who testifies to me and that is my Father. So she began the story with “I live in the home alone with my father” and he heard what she heard and he saw what she saw, so he testified to the truth of what she witnessed.612 ¶37

Now she wants to tell the man who told her of the path to God. She found when she got there that it was not her father but a friend—“I call you friends… I no longer call you slaves” —the most perfect fulfillment of scripture in this vision. Then she comes in and instead of seeing what mortal man would see in the living room, beautiful this, that and the other, man-made, she sees God-made, a garden of flowers and a lovely greenery. She said, “A jungle that was not a jungle because everything was so beautifully done, but flowers coming up,” and I am watering and giving light, for I was the prince of light giving light to the flowers and giving love to the flowers. Then taking these flowers day after day to the one that I loved who was asleep above…waiting for the waking of that one.612 ¶38

So everyone must wake in this world and when they wake they go the same pathway. There’s only one way; there aren’t two ways to God. Today they have numberless ways that people teach, but they’re false ways. You can go on a vegetable diet from now ‘til the ends of time. You can go on any pathway other than this and that pathway will be false.612 ¶39

There is only one way and that one way is made up of a definite series of mystical experiences. It begins with the resurrection and the same night like the other side of the same coin is your birth from above. Then a few months later, five months later comes the third experience. The first is a dual experience. Then what would be the second—but still if you take these two and separate them, which you shouldn’t, call then that second one the second experience—and that is the discovery of the Son who reveals you as the Father. Then the third experience is the splitting of the curtain of the temple which is your own wonderful body; and your ascent into heaven, which causes the whole heaven to reverberate with your return. Your return! It’s a joy! Then the fourth is the descent upon you of the Holy Spirit with the stamp of approval of the work that is perfect. You are now as perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect; and you are one with your Father, and now he is holy and you are holy. And that is the end.612 ¶40

Now you are assigned a little, I would say, purpose in life for the remaining years to tell the message. So God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself and has assigned us the ministry of reconciliation. So we are now ministers of the Word. We are simply telling the message of this pathway from this world, which is the outer world of sin and death, to that wonderful inner world of God and heaven which is perfect.612 ¶41

So I tell you, don’t despair. You are destined to awaken one day as God who created the whole vast universe. Yes, not a little being but God who created the universe and who sustains it.612 ¶42

When all the sons have returned and all are back as God the Father, in the twinkle of an eye it will come to an end. It will not take time to dissolve the universe; it will come to an end. It was brought into being just for this purpose.612 ¶43

Let our scientists speculate about the age of the universe, billions and billions of years and so many light-years. Let them do it, perfectly all right. The end will come suddenly. The beginning came suddenly in spite of what they tell us. It was one grand explosion. Now we’ve just discovered that the moon that they thought came before or after is the same age as the earth. They’ll find that the sun is the same age as the earth. They’ll find the whole vast thing came into being as one grand scenic beauty for a purpose, and the only little place that could house it, which is a stage, is earth. Earth…and you’re on it. This is where all the sons are.612 ¶44

Sons will go back to the very being out of whom they came and they go back to the Father. So you are infinitely greater than you could ever conceive yourself to be…but I mean infinitely greater.612 ¶45

So here, tonight you may envy someone, dislike someone, well, that’s because you’re wearing a mask. And because of the mask you can’t recognize behind the one that you envy the one that you loved before you came out, really loved. He was a brother and there was nothing but love. You’re going to go back with that same love only increased by reason of the experience of coming into this world. There will be no envy, no tears, no darkness, nothing of that world. All of this will come to an end when we go back.612 ¶46

So I am so glad that I can tell you tonight there is one to whom I gave the eyes and then I remained long enough for her to have the experience of seeing me clothed in the body of love. For, I have told you time and again, and you have the tapes to record what I told you concerning the experience of love. Though mortal eye cannot see it, I feel it all the time. I sleep in it, wake in it, and it is always the clothing that I wear. Yet I must take this body up morning after morning and put it on, and have dim eyes, and not see quite what I ought to see. But the day will come when this is taken off and I am clothed as she saw me, clothed in a body of love, which is protection beyond measure; not a thing can harm you clothed in the body of love. For all fear is cast out…for love casteth out all fear. What you do not fear cannot hurt you. You walk in a world that is created by you. And everyone is destined to be clothed in that body.612 ¶47

So here, you are infinitely great and you are moving towards the discovery of it.612 ¶48

Everyone in the world is really seeking one thing: seeking the Father. So in the household she lived with her father; and he said, “Yes” quite innocently “I hear it.” She was stunned. “I see it, just what you see.” And then he seemed to vanish as she traveled the road towards my home, and now she’s in the presence of a friend. Then comes the unfolding picture of a garden. We came out of a garden and return to a garden, but this time we are fully conscious of who we are and we’re God the Father…in that beautiful living garden.612 ¶49

Now let us go into the Silence.612 ¶50

Now on Monday we’ll give you a very practical one, it will not be like tonight. So if you’re interested in the practical side while we are still living in the world of Caesar, it will be on Monday night. We have to mix them up and give you one like tonight and then one on the most practical side…how to really realize any dream in this world while you’re here. Again, there’s only one way to do it. You either do it knowingly or you do it unknowingly, but you do it, and there’s only one way. So Monday night it will be on that theme. Now are there any questions, please? We have lots of time…Ina, a question?612 ¶51

Well, the time is up now. We’re here, as you know, every Monday and Friday into December, then we close for a very short while. Come and bring a friend. Thank you.612 ¶58

Q and A

A question did arise though when you were speaking of the destruction of the earth or the world. What about the land of Atlantis and Lemuria that they are speaking of so much, do you believe that they were lost continents?612 ¶52

Speaker

Ina, my dear, I do not know, really. In my visions I have not seen that. I only see earth and I see the heavenly world. Now whether these things were once parts of this land of ours and sank as some people teach, as Plato taught…Atlantis went down and then Lemuria went down in the Pacific…so they teach that. Well, it’s an exciting story, but I do not know from experience. I do not know anything concerning what they’re talking about. My visions are all of the heavenly vision. But if these things really happened, it still would not mean that those who went down cease to be any more than when I depart tonight that I have gone…only from one who can’t touch me. But I haven’t really gone. Yes, my dear?612 ¶53

Speaker

Well, I know a lady that used to come here and when she first came she had the most marvelous visions and seemed to open up centers. And then suddenly she had terrible visions and she really is quite disturbed now. She seems to have opened centers that take possession of her instead of her taking possession of…I don’t know how she explains it, but…612 ¶54

Speaker

Well, my dear, I have people that will make that statement…you open up centers and this, that and the other. You still have her as a friend, don’t you? Well, tell her that it’s not anyone opening up any centers, none whatsoever. There are certain schools of thought that teach these many centers in a person. A friend of mine who saw me last Wednesday, no, it wasn’t Wednesday, was it Thursday? Jan, when were you home, Thursday? Yesterday…well, only yesterday. And she told me she went to this place and they were asking certain questions and the spoke of seven centers. “And now when you get to seventh center what do you think you’re going to find?” And Jan very boldly and I’m so proud of her for having said it, she said “Nothing!” Well, the lady was so distraught because she was setting herself up as a teacher having gone to a little maharishi or something who talks of all these centers. She said, “Don’t you understand that you aren’t going to find anything? You’re only going to find yourself at the very end of the road! So what are all these so-called centers?” The lady began to cry, because she thought that she was now a teacher and all should obey her and listen to her as one endowed with this power.612 ¶55

Speaker

I’m not putting over what I mean about centers. But it seems that what she said was at night she would have these terrifying experiences. I don’t know whether people would come, but…well, I’m sorry, I just can’t explain it.612 ¶56

Speaker

Well, you know, my dear, few people will confess what they do in their silence, so they do not recognize their harvest when it appears in their world. I was in the company last night of a very wonderful, dear couple, friends of ours who have gone through a great tragic thing in the last few years, and she told me for the first time last night at dinner that she gave her mother a great deal of trouble when she was a little girl. Then the mother in her advanced years developed cancer and lingered for quite a few years in frightful pain. In the meanwhile, she, the daughter, had two little girls; one gave her more trouble than the other. And she said to her God—long before she came here to discover that God was within her as her own wonderful human Imagination—and she talked to God as millions of people do, and thought she could appease God for the things she had done to her mother. She said to God, “I wish, God, you would take the one I love most and save my mother.” She’s going to sacrifice the one she loved the most, her own child, like the story of Abraham and Isaac. She took it into her own heart and made that bargain with God. Well, the mother eventually died, she was an old lady. Then came a third child who did all the things that this mother wanted her to do. She was a great dancer, she was in the public eye, and she did all these things. And then this girl for no apparent reason, no apparent reason—she had everything in the world to live for, a good job paying her $500 a week, everything, a young girl…then she committed suicide. Now the mother told me this last night…and of course she still can’t get over this blow of two years ago. Here was a girl making this fabulous fortune, no obligations to anyone, a single girl, young girl, and then commits suicide. She made a bargain and it’s not forgotten. This is a play, the most wonderful play in the world. “Be not disturbed; God is not mocked, as a man soweth so shall he reap.” And so, many people …and there are today people who sacrifice children, sacrifice people on the altar to appease God. That was common practice centuries ago. And that little thought has still come through the minds of men, and you don’t actually sacrifice them but you ask God to make his choice of one. You’re willing to give up the one you love the most to appease your own heart for what you think you did to your mother…and now she’s suffering with cancer. And so you feel you’re contributing towards what she’s now suffering because of your attitude towards her when you were young; and you’re willing to give up the one you love the most. The one she really loved the most was the last one that did all the things that she herself wanted to do. But I did not tell her there are moments when silence is golden. Why add to her hurt. It just simply came up at dinner, just the four of us, the two of them and the two of us, this wonderful confession out of the nowhere. But it had to come out, as she was asking for some reason for the death. She had just preceded the reason by the story she told me. This is the most marvelous play in the world…there’s only this play. And it’s not as Shakespeare said, full of sound and fury signifying nothing. It’s full of meaning. Every little thing is full of meaning, but man has so little memory, it’s so short. So man sits down with himself and he thinks now he’s not going to be seen by anyone, and the only one who is worthwhile looking at him is within him. It’s himself who is called the Father, and he sees everything that he is doing on the outside…and he will give it to him. When he gives it to him, he wonders, why should this have happened to me, for I am so good, I am so clean, I am so holy, I give to the poor, I do all these things. But they don’t know what they did in the Silence. The 8th chapter of Ezekiel will tell you that they say no one sees us and there they are engraving on the interior of the mind these horrible, horrible monsters and they say, “No one sees us.”612 ¶57

Sorrow Produces Glorious End

We’re told in Paul’s letter to the Romans that this world in which we live is a world of sorrow, and he gives us the reasons for it…and what a glorious end it produces. He said, “I consider that the sufferings of present time are not worth comparing to the glory that is to be revealed in us. The creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God; for the creation was made subject unto futility, not of its own will but by the will of him who subjected him in hope; for the creation will be set free from its bondage to decay, and obtain the glorious liberty of the children of God.” So here, the redemption of the entire universe depends upon the revealing of the sons of God. And here we are buried in this world…we are the sons and we do not know it. It is our revealing of ourselves when we unveil who we are, and to the degree that we are all unveiled is the entire world redeemed. It did not subject itself; we subjected ourselves. No one took away our lives. We laid it down ourselves, for we have the power to lay it down and the power to take it up again. So we came in for a purpose, and the whole vast world was subjected not by its own will but by the will of him who subjected it in hope that we who deliberately became what we are would one day rise from it, and then redeem the whole vast world, and set it free from this bondage to decay.606 ¶1

Now, your connection with the “plan of redemption” which is called in scripture Jesus Christ can be told in this manner. It is like a visible history compressed within a few years and a history that is continuously unfolding throughout the ages, a history that we call the history of salvation. At a moment in time they come together and unite into one person, and that is the Son of God…that is the unveiling of the being that you really are.606 ¶2

They come together condensed into a few years. What is 6,000 years against a background of eternity? So there is a history, divine history completely finished. You and I departed from that world of eternity and came here for a divine purpose and we go through human history. And here the real humanity, your real humanity, and the true divinity of Jesus Christ unite and become one person. Now, I’ll show you how it happens.606 ¶3

Think for a moment of Jesus Christ as divine history. Read it in the gospel that is divine history. It is not secular history; it’s divine history. When this history begins to be experienced by you who are in the world of human history, you will know the time has come. You will know that you are at the end. You will have it. I’ll show you how they tell it in scripture, and then link it with the most wonderful experience that I will share with you tonight that a friend of ours, I would say, gave me this past week. She’s not here tonight, but I will tell it.606 ¶4

Well here, we’ll turn to the story of the raising of Lazarus. This is divine history. You’ll see how the evangelist by the name of John…no one knows who John is, for he’s an anonymous person. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are unknown; they’re not historical characters. Who they were, who wrote it, no one knows, but they took the source material and then they wrote it in their own way. So they took events that were separated in time and rolled them into one dramatic scene that seemingly took place at one grand moment as an experience when they were really separated in time. But that’s their privilege, that’s their right as evangelists to take these widely separated events and fuse them into one grand dramatic scene. So we’ll see now what is told in the 11th chapter of John.606 ¶5

It starts off by saying that the one that you love…so he’s stated right away to be one loved and he’s loved by the Lord Jesus Christ. He is made aware of the fact that the one that you loved is dead, so he delays his journey even though he heard that he was dead. When he comes in, the sister of the dead man meets him and tells him, “If you had not left us my brother would not have died.” He inquires, “Where is he buried?” and they brought him to the tomb where there was a stone over the tomb where he was buried. He was buried in a cave. Then he gave the command to remove the stone and Martha said to him, Martha the sister, “Lord, by this time there will be an odor, for he has been dead for four days.” Prior to that, he said, “I am the resurrection. Do you believe this?” She answered indirectly in this manner, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world”. Now you listen carefully, “He who is coming” therefore, where are you addressing the being? If I said to you, yes I believe that you are and I tell you what I think you are, will I continue in this world to say you are coming into it? So where is the conversation taking place? “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, he who is coming into the world.” He doesn’t respond. He gives the command to remove the stone. Then she tells that he has been dead for four days and by this time—the King James Version uses the stronger expression “by this time he stinketh.” In the Revised Standard Version, they say, “By this time there would be an odor.” It should be stronger than that…but nevertheless, there would be an odor. He commanded them to remove the stone and the man who was dead hearing the voice, for he said, “Lazarus, come out!” came out, bound hands and feet and his head covered with a napkin. Then he commanded them to loose him and let him go…unbind him and let him go.606 ¶6

Now, you read that and you will think it is secular history. No, John took events separated in time in divine history and wove them into this one grand experience. I will give you my experience. He took the first event, which is resurrection, and then he took that last event, which is the descent of the Holy Spirit in bodily form as a dove, and he wove it into one grand complex picture as taking place at one moment…yet they are separated in time by three and a half years.606 ¶7

Now let me give you my experience. After my resurrection and birth from above—for they are inseparable, you cannot separate these two aspects of this wonderful experience. They happen the same moment like two sides of a coin. So, we are born from above through the resurrection of Jesus Christ within us…that comes first. Now, John takes the resurrection and he’s going to raise someone, and then he ties it in with the last event. Unless you’ve had the experience or you know someone who has had the experience, you could not see it. No scholar that I’ve ever read—I have so many books at home on the Bible, exegesis after exegesis, and no one touches it—no one touches it. They can’t get it because you cannot in any way discover truth through some logical process. Truth is revealed; it is not logically proved, it proves itself.606 ¶8

So here, the very last event in my own case was the descent of the Holy Spirit resting upon me in bodily form as a dove and remaining upon me, smothering me with love, kissing me all over my head and my face and my neck. Here it descends and remains. But prior to the descent, or as it is descending, a woman on my left—that’s Martha—and she said to me, “They avoid man because man gives off such an offensive odor. But he loves you and to demonstrate his love for you he penetrated the ring of offense so that he may show his love for you.” So here, the identical thing: an offensive odor. Not just an odor…there are pleasant odors…but “by this time there will an odor.” That doesn’t quite reveal the intensity of the disgust that they feel towards the world into which the sons of God have descended. Everything here decays, but everything decays. There isn’t a thing in the world, no matter how long it seems to live, it decays. Whether it be an animate or inanimate object it vanishes from the world…it decays. And death has a peculiar odor; it is the generative organs in a state of decay. I have on many occasions turned in the morning to my wife and I would say, “You know, this morning at four, so-and-so died” because of the odor, and I associated it instantly with that individual. The phone would ring during the day to tell me that my friend or my mother, my father, my so-and-so died…and give me the hour of departure. It’s associated with the decay of the creative power of God. This whole vast world is built upon it.606 ¶9

And so, in my case when the dove descended upon me it was a woman, not a man, who said to me, “He loves you.” That’s all that I told when I told the story in Resurrection, but she went beyond that, she said, “They avoid man, because man gives off such an offensive odor.” He stinks in this world of decay, and to avoid it they don’t come. But at that moment in time there will be contact between the two histories: the human history that is compressed within a few years, what, 6,000 years, and the eternal history of salvation. Then when they touch they create within that touch one new person instead of two…yet you do not lose your identity. I am myself and yet I am the being that touched me, and that being is Jesus Christ. It is the Pattern Man, the Eternal Man, the Heavenly Man.606 ¶10

So therefore you leave this world eventually. Soon after that moment you’ll take off this garment and take it off for the last time. Then you will come into your heavenly inheritance which you cannot now fully appreciate while you are still wearing the garment. But when you take it off, you will see it in its entirety. What is you inheritance? The heavenly garment that is the body of the Lord Jesus Christ that creates anything at will. Its wish becomes an objective reality. That is the power that you are inheriting, with a body to fully appreciate it.606 ¶11

Now here the creation waits for such contacts for the unveiling of these sons, for the creation has been subjected to futility. It was not subjected by its own will but by the will of him who subjected it in the hope of the revealing of his sons…and all of us are the sons. Whether you be a woman or a man, you are the son of God.606 ¶12

Now let me share with you what came to me this past week. About three years ago in a vision I gave her my eyes. In the vision she was told she was the incurrent witness. An incurrent witness is one who gives passage to a current moving within—and the kingdom of heaven is within—when you see reality. When you give something in Spirit, the one to whom you give it receives it in its fullness; but you retain the gift and the gift is enlarged by reason of the gift. I give you anything…I not only give it and you really receive it, but I retain the gift and it grows beyond what it was at the moment that I gave it. That is the peculiar thing that takes place within man. So she has the capacity to see reality coming from within.606 ¶13

She said, “I found myself in a group of people”—and it’s a vision—“I felt unlike anything I ever felt before, and coming out of the blue were bolts of light coming directly at me. I must confess I felt a little bit afraid. I was a bit startled and a bit frightened. Then suddenly I began to feel what I had never felt before, a power, a strange, strange power. In this power I felt I could have stilled the universe. I could have made everything stand still. I felt so powerful. Before me stood a man dressed in black, and he was the personification of something that humanity, including myself, but humanity has feared through the ages. He was the embodiment of everything that would be something to fear. And then my memory began to return and I knew that he came into being when I lost my memory. He was there, but as my memory returned he was now on the very verge of demise, and he knew it. My memory had not completely returned but enough to bring him to an end, and that he knew. He didn’t want to lose his power which was a power usurped from me when I lost my memory.”606 ¶14

Here, he was dressed in black. There is a rabbinical legend that Satan, who was the personification of human frailty, man’s doubts, all of man’s weaknesses, is always dressed in black silk. Here is a personification of a being that man called Satan, who is only the personification of man’s doubt, man’s unbelief, man’s frailty.606 ¶15

Now, as memory returns and this is the memory that came back to her, she knew without any uncertainty that “I am”—speaking of herself now—“I am Paul and I am Jesus Christ. It didn’t seem strange,” she said to me, “that I am a man, totally a man.” To those who are not familiar with this lady, she’s a young lady, a mother of two and now pregnant expecting her third in the not distant future…very much a woman. She said, “I was totally man and I am Paul—not a Paul but the Paul—and I am Jesus Christ, and I have all the power that I formerly had minus that much memory that is not yet returned. My power seemed to have struck him and he fell back on his elbows. He looked at me as though he was boring holes through me with these peculiar piercing, fiery eyes, trying to find some weak spot where he could once more recapture a bit of the power that he knew that he took from me when I fell asleep and forgot who I am. As he actually tried—I could feel him almost burning through me—I knew and he knew it was hopeless, for my memory was returning.”606 ¶16

“Then he said to me, ‘You don’t remember when you met me, do you?’ and for that moment I said, ‘No, I don’t.’ That would be technically true, I don’t, but something flashed through my mind like an ancient dream that I had forgotten to record. What flashed through my mind was a tree and a man standing beneath the tree; and he was that man beneath the tree who told me to eat of it. And I knew, the whole thing then began to come back, it was that that put me into my forgetfulness and I dreamed the dream of life. He became the most real thing in my world, causing all the things that have ever happened to me and yet it was myself…for he was the power. And now I am going to redeem that power, for it has to return to me. It can’t be lost and it can’t be simply dissipated in space, for I am the only power. I am Paul and I am Jesus Christ.”606 ¶17

So here is Paul. Who is Paul? His name was Saul and Saul means “to ask for.” Paul is “the little one.” Paul was blinded by the truth when, as Saul, destroying everything and being moved by this personified hate in his world, he touched the eternal story; and the union of the two transformed him from Saul into Paul. Paul is simply the redeemed man who knows he is man and yet he knows he is the Lord Jesus Christ. So everyone is destined to become aware of being Paul and still at the same time Jesus Christ. That is the story of scripture.606 ¶18

So, we take the events in the history, the divine history of the Lord Jesus Christ, and then we tell it in the form of a gospel. We take liberties as poets do and they take events widely separated in time, fuse them into a complex picture as though they’re all taking place now at this moment. They don’t tell you that is what they did…they leave you to discover it. Because you can’t take something as great as this and spell it out so that a child in kindergarten can understand it. As Blake said, “That which can be told to the idiot’s understanding isn’t worth my care.”606 ¶19

The ancients discovered that what was not too explicit was best fitted for instruction, and so they wrote the story of the gospel, the story of the Bible. They took events which could only be revealed; they cannot be discovered by logic. You can sit down from now ‘til the ends of time and you’re not going to discover it. I haven’t found one book written by a brilliant mind—who has not had the experience, mind you—who knows what it’s all about. He’s going to change the entire world and set it up on a new foundation and make everything just right. He hasn’t any idea what he is talking about. For truth is revealed; it is not logically discovered. It proves itself…so you don’t have to go out to prove it.606 ¶20

I am telling you what I have experienced based upon divine history. You will experience it, and you will experience it in the manner that I have told you. I really need not take the time to give you the chronological order, for the evangelists did not do it. None of them followed the chronological order. They took, for their own reasons, these events that are all true in themselves, completely true, and they wove them into a new story, and told it just as it should have been told, possibly, because “truth embodied in a tale shall enter in at lowly doors.” Man finds it difficult to accept bare truths. He finds it easier to take thoughts put into pictures.606 ¶21

So you take these individual experiences and put them into pictures and the individual now picks up his book and reads it and he thinks, “Now isn’t that a mighty act, a man was raised from the dead.”606 ¶22

He wasn’t resuscitated…we have that every day in our world. In the summer days there isn’t a beach where crowds go that we do not have a dozen or more where someone’s looked upon as dead, but there are trained men to bring them back to life, revive them by mouth to mouth resuscitation and they come back. They weren’t dead, but they would have died if they were not revived.606 ¶23

Well, this is not resuscitation. They use the word “four days” because it was common practice in those days, and still today there are certain groups who will keep the body three days and then cremate it on the fourth day. Right here in our state in Oceanside there is an ism known as the Rosicrucians and they have an international setup. Not the one in San Jose, the one in Oceanside, called the Hymer group, and they keep their dead three days in a cool room. If he doesn’t revive, they cremate him on the fourth day. Well, that’s not new. This is something as old as civilization. They firmly believed that the soul hovered over the body in the hope of reviving it for three days, and if it didn’t revive then they departed permanently. That was their concept. And so, in keeping with that concept when it was written 2,000 years ago, she said to him that he has been dead four days—meaning there is no hope of resuscitation. Then by this time decay has set in and decay will produce a stench. Then he commands him to come forth.606 ¶24

No one was in any little tomb on the earth; this was an adumbration. This is a foreshadowing in a not altogether conclusive and immediately evident way of what you one day will experience. You will experience not here, but you will experience it in divine history. You will come back and you will ponder the experience. You’ve touched the garment, you’ve touched the robe. For this history unfolds forever and forever. It’s not like the human history that begins and ends; this is eternal history, the history of salvation. And the minute you touch it and these things begin to unfold within you, you know you are one with the body of the Lord Jesus Christ and this union will produce one person, a new man. You will be not Saul batting your head up against all things in the world; you will be Paul and you will be at the same time Jesus Christ. You will actually know “I am Paul” and you’ll know at the same time “I am Jesus Christ.” And all the things that happened in this world that we frowned upon with our little moral codes are so natural and so right in the heavenly world. It didn’t seem strange to her that she was a man, and yet in this world she is so much a woman, so much a woman, yet there she is man and she knew she was man.606 ¶25

Now listen to the words as told us in the end of John. John has two endings. The real ending is the 20th chapter, while the 21st is an epilogue. So in the 20th chapter the unknown author makes this statement, “Jesus did many other signs”—they’re all signs in John, never calls them a miracle—“Jesus did many other signs, that are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is Christ, the Son of God, and believing have life in his name.”606 ¶26

There are numberless things that you’re going to experience related to that eternal history that are not written, but these that he wrote down seem to be what everyone experiences within a given period of time. Those that I have given you came within that definite period of time, yet before and after I still have these experiences all related to divine history because I can find their parallel in the Old Testament. So after the descent of the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove I had other experiences concerning the Old Testament, where it all came back like a memory returning…that the whole drama was played out completely before we descended and lost our memory. We are only remembering. Within our memory as it comes back a certain section of time in this little area of the world it happens. But it happens outside of the region that you can take any friend and share that experience with him. You can tell it, but you can’t share it, because it doesn’t take place in anything known to man.606 ¶27

So here, her experience is perfectly marvelous. It’s true. She is, by actual experience tonight, Paul and she is Jesus Christ. Here, every moment of her time she is very much a woman. Yes, she can be jealous of her husband, she can be envious…just like any woman in this world who is in love with her family. Not that I think for one moment that he has ever given her reason for doubt, but, nevertheless, she is so given that she can do it. Very much a woman…and yet tonight she knows she is Paul and she is Jesus Christ.606 ¶28

But this is not reincarnation. Paul is only the personification of everyone who has been transformed from what was Saul into what is Paul. And it was Paul, under the name of Saul, who was persecuting this divine history. It was called “The Way.” When he heard the words, “Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” He said, “Who art thou, Lord?” He said, “Jesus, whom thou persecutest.” Where was it? It wasn’t here. Here I hear the story and I turn away from it completely, turn my back on it, and refuse to accept it. That’s persecution: I deny him. Well, that’s what everyone in this world does at some time, some moment in time he does it. Then comes the fullness of time when it suddenly erupts within him and he is the Lord Jesus Christ. Now he goes through the entire divine history and it all unfolds within him.606 ¶29

So who would have thought that simple little statement in the 11th chapter of John, “By this time he stinketh”…you will think, well, after all, that’s some little comment made by a woman in this world about a dead brother who had died four days before. But it hasn’t a thing to do with that. When the woman turns to you and tells you that the Holy Spirit avoids man because man stinketh, you will know what section of the gospel you are now re-enacting. For he speaks of the Holy Spirit who descends upon you and now he comes in the form of a dove and here he remains upon you. So now you know this is he: the one on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain that is he. That’s the chosen one, that’s the elect, and so one more son of God has been unveiled. And to that degree the groans of the world…for creation is groaning and waiting eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. All the revealed sons in the end form one and that one is God the Father. It takes all the sons to form the Father.606 ¶30

So, there’s no book in the world comparable to it. Everything else is commentary. I don’t care what it is, it’s all commentary. This is truth, not discovered by any logical process but revealed. Who on earth would have thought that that simple little statement made that he stinketh, or there would be an odor, had any significance to it? Here, everyone is going to hear that same word coming from a woman. A man didn’t tell it to me, it was a woman…that was the Martha of scripture. Here she stood on my left and said in a very commanding voice…she knew exactly what she was talking about…“They avoid man because man gives off the most offensive odor.” If you could only put that qualifying state to it…not just say an odor, but the most offensive odor, then you would know exactly what the King James translators meant when they said, “He stinketh.”606 ¶31

Because every man stinks and the whole vast world gives off the most horrible odor to those watchers in eternity who watch eagerly waiting for the “stir” so that they may come down to redeem the one that is but the externalization of themselves. For these are the sons in eternity waiting for this to simply stir. The minute we in this world touch the eternal garment, then virtue goes out and then we are healed. And then we begin to move from this world into the world of eternity. Then we tell it.606 ¶32

You come back and you tell it, just as it happened to you, and try to show through scripture that the story is true. Some will believe what you say from what you’ve done and others will disbelieve it, and it doesn’t really matter. They will never disprove it. Let them remain because their time has not yet come. Everyone eventually will be redeemed and everyone will have the same experience.606 ¶33

But the story is told…there is no reason to retell it. I can tell you as I’ve done over the years in the chronological manner in which it happened to me. But whether it is a chronologically true story or simply the individual’s experiences woven beautifully by the poet, for these were poets who wrote the gospels. As someone once said to me, I think it was Huxley, “There are three kinds of writing: there is journalism, there is literature and there is scripture.” The greatest writers of the world considered the giants in literature can’t write scripture. He himself admitted “No I couldn’t write scripture.” It’s something entirely different.606 ¶34

The journalists, you wouldn’t call them men of letters, but they write beautifully and excitingly in our papers and magazines. But they certainly would not be considered the mental giants in the use of words as to real literature. On the other hand, those who write literature, great literature, couldn’t write scripture. If you really understood scripture as it is written, I’m quite sure the whole thing was poetry. But our translators couldn’t quite get the measure of it and bring it into its poetical form. For it is poetry…it is truly inspired. Even if it is not measured as you would measure a poem, when you read it no one can tell me he isn’t moved by it, because it is speaking to something in the depths of one’s soul. So don’t treat it as literature…it is not literature.606 ¶35

I saw in today’s paper some ex-nun, was a nun for ten years, and now she’s teaching at, I think, UCLA, some class in religion. Or it’s a branch of UCLA…I think it’s Irvine or some other college, but it’s part of UCLA. She said what an enormous class that she has, but she treats it as literature. Well, if you want to, but that’s not religion. It certainly is not history for there was no place on the face of this earth where a man was buried for four days having been proven dead who rose from the grave. Yet you have been buried for thousands of years and you don’t know you are, and yet the watchers in eternity receive from you, multiplied the by billions of us, a stench beyond the wildest dream of man. If you’ve ever gone to Chicago and gone near the stockyards, you know what a horrible odor that is. Well, multiply that by the whole vast world. Not one small area in Chicago but the whole world, and the stench is beyond the wildest dream of man. That is the stench of humanity. But the love is so great he penetrates the ring of offense to demonstrate his love for that chosen one on whom he will now descend and remain. They will ascend together. He is now a transformed person, and he is Paul, the transformed being, and he is Jesus Christ. Then they go back together…two that are really one.606 ¶36

So when you read it in the future, don’t discount the simplest little thing about it. I tell you that you will experience it…just what I told you tonight…and you will know that Lazarus is not something on the outside. The word simply means “God has helped.” No man can redeem himself, God has helped. Yet there are numberless schools teaching self-realization, self-development. If you don’t do so-and-so then so-and-so will happen, and they give you all these little things for you to do and promise you self-salvation. Well, if you want to believe that, you’ll believe it only through the help of those who teach you. The only help that they get from it is to take from you the money that you’ve paid for having heard it…for they can’t deliver the goods.606 ¶37

This comes through grace, grace and still more grace: “Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” So let no one fool you that by doing certain things you are going to be saved. You will be saved not by anything that you did other than to “Set your hope fully upon the grace that is coming to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” Hear the story. Don’t reject it, believe it. And then really set your hope that it will come in the not distant future. That hope that you have set firmly believing in the story without doing anything on the outside will materialize in your world. You will share it with others. Not every one will believe you. And even if others believe that you did have the experience they will discount it as a nice, sweet, wonderful dream. Not having had any similar experience they will call it just a dream or hallucination. It’s so easy to simply shake it off if you don’t know what is being said. That goes from the highest to the lowest, so don’t expect because a man is intelligent that he really understands what you’re talking about when you get off into these depths.606 ¶38

I know that from my own personal experience from trying to share it with men who consider themselves very able. They have their Ph.Ds and they’re so brilliant in their own mind’s eye, and they write tomes about each other. All must be Ph.Ds and so anything below that isn’t worth their consideration. They shake off their ignorance by telling you, well, it’s an hallucination. They’ll go home, possibly, and burst their little brains trying to find out something about it, but they couldn’t confess to you that they didn’t know. So they’re very proud of the fact that they are agnostics. I read here recently that someone in a very humorous vein said, “The man who proves himself on agnosticism is only confessing that he’s an ignoramus as stated in the Latin. For ignoramus is “we do not know.” So the agnostic is “we do not know,” so he proves himself on agnosticism which is only a confession in Greek for the Latin “ignoramus.””606 ¶39

Well now, you tell that to someone and he will slap you in the face because he is a Ph.D. But having once heard what it means, I reserve my feeling about it. It’s a very humorous…and yet people spend seven years to get it and therefore let them have it, and let them indulge themselves in the belief that they differ because they spent seven years to get the Ph.D. What they have to commit to memory… volumes and volumes that tomorrow will be disproved. In fact, when they start to do it they must commit to memory volumes that have already been disproved. But unless they have a good memory for such nonsense they won’t get their Ph.D., and unless they get their Ph.D. they can’t get a better job in our universities. It goes over and over…all this nonsense.606 ¶40

But the truth of which I speak is not acquired in universities; it is revealed. You cannot bring any logic to it, it doesn’t make sense yet it is the eternally true story. So it’s the wedding between a visible history compressed into a few years and the eternal history of salvation. When they meet, they then create a new being, a new being in one person. So you are Paul and you are Jesus Christ. So her story is perfect just as she experienced it.606 ¶41

Now let us go into the Silence.606 ¶42

* * * Now are there any questions, please?606 ¶43

Q and A

Yes, Ina, but I don’t want to go beyond that…because I asked the question. Well, as I brought out tonight and I think I’ve answered you in tonight’s lecture, the two histories touch each other. One is a visible history condensed in a few years and the eternal history of salvation. When they touch, the ones still wearing the garment of the visible history will have the eternal history unfold within themselves. Then they’re not male or female when it completes itself, they are man. Man is above the organization of sex; he’s not female neither is he male. Man is not a divided being. So as you brought out earlier, well, the regeneration of one and the regeneration of the other…and it’s not based upon a sexual manner.606 ¶45

Ina, if you try to bring it into this world and try to explain it here, you’re going to confuse yourself. If you identify that eternal history within any man in this world, you’re leading yourself astray. It is not here. He is coming into the world: I believe, “Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, he who is coming into the world.” Well, he comes from within man in a series of events…that’s how he comes. That’s how I will know that he did come, because I experience all that it is said of his history. He was present at the resurrection of a friend that he loved. He was present at this…and what did he say? For I heard the woman, the same woman repeat that “it stinketh”…it’s a most offensive odor…this identical thing that took place as recorded in the 11th of John. So when I know these things are taking place in me then I know that he came. So he becomes as I am, and in that moment I am no longer Saul batting my head against the wall, I am Paul, fully aware at the same time that I am Jesus Christ. And you can share it with those who will understand, but the majority of the world knowing your weaknesses and your limitations will turn their back upon you and think that you are in need of a little psychiatric treatment. So I would not tell anyone. They do not understand…they just don’t. Why throw it before someone who could not digest this food? They can’t digest it. If you served this tonight or took that tape and played it back for those who are now cardinals and heads of the great dioceses of the world, they would think whoever took it down is blaspheming, and the one who spoke it is the embodiment of the devil, because they have the strangest concept of who Jesus Christ is. They do not see Jesus Christ as the “pattern man.” They see Jesus Christ as a little man who lived 2,000 years ago and he was brutally murdered, the innocent being that he was, and then he rose. One little being that’s what they see and they teach that, and really believe that they’re doing God a service in teaching that nonsense. The whole thing is the most glorious story ever told. You and I are the gods who came down and assumed the weaknesses of the flesh, the limitations of the flesh. And while here, that which was before that the world was, the pattern man, in the fullness of time of our horrors and our sufferings we touch it. As we touch that history, our little visible history compressed as it is into a few thousand years is now completely transformed into eternity, and we are one with that which was before that the world was. Good night.606 ¶47
